Chapter 33

The funeral was torture.

Everyone dressed in black with teary faces and a miserable body language, even the weather seemed to cooperate, it was drizzling lightly putting a gloomy envelope over us. It wasn't my first time attending a funeral, I had attended one, my own father's, 4 years back.

And though that one was fake, I was sure this one wasn't because this was an open casket and I could see the silent pale dead body.

I gulped, feeling my tears in the eyelids, I blinked them off. Looking around I realized I knew quite a few people. My eyes stopped as they landed on my father's rigid body, his eyes strained on the coffin. People talked beside him but he was too focused on the dead body to listen to their words.

As if sensing my gaze, he looked up, sending me a sad smile. I barely managed to smile back, all I wanted was to hug him and console him. I couldn't even imagine the pain he must be feeling right now.

Four years, back from dead after four years only to attend another funeral.

I found myself walking towards him. As soon as I reached near, dad wrapped his arms around me lightly patting my head like he did when I was a child, and was sad because I didn't get what I wanted, that was mostly chocolates.

"It's going to be okay." He whispered.

I sniffed, blinking away the tears again. Hugging him tighter, I nodded, "I know dad and so should you. We are there for you."

He smiled, lightly kissing my forehead. "We are there for each other, unicorn."

"Please take your seats." Someone said and immediately there was hustling and whispering as everyone scrambled to take their seats. Ours was of course the first row.

I sat next to dad and held his hand tightly as someone went up to speak a few words.

"Hello," Her voice trembled, she was in her late forties, dressed in a long full sleeve black dress with minimal makeup. She wiped her nose with the handkerchief and took a deep breath before continuing to speak again. "As a few of you may know I am Joe's sister, Macy. We had a troubled past, we weren't as close as a brother and sister should have been but that didn't mean we didn't love each other. I'll never know exactly why he never got married, why he ran away from this place but I figure it's something to do with the drug racket he was working on."

Macy glanced at dad sadly, "But I do know he died protecting the people he considered family. He was a brave man, always strong. And wherever he is right now-" she glanced up, putting her hand over her heart. "- Joe, I want you to know that I love you. You were an amazing brother and a great person. You have changed and saved lives. You are a hero." And with that, she promptly burst into tears.

A man, her husband I suppose immediately went up to hold her and bought her back to her seat, trying to calm her down.

My dad got up, smiled at me before taking Macy's place.

"I am not dead." Were my dad's first words as he pointed at himself. A slight chuckle ran through the room which felt foreign considering it was the dull and sullen air.

"And it's because of the man who saved me, Joe. Many of you don't know what exactly happened four years ago and I think it's high time to know it all." Dad crossed his palms, a telltale that he was divulging in a story.

"Four years back Joe, I and Mason-" he nodded at the old guy in the front line. I had seen him a few minutes back, moving around the coffin with a walking stick. But what really caught the eye first was the burnt scar on his face, right from the corner of his left eye until the neck, disappearing under his black suit.

"-we all solved one of the most notorious drug-dealing gang." Dad continued. "We were so close to catching them amidst the drug dealing but sadly somebody betrayed us and they set a trap. We barely escaped, Mason got a scar and limp, I had to fake my own death to protect my family and the only reason we both are alive is that Joe saved us that night. Just like he did seven nights back." Dad's words became choked and I could see he was struggling to keep his tears at bay.

"He is the reason I am alive, he is the reason my son is alive and I will forever be grateful to him. Joe you were more than an acquaintance, you were more than a friend, you are family. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. And you shall be very much missed, brother."

With this dad got down, mom straightaway went over to him, hugging him tightly. He wrapped his arms around her, pecking her cheeks as she gently rubbed his back. Unconsciously I turned to look back where Colton sat.

His eyes were already on me, he smiled supportively and I smiled right back, wondering how I ever got so lucky with him. Feeling my heart swell with love I turned away, wiping a stray tear.

He helped me cross a bridge that had sunk into a river, and for that I'll forever be grateful.

The ceremony got over quickly after that, everyone shed tears as Joe was lowered into the grave, a sense of dreariness falling among us.

"You okay dad?" I asked as people let the cemetery, one by one, until only his close family and a few others were left.

He smiled at me, his eyes still teary. "After all these years I can finally walk freely again and he gets shot."

"I know. But Angelo is behind the bars now, you don't have to worry about him."

Dad nodded, "Yeah, he's not getting back on the streets, and nor are his men. I'll make sure of it. For Joe." He swore, looking up at the evening grey sky.

