Chapter 81
"No!" She screamed. "I will make that fool suffer!" Alice said through clenched teeth.
She was pacing around her room looking like an angered cat. How could Calhoun allow his cheap road side dog to treat her like that?
"Alice, calm down. If you keep pacing and thinking so much, we won't be able to find a solution." Sofia tried to calm her sister from her corner on the bed.
"Do you know what that good for nothing Zion said to me?" Alice exclaimed as she slumped on the bed where Sofia sat. "Do you know what that cheap and ordinary boy said to me, Alice Brentwood of Brentwood industries?" She cried out again.
"What did he say?" Sofia asked. She knew Zion, they were class mates back in highschool. She was shocked to hear he had been the one to trouble her sister that much. Back then Zion was such a gentle little thing. He couldn't hurt a fly.
"The fool told me that I wouldn't be able to see Calhoun! He said he would call the security on me!" Alice fumed. "To make it worst, he bragged of how he graduated with really good grades and I only have what I have today because of my daddy! Can you imagine?"
"What?" Sofia exclaimed raising her brows in shock. "Zion said all of that?" The last time she saw him, it was pretty much when they were in high school. She still couldn't picture that nerdy guy with a red nose and large glasses, as the one with such a big mouth.
"Yes, Zion said all of that!" Alice cried out again as she held her head.
Sofia shook her head in disbelief. But she took a deep breath. They would solve this problem. It was a minor thing.
"Alice, relax. Forget Zion, he is only a pawn. When Calhoun feels he is ready to talk to you, he will. And then, you can find a way to get rid of Zion as punishment. For now, I think the priority should be how we can get Calhoun to talk to you..." Sofia said.
Alice turned to look at her sister and after a while, she touched her hair and nodded. "That is a good suggestion. I should ficus my energy in Calhoun not Zion."
"Why did you want to see Calhoun anyway?" Sofia asked suddenly. She knew that her sister was in love with the business mogul. Anything that screamed money and power was a dead bait for Alice Brentwood, and Sofia knew this.
"I wanted to talk to him about Ariana. His secretary's reply to my mail was not satisfactory. I don't want anyone to employ that fool..." Alice said with a wace of her hand.
Sofia stared at her sister with admiration in her eyes. She went through all those insults just to deal with Ariana for her. "Oh, Alice," she exclaimed her voice shaking with emotions. "You are such a cupcake!" She said hugging Alice.
"Aww, I'll do more than that for you, just say the word." Alice hugged her back and they stayed like this for a while.
"But Alice, forget Ariana now. She would never get a job at Lawson Group. That place isn't for cheap rats like her... Zion just got lucky," Sofia said after they have pulled apart.
Alice looked at her sister and once again she nodded her head. She was right. Ariana couldn't get a job there. She should focus her energy on better things and not that rat. They had already destroyed her and her story was over.
But how could she get Calhoun?
"Sofia, how do I get to Calhoun though, he doesn't give me the tiniest of chances," she said after thinking so much about it.
"Simple. He must have someone he loves and listens to in his family or his friends. When I wanted to get Ethan so much, I had to befriend Ariana for it. Maybe you need to identify a rat in his life, so that when you become close with this person, Calhoun would have no choice but to be with you..." Sofia said with a smile. It was a foul prove plan she had tried herself. Back in highschool she had tried every means to become friends with Ethan but it didn't work. Not until she dropped her royal outfits and decided to become best friends with the repulsive Ariana. Now she didn't get Ethan completely but she was close to getting him.
"Sofia you think that would work? I don't even know who Calhoun's friends are!" Alice cried out.
Sofia held her sisters hand and stared into her eyes. "Then, I have an assignment to do. He must have someone in his life. He can't be totally lonely can he?"
"I don't know. I have never actually seen him with anyone aside, maybe his grandfather but that man doesn't have so much influence on him. Daddy had already tried talking to him, but Calhoun didn't listen!" Alice retorted. She was already feeling dejected.
Sofia squeezed her hand trying to get her to relax. "Listen, don't give up yet. We will be fine. Look at the bright side, Calhoun doesn't have a girlfriend! He is single. He has to get married someday and you will be the lucky girl!"
Alice smiled at the words of encouragement. "Thank you Sofia. But how will we get under his skin?"
"I told you not to worry. Give me a few days and I'll get you everything you need. In no time, Calhoun will be singing you poems baby girl!" Sofia said with confidence.
She considered this to he her specialty. She didn't have to worry at all. All she had to do was to find out which of his friends or family member he actually cared about. As soon as she did this, then her sister would take over and they would get close.
Calhoun Lawson would wed Alice Brentwood, that was a promise Sofia made in her heart. It was the one thing she could do for her sister and she would do it.
