Chapter 6470 Raising Millet Rats is Not Easy
Jiang Meng's face lit up with joy: "Do you still have millet rats? We can trade them for Flame Duck Beasts."
Luo Bi wanted to eat duck wings: "Yes."
"Where did you catch that millet rat?" Jiang Meng asked with a puzzled look, tilting her head and saying, "The millet rat you sold to the Tang family's hunting team. When I was playing with it, I thought I smelled the aroma of ripe red dates. Can millet rats cook?"
"Oh my god!" Luo Bi exclaimed, her eyes widening. "No way?!"
“I probably misidentified it.” Jiang Meng didn’t dwell on it and said, “Only one of the shrew’s paws smelled of red dates. Perhaps Tang Ge’s wife ate red date cake and then touched the shrew.”
Luo Bi panicked. She had harvested quite a lot of millet, and she was devastated if someone stole it.
So, there's no sign of intellectual decline; we're not stupid.
Jiang Meng went off to show off their mercenary group's harvest to others. Luo Bi returned home, and Zhu Xingrong repeatedly turned over the millet and sorghum to dry. Luo Bi didn't care whether the children were busy or not, and called the children over from Wei Tuo's house.
"What are you doing?" Zhu Xingrong wiped his sweat.
Luo Bi instructed the child: "Go and fetch a few millet rats to exchange for the meat of the Flame Duck Beast."
Upon hearing this, Zhu Xingrong was overjoyed and ran to find a bag to catch the millet rats. Luo Bi found a bamboo basket and even got a hair dryer. She went to the sink to wait for Zhu Xingrong, who was holding the bag with a bewildered expression.
Luo Bi handed Zhu Xingrong a small bar of soap; the cheaper-priced soap was actually not cheap at all.
Zhu Xingrong was puzzled, and Luo Bi said, "Wash the millet rat's hands, wash them clean, and then apply nail polish to them."
Zhu Xingrong: "......What are you doing?"
Luo Bi fooled the child: "Dress up the millet rat beautifully, and you'll get more exotic beast meat in return."
The child, head covered, picked up a hamster and washed its paws, lathered it with soap, and rinsed it clean. Luo Bi then dried the hamster with a hairdryer, making the hamster so happy that it stopped scolding and felt comfortable.
The mouse almost fainted from beauty after the nail polish was applied.
This busy work took a lot of time. Hua Ran and her group returned, and Luo Bi gave Hua Ran a bag of beautifully dressed millet rats: "Go and exchange them for Flame Duck meat, including the wings and heads."
Hua Ran opened the bag and counted the mice. But when she saw them, she was stunned. She looked at Luo Bi with a complicated expression. Luo Bi had come up with a new way to torment the mice.
Hua Ran carried a bag of millet to her neighbor's house and agreed to exchange it for a duck wing and half a duck head.
Tao He opened the bag, took out the millet rat, and paused for a moment before saying to Hua Ran, "No matter how well it's dressed up, it can only be exchanged for five catties of duck wings and half a duck head. We're exchanging the millet rat for meat, not keeping it as a pet."
Hua Ran waved her hand, "Change it quickly."
Tao He was so angry he laughed. He guessed it was one of the kids in the family who did it. Millet rats are not easy to raise; they have a bad temper and died of anger in no time. He gave half of the duck head to Hua Ran and cut off a section of the duck wing.
When Hua Ran returned, she asked Luo Bi, "Why did you wash the mouse's paws and brush its teeth?"
"It's stuck with sticky rice cakes." Luo Bi said helplessly, "I'm worried that the mercenary group will notice something's wrong."
Hua Ran was convinced; he really had a lot of tricks up his sleeve.
The dinner was plentiful, with roasted duck wings and spicy duck heads. The duck heads, in particular, were so fragrant you could swallow your tongue. They were numbing and spicy, and it was so satisfying to eat.
After the meal, everyone continued to husk the millet.
Luo Bi pondered for a moment. He realized that he couldn't take over all the territory by fighting like this, and sooner or later someone would steal it from him. He opened the communication system, contacted General Qi Lan, hesitated, and then thought, "What's wrong with contacting General Qi Lan after defeating so many 'shrews'?"
I need to change this habit; if I don't keep in touch with everyone for a long time, I'll become estranged. (End of Chapter)