I looked up too, a few drops of rain, falling on my face. "I know dad and we are proud of you."

"You sure about going, Racheal?" My mom asked, smiling at me.

She was released from the hospital just two days back and my dad had barely left her side. "I am going to win her back." He promised me and Josh.

I knew she was ecstatic about dad coming back but I also knew she was a lawyer who needed answers. And this was the weekend she was going to get some.

"Yes, mom, Colton, and I need some time off too." I replied, hugging her.

She hugged back. "Okay, stay safe and call me every night."

"And don't do anything I wouldn't do." Dad warned.

I grinned at that. "You would do everything dad."

He winked. "Exactly."

"Ashton." Mom reprimanded, slapping his arm.

"Come on babe. We have the whole house to us." Dad swung his arm around mom's shoulder and with a quick wave and hug they stepped into their car.

I felt a wave of satisfaction pass through me as I turned and saw Colton walking towards me.

We crossed hurdles, stumbling, hurting, suffering, but we crossed them. And we could do it all again. We were strong enough.

"Are you sure about this?" Colton asked, his thumb rubbing the back of my hand lightly. "It's okay if you want to go next weekend."

I glanced at his car and took a deep breath, smiled, and looked him in the eyes to prove how sure I was about this. "Yes, I want to do this."

His response was a big fat grin that widened my smile. "Plus Mom and Dad said they needed this weekend for themselves, to figure out the problems and become a family again. So even Josh is staying at his friend's place." I shrugged pretending to be nonchalant, "So sadly I am stuck with you."

Colton narrowed his eyes before smirking with over-flowing arrogance. "Soon I am going to be stuck inside you."

My eyes widened and blood rushed to my cheeks, despite my innocence I felt myself craving his touch.

Less than zero experience but I was ready to get wild.

Oh, this was going to be a long long night.

"Whoa!" I exclaimed in utter admiration as I stared at the lake house we were going to spend the weekend at. "This is so beautiful."

A smile of wonder spread across my lips, it looked insanely striking, especially due to the setting sun that gave the house a serene yet pretty look.

Surrounded by trees and water, there was almost no one else in sight. Just us.

"This is where murders happen." I blurted out.

Colton looked surprised at first and then amused. "You think we are going to be murdered here?"

I bit my lip apprehensively. Re-watching every episode of Criminal Minds, Castle, Cops and other detective shows I knew better than to stay in a place this secluded.

Colton dropped his arm on my shoulder, walking to the door and pulling out a card. He waved it in front of me, "This house may look old but it has full technology. Alarm systems, card entry, modern locks, WiFi, and even an emergency code. So relax."

He swiped the card, entered a code and the door swung open. Winking at me, he bent a little gentlemanly style. "Welcome to my humble lake house, my lady."

I felt all my worries disappear just like that. Grinning back at him, I said "Thank you my kind sir."

I hardly had any time to admire the décor and architecture because as soon as the door closed I was pressed against it with Colton pressing against me.

He put a lock of hair behind my ear, his lips lightly carving a path from my cheek to the ear. "Do you what else is amazing about this place?" I gasped as his teeth gently bit my ear, my brain hardly caring about the question.

"I can make you scream so loud, all through the night, and no one can hear you." His hands lightly skimmed the bare part of my waist, making my skin tingle. "It's just you and me. Just us and your screams."

I gulped, half closing my eyes as his lips started a trail down the ear to my neck. "Is- is that a dare?"

Colton backed away, his eyes shining with the purest form of primal lust and love. "Oh babe, that's a promise." And with that he walked away, whistling a soft tune to himself. Leaving me there, clutching the door, hot and bothered.

It took me almost a minute to get my mind away from the filthy track it was chasing. And then another to compose myself and admire the house.

There was a long couch in front of the fireplace and large TV on top, a beautiful chandelier hung through the ceiling and the room was beautifully decorated. Through the full-length glass windows, I could see the small waves of the water glistening under the moonlight, the green trees, and colourful flowers around the edges. It was enchanting.

"You coming to freshen up?" Colton's voice bought me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, I am coming." I called, following his voice through the dimly lit hallway. I reached the bedroom and Colton was dressing into his silk shorts, his broad refined chest, fully on display. All for me.

"That was fast, you can come with just my words." Colton mocked, clearly enjoying the effect he was having on me.

I felt myself blushing again but deciding not to give him the satisfaction of making me squirm delightfully again, I walked towards him, until our feet touched.

