Chapter 68
Author's Pov:
The tension in the room was high for the first couple of hours, as there are no raised voices or shouting, just simple conversation that has underlinings of something darker going on because of the subject matter, but when he didn't say anything apart from constantly staring at nothing things got heated up.
He got blows after blows for his silence. The close up of his face was marred with blood, as he got punched again and again on his broken jaw and the next hit was on his bleeding nose making him hiss, that's the first noise he let out after being quiet for so long.
Even after getting beaten up he still looked sinfully beautiful, the cut and the bleed on his eyebrow when they hit him by the wooden stick made him look beastly especially with that look on his face.
His breathing was radiating with anger as he controlled himself from lashing them all out. He could have taken them all by himself yet he didn't. Something was stopping him from doing it.
Maybe he wants to know why he did what he did to him? He trusted him above all yet he betrayed him? And why?
They repeatedly asked him why he killed Aarav and Amrita or why he helped underground dogs for smuggling, yet he kept quiet with a clenched jaw.
Meanwhile Neeraj and his other higher officers watched these scenes through the glass wall that seperated them. They could hear what's happening inside as there was mic setted up all over the places, but the insiders can't see or hear what's happening outside of the room, since the glass walls are made up like that.
Neeraj signalled his officers that he's going inside. This is the first time he's gonna come infront of him after bringing him over here. He also knows just what button to push to get Arjun riled up until he answers, one name is enough to get the words out of him - Ayla.
She's his biggest weakness or maybe coming forth she will be his biggest destruction. It's his own play on getting under Arjun's skin and forcing him to realize that he has no real power now.
He knew what he did to her and how she suffered. He always wanted to help her, but things weren't in his control at that time, not when Arjun was actively on his beast mode. He waited patiently for him to let down his cool and asked Ayla to bare with him for few days or few months and she agreed.
After all he was the one who sent her the note on that day.
(Check Chapter 56 - Ayla received a note from the stranger. Neeraj was the one who sent her the notes. Arjun sent him to check up on her like where she goes and all, but on that day he took that as an opportunity to execute his plans)
When Neeraj entered the investigation room he nodded his head, and asked those authorities for permission to take matter on his hand since he knew Arjun better than them, and instantly the instability is increased.
Then he spends the next thirty minutes interrogating Arjun with polite conservation and all he did was stare at him with a blank face. He should admit Arjun is effortlessly manipulated criminal while still having a charismatic charm to him.
Neeraj never once flinched by his intense stare, or for his glaring, afterall whatever he did back then was a facade. He would shutter badly infront of him which he hated do the most, since it was his job to bring the almighty Arjun, on his knees for the sins he committed he controlled himself and moreover he was trained to do missions like this.
Arjun was once a good child, he always minded his own business and his family legacy was never into illegal business yet when we found the great businessman Arjun getting involve in mafia, so they had to dig deep for more information.
And what they found after that was interesting the man over here was hopelessly in love with his wife that he himself got involved in such business, but after witnessing his madness over her calling it love would be an understatement.
It wasn't a love but a complete obsession. That's what we saw. He could do anything to keep her with him.
Neeraj sighed tapping the table while thinking all these when Arjun didn't opened his mouth to answer. Now he didn't have a choice but to bring Ayla into this conversation.
"So Mr. Arjun, does your wife knows about your illegal activities? How you're helping underground dealers from smuggling" he asked with a smirk on his face. The look Arjun gave him was worth bringing her name into this conversation. Afterall he got some reaction from him "or how you killed two of her friends?" He raised an eyebrow when he saw him punch the table with his chain cuffed hands.
He chuckled while shaking his head "Mr. Arjun, I get that you don't like me mentioning about your wife but it's her friends you murdered. She needs to know" he stated while leaning back folding his arms on of his chest.
He eyed him as he clasped his fists tightly "Don't" he said with his deadly voice.
Neeraj gasped dramatically "Oops, I... I gah gah...got sca- scared... don- don't scare me sir with that look" he shuttered acting and ending up laughing out loud "Oh Mr. Arjun, I'm really afraid" he said while chuckling that made Arjun to gritted his teeth hard which clearly says he's pissed off.
With an clenched jaw and controlling his emotions at bay, Arjun asked him the question that he was dreading to ask for a while "Why?"
