After about thirty minutes, the doctor permitted us to go in and see Andy as long as we would be quiet and not touch anything.

We went in quietly and the next sound heard was the sobbing from his mother. I felt downcast immediately.

So she really cares about him this much? No wonder she was so keen on having him escape the heartbreak of dating a black girl. She doesn't want him to get hurt

Andy's head was bandaged and his leg too. A few band aids were on his face and elbows, must be where he sustained bruises and abrasions.

I sighed as his mother went to touch his hand

Andy's mom : my love, I hate seeing you like this. You know how I always feel bad whenever your dad hurts you. Howbeit seeing you like this?

She sniffed and rubbed his hand. I felt my eyes stinging me. I'm gonna cry

Loretta held my arm and gave a long sigh

Me: he'll be okay before two weeks is over

His mother looked at me

Andy's mom: I hope so

She wiped her tears and sat down on a long stool. I went closer and stood by the other side. I smiled as I stared intently at his face. The boy still looks good. I looked at his head where a streak of blood had formed. Thank God he's not bleeding too much, the doctors might have controlled it.

Loretta : when would he wake up?

Me: if not tonight then tomorrow morning. It won't be long since he's now steady

Andy's mom : it seems you have knowledge about this sort of stuff

I nodded

Me: I want to be a medical doctor.... So I have ideas about these things

She nodded and looked at Andy's face.

The door opened and a doctor and Andy's father walked in. The room will be too crowded now so Loretta and I should go out for enough oxygen

I held her hand and signalled for us to go outside. We gently slipped out and sat on the waiting bench. My mind raced back to Anibe. I wonder what he's doing about those trailers. I should call him

I called him and he picked immediately

I sighed and rubbed my right temple

I hung up and tucked the phone in my pocket.

Me: Loretta I'll be back later. Take care okay?

Loretta: sure

She smiled. I hugged her and stood up. I took a few steps when I heard my name. I looked back, it was Andy's mother. She closed the door and hurried towards me

Me: yes ma'am

Andy's mom : Ugwa

She sighed.

Andy's mom : I'm really sorry for the way I treated you at first. I only wanted what was best for Andy. But I'm really sorry for acting that way. Please forgive me

I smiled

Me: I don't have anything against you. I understood you just wanted to protect Andy. If a mother isn't protective of her son then who will? I'm not holding anything against you ma'am

Andy's mom : are you sure about that?

Me: yes

She smiled

Andy's mom: thank you. I... I hope we can be friends

Me: of course. It would be great

Andy's mom : thank you so much. And you can just call me auntie if you wish

Me: all right. Auntie

She chuckled

Andy's mom : I'll go inside now

I nodded and she smiled and left. Loretta walked up to me

Loretta : congrats

I chuckled and punched her shoulder slightly then hurried away. I have to get Anibe

Me: I'm okay

Mom : you don't look okay

Me: I'm fine

Mom: I heard your father's net worth falls by 30% of his assets. What happened? He just went up few months ago

Me: yeah. A company he partnered with withdrew him

Mom: do you know why?

Me: he didn't tell me but I know he's pretty angry about it

Mom: angry? Then that partnership meant a lot to him

Me: yes. The company is the richest and most successful and all other CEO's have been battling to be a part of it.

Mom: why would he be withdrawn without a cause?

Me: he must have done something

Mom: normally he shouldn't care about that, he has enough money to buy this country

Me: that's illegal money. He can't account for it so he can't add it to his belongings

I looked at the counter blankly and my mind trailed off. Why would Unugwa's dad throw him off? I thought they were getting along. I don't trust dad, he might have been damaging AUC. I know I should have taken this issue into consideration a long time ago, I think dad is envious of that company. A company that hid his face for so long. And when they eventually relocated here, it was even worse competition. Dad couldn't compete against them because Mr Achimugu had his own experience and he had numerous companies around the globe. It was easy for him to grow the one here successfully.

Mom: what are you thinking?

Me: nothing. I think I have to go now. I have to do something

Mom: be careful Daniel. And don't let your anger issues prevail against you

I smiled

Me: I'll try

Mom: I love you dear

My adrenaline rush got to the highest phase. Someone just told me the words I never heard growing up.

I didn't know how to reply.

She stood up and smiled at me then left. I heaved a long slow sigh and smiled. I have enough energy to lift the planet Earth up on my index finger

I parked my car and looked around

Is this where Anibe is?

I looked at my phone and the GPS tracker was still beeping red. It means he's here

Me: Anibe!

He came out of an alley. My heart came down

Me: Anibe

I ran to hug him

Me: thank God you're okay

Anibe : I told you I was okay

Me: how did you get them off you?

Anibe : ohh, well a friend helped me... Rogue! Come and say hi to my sister!

Me: who's Rogue?

Anibe : the guy who helped me

I saw someone walking out from the alley so I looked.

Me: whoah

A dude with a long dark hair, in a pony tail. He had a tattoo poking out from his chest to his neck. He was smoking and I could see a gun tucked into his trouser

Me: that guy is your friend?

Anibe : yep

He turned me around. The guy looked at me with an expression I couldn't fathom.

Me: uh hi

Rogue : hi

Me: thanks for helping my brother

Rogue : does good looks run in your family?

Anibe : maybe

Rogue : your sister is so sexy. Look at those slim sexy legs. How about you open them for me?

Oh my God! I'm gonna puke. Eww!

I shifted back and Anibe chuckled

Anibe : I told you, you shouldn't come here

Me: can we go now?

Anibe : Rogue, I'll see you tomorrow.

Rogue : I'm not coming to school tomorrow. Or on Monday

Anibe : truant!

He laughed and dragged in his cigarette then looked at me and puffed it out, still looking at me. .

Rogue : what's your name?

Anibe : that's enough. Bye

He pushed me towards my car. He opened the door and I sat in. He went through the other side and entered then started the car

He turned the car to face the street

Rogue: thanks for the car!

Anibe : you're welcome

Then he drove into the street and winded up the glass

Me: who the hell was that?

Anibe : just a guy I know from college

Me: and how did he help you?

Anibe : by pointing two guns at the guys that followed me... You know what, I'll give you the full gist later

Me: so what happened to the people that followed you

Anibe : swimming... They're swimming

Me: please stop joking and answer me

Anibe : I said I'll give you the full gist later. I just wanna know who Eden Alberto is

Me: what concerns you with Daniel's dad? Wanna work with him? You know dad told me that he has been stealing from the company. Dad wasn't happy I made him partner with a thief

I lifted my fingers and began blowing air on them, they were dusty

Anibe : oh shit!

He banged his hands on the steering wheel

Me: hey what was that for?

Anibe : first, for finding out that Eden Alberto is Daniel's father. Second, for the riffle that's pointed at us from that car. It's the same model with the one that followed me, probably from the same person

I looked at the place he pointed to, a gun was truly pointed at us

Me: oh come on you're not sure it's for us

Just then a bullet wheezed through the air and hit the car. I screamed loudly.

Anibe : hold on tight. Don't chicken out

Then he brought out a gun.

Me: Jesus Christ! Anibe you have a gun!

Anibe : chill it's Rogue's. He gave me, just in case. Now move to the back

I quickly moved to the back seat and he winded down the window from the seat I just came from. He pointed the gun out and began to drive really fast. By this time, bullets were raining on our car.

This is no longer a brother-sister drive. It's Fast and Furious