I lightly flicked his nipple, making his eye widen and his spine stiffen. My eyes widened as I saw the Jacuzzi and images of me and Colton, inside the tub, his hands rubbing my back and then gently delving into the area no man had touched. My thighs clenched together and taking a deep breath I ordered myself to not think those thoughts anymore.

But then my eyes landed on the big shower space and I saw my back pressed against the cold wall, my legs wrapped around Colton's waist as he fulfilled his promise of making me scream like never before. I breathed out, my eyes shutting close.

The shower was quick and I could smell the fragrance of rose on my body, courtesy of the soap and shampoo. I grabbed the fluffy white towel and wrapped it around my body, suddenly realizing I forgot to bring any clothes inside and didn't even have them removed on the bed.

I slowly opened the door, peeking outside, fingers crossed to not see Colton's half-naked body on the bed. That would just set this new demon haywire.

My eyes furrowed at the pile of clothes laid on the corner of the bed, they looked red with frills. "Well, that's new." I whispered to myself, stepping into the empty bedroom.

As I picked the clothes I felt myself fuming. "A red babydoll! Are you shitting me?" I shouted, knowing he was near enough to hear it.

And truthfully enough I heard an evil cackling response.

"Hell to the no." I snorted, going to the cupboard and hunting for my luggage but it all just his. That asshole made sure I would have no option but to wear this. Well, you are in for a surprise Hastings!

Pulling out his light blue shirt I wore it with the red thong from the Victoria's Secret babydoll. I stared at myself in the huge mirror, the shirt reached just beneath my butt, and if I moved you could see the red panties through the light blue color, and with no bra, my nipples could be seen. With zero make-up and slightly wet hair, I looked sexy, I felt sexy, sexier than ever.

Vaguely I wondered if I should have worn the red lingerie instead of this but I didn't want to give Colton the satisfaction of smirking while he saw me in it. Instead, he could go all nuts by seeing me in this.

This was going to throw him off guard, he was going to be hard all through dinner. I was counting on it.

Taking a deep breath, I smirked, my eyes shining with anticipation and sexual desire. I still remembered notes from my 'How to seduce a guy' search.

Men love women wearing their clothes.

Plus they are so freaking comfortable. This is why you need a guy, just so you can steal his clothes.

"Let's do this, make him crave for this." I whispered to myself in the mirror. My sex demon was already stark naked, spread-eagle on the bed, ready for Colton to ravish her.

"Holy fuck." Was Colton's response as soon as I entered the kitchen. His eyes hungrily scanned my legs and my chest, just the primitive desire in them made me hot and clench my inner muscles. I gulped, trying to not think ways of fucking him right here, right now on the damn kitchen counter. "What's for dinner?"

"Um." He cleared his throat. "Spaghetti." His voice still sounded raspy, he licked his lips. His eyes went to my upper thighs as I sat on the chair and wriggled to myself more comfortable.

Colton closed his eyes as if in pain and shook his head, turning away. "This is going to be so fucking difficult." I heard him grumble to himself.

I smiled, hanging my low so he couldn't see it. Just the fact that I could have the same effect on him as he had on me, made me want him even more.

"Here." He passed a plate of spaghetti towards me with sauce. Sitting opposite me, he stared at me through hooded eyes before looking down at his plate.

I could feel the air surrounding us intensifying, almost electrifying. With the breath I took, I could feel his eyes on me, I could feel the desire pooling inside of me. With shaky hands I managed to eat a few bites of the spaghetti, I almost moaned at the delicious taste.

"This is so good." I sighed in pleasure, my eyes half closing.

It was all that took Colton to unabashedly lose control, he slammed the fork on his plate, stalked towards a shocked myself, and gripped my upper arms, pulling me off the chair. "Fuck food, I'll eat you."

With that his mouth descended on me, claiming me, devouring me. It took me less than two seconds to respond to his fervent kiss. I kissed him back, matching his eagerness and intensity. His fingers traced my upper thighs but his eyes didn't once leave mine. I could already feel the wetness in my panties and with no control in me, the only thing I could gasp out was. "Okay."

I blushed, blood rushing to my face and I gulped, squirming on the bed.

Colton reached for the nightstand drawer and pulled out a box. I stared at it in horror. "A full box?" My voice sounded so squeaky.

He pulled one out. "Relax it's not for tonight." He opened the packet pulling it. "There are around 50 in it. Should last the whole weekend."

My eyes widened. "50!?" I should call Simone and ask her to buy that wheelchair.

Sheathing himself he looked at me innocently. "Well, we gotta cover every inch of this house babe."