Neeraj stroke his hand on his chin as if thinking hard "Well you see Mr. Arjun I'm an undercover agent who was trained to bring out the people who are quiet powerful and hard to get arrested since you all involved in such business. I must admit you people are so good at hiding stuffs. I learnt a lot it in your case, so I guess it might be very helpful for me to achieve my next target sooner" He said which made Arjun look at him with a disbelief.
With a sigh Arjun rubbed his cuffed hands all over his face with frustration. He didn't know what to do, not when all the evidences are pointing at him. He know he was doomed the moment he stepped into this room, and he also knows not even his mafia or illegal business partners will help him.
He never made any friends with them, even though they invited him over and over again to their parties, he made it clear to them that he don't do stuffs like that, afterall it was just a business to him.
He had Ayla so he doesn't want to give his undivided attention to anyone apart from her.
That's the one of the main reason why he got involved because he wanted to secure his relationship with Ayla by doing so he digged his own grave by getting involve in this shitty illegal business.
They heard a knock which made them snapped their head towards the noise.
"Sir, we have a visitor and lawyer, they both wants to talk to Mr. Arjun" a guard said making them both frown.
"Who are they and what relationship they have?" The guard glanced between them, Neeraj nodded his head giving him a permission to say it.
"Mr. Arjun father and his legal lawyer, sir" he said making Neeraj stand.
Ok that was unexpected, he know Arjun has a family of his own but they never get involved in his business even if they knew whatever he had done was wrong. He never once asked him anything it was like they don't mind give a fuck about him.
Neeraj looked at Arjun who smirked back making him clench his fist "I'll be back and you better open your mouth" saying that he stormed out of the room.
As he was going near the entrance of the office he halted seeing Arjun's father and his lawyer "Hi, I'm Lawyer Karan and he is my client's dad. We need to find charges and bail regarding Arjun who I hope is in your custody?" He asked making everyone look at him with a blank face.
They can't show him to them afterall they went against the rule and beat him up to pulp. If they saw that then the case will get turned towards them.
Neeraj stepped forward "Sorry sir, but we can't let you see him" he said which made Arjun's father to taken back.
"You.. you.." he shutter after clearing his throat "Aren't you my son's PA?"
He hide his smile "No sir I'm not. I am an undercover agent working for the government who was in disguise to bring the culprit out of his cage"
He shook his head in disbelief "Great, listen officers my son Arjun Veer Das was arrested about a few ago at home by you. I want to help bail him out, so how can I find out his charges and bail?"
"I guess it won't be that simple to get bail for his sins. He have plenty on his plate" one of the head officer said.
"It's upto us to decide and we would like to know what are the charges you have put against him" his lawyer spoke making us all chuckle.
"Well for the starters he was into illegal business and then smuggling drugs and then killing your daughter in laws friends and whomever come in contacts with your daughter in law and then lastly we have statement from your daughter in law that she was abused through out her life and he raped her not once but regularly" Neeraj finish making Arjun's father to stumble back when he heard killing and raping.
And their lawyer widened their eyes at the revelation. He knew his client was involved in illegal business but he never expected these "No.. No... You're lying he never done that" Arjun's father yelled at them while throwing stuffs around.
His lawyer try to control him but he couldn't grasp whatever he said. This is too much to handle.
"Unfortunately it was true sir. Infact we have proof and we would like to meet you all in the court, so I suggest you to go" he said showing them their way.
"I don't believe you at all. Afterall you fucking prick acted as if his PA, what's the proof of you don't lying. I don't fucking care I know my son and I want to see him" he yelled making them wince at his voice.
Before they could utter anything he shouted again "RIGHT NOW" breathing heavily "I don't believe and I won't believe you guys. My son wouldn't have done that to her. You're all lying because she's in coma just wait and watch when she regains her memory I'll make all of you suffer" he said.
"It's true" they all turned towards the faint melodic voice. Arjun father stormed towards her "My child! I knew it my son wouldn't have done any of it" saying that he hold her wrist softly.
"Come and let them know" he turned made their way to the officers who all looked at him with a pity.
He felt his daughter in law remove his hand from her. He looked back with furrowed eyebrows "It's true uncle. Whatever they said was true. Your son abused and raped me... And and killed my friends too"
His eyes widened at her statement as he stumbled backwards as his knee hit the chair behind him he slumped on it with a look of disbelief.
