Chapter 133
Alice maneuvered her car as fast as she could into her compound. She noticed Sofia's car wasn't in the parking lot. Her heart skipped a beat. This wasn't a good sign. Rather than move in and park the car like she had intended to do, she turned around and drove out once again.
Maybe Sofia had gotten mad at her and she had returned to her apartment. She moved through the stream of cars as best as she could and got to her sister's place. The car was parked by the entrance making it impossible for her to park properly. The only good thing was, she was home.
Alice found a spot to park her car a few blocks away from Sofia's house and got down from the car. she walked the small distance and entered the building. She took the elevator and tapped her legs impatiently as it elevated her to the penthouse above where her younger sister stayed. The building was owned by their father and though Sofia didn't know this, it was willed to her. Most of the things she had inherited was not given to her yet because her parents wanted her to get more serious with the family business. Alice had been trying her best to carry her along all of these stages of her life, but Sofia was just too stubborn.
Alice walked to he front door and rang the bell.
"Who is it?"
She heard her sister's whisper from the mouth piece attached to the wall.
"Sofia it's me," Alice said hoping the door would open. Sometimes Sofia refused to speak to everybody for days just because they were advising her against Ethan who didn't even care for her.
The door suddenly opened and Sofia stood with narrowed eyes gazing at her sister. "What do you want now? I don't have time to talk to people who give up easily!" She hissed.
"Sofia, I am glad that you are already. You scared me so much!" Alice said pulling her sister in for a hug
Sofia pushed her aside and glared at her as if her body had worms attached to it. "Why are you pretending to care for me Alice? Why?" Sofia snapped.
Alice was shocked! She didn't know what to say.
"Huh?" She whispered.
"Yes, I am tired of the fake love and fake attention! Why are you here? To check if the dreadful child is doing okay?" Sofia snapped.
Alice didn't even realize tears had flooded her eyes until her vision became blurry. "Sofia what are you talking about?" She croaked out.
"I am saying the very thing you and daddy refuse to say out loud. You think j am an embarrassment of a child! You think I am useless huh?"
"No! No! Sofia why would you say such things?" Alice cried out. She stepped into the house and tried to hold her sister but Sofia pushed her hands away.
"I am not blind Alice! Just because I choose to ignore everything that happens in this family doesn't mean I am a fool!" She spat with venom.
"Sofia!" Alice exclaimed. She could t believe Sofia was the one saying all of these things. She loved her sister and that was unconditional. No one could dispute that.
"Do not shout at me! I am going to get married and I am going to come get my inheritance of course I will also make Ariana pay. You will see!" Sofia said with raised fingers pointed at her sister.
"Who got all these crazy ideas into your head?" Alice wondered out loud. This was not her you get sister. Someone had done something to her. "What happened to you?"
"No,what happened to you! Alice I loved you with all of my heart! I left everything for you but you refused to fight by me!" Sofia snarled
Alice was confused. Was all this outburst because of Ariana? Was it all because she refused to take her side?
"Sofia, you are wrong..." Alice trailed wiping the tears that threatened to glow out of her eyes.
"I am wrong?" Sofia repeated with a psychotic laughter. "I am not wrong Alice! You are wrong! You are getting everything wrong because you are selfish! You only do what is good for you Alice and never me!"
"What?" Alice cried out. She was like a confused puppet player in a circus. Sofia threw different accusations at her without giving her a break. There was nothing she could understand except the fact that her sister now needed psychological help. She would need to speak with their father.
"You heard me right! You only fought with Ariana because you thought you would be able to get Calhoun! Once he offered you something in return you left me behind on the battle field! You took my enemy's side!" Sofia screamed.
Alice held her head as she tried to calm it from spinning with questions.
"Sofia, can we try to sit down and talk about this like civilized people?" She asked her sister.
"No, we can't talk about this! You and I lost everything the moment you chose Ariana over me!" Sofia screamed at the top of her lungs.
"How did I pick Ariana over you? Sofia, I could never do that! I chose the company over Calhoun, that's what I did not what you are saying. You were never an option!" Alice snapped too.
"Whatever you are thinking is wrong! I love you and I would always stand by you! I will never let you go and fight the world on your own! What sort of sister will that make me?"
Sofia was quiet as she allowed her sister's words to sink into her head. Alice was just playing her. She was good at games like that. Everything she said was wrong. Sofia was smarter. She would not fall for her antics.
"Alice, I would like to rest now. If you don't mind, leave my apartment," Sofia said in a low dangerous voice.
"You are asking me to leave your apartment?" Alice questioned in a low voice.
"Yes, you heard me right!" Sofia said sternly before throwing the door closed.
