His To Begin With

It was as if my head was breaking in pain when I woke up the next day. I groaned when I felt sore all over. My body felt so drained and heavy. I felt so exhausted.

I opened my eyes and saw the white ceiling. My forehead creased. My eyes caught the window that was slightly open on the side of the room, just enough for the sunlight to enter from outside, saying that it was already morning.

My eyes wandered to myself. My eyes widened from the sight. I lifted the blanket and saw that I did not have any clothes on my body.

I sat up and sighed when I saw someone next to me in bed.

Confusion was written on my face while looking at Nicholai, who was still sleeping in the bed, naked.

No! No! No! This couldn’t be happening!

I tried to remember what had happened. The last thing that I remembered, I was at the shore drinking with Nicholai's cousin after he walked out.

Another memory flashed. I was with Nicholai already. We were in the kitchen, and he gave me a glass of water to drink. After that, everything was blurry.

How did I end up sleeping with Nicholai?

I groaned again. My head hurts. Damn liquor! Damn hangover!

I roamed my eyes around the room. This was not the room where I was staying! My eye caught our clothes scattered on the floor.

Fuck! It was so apparent that something really happened between us. I could even feel that I was sore down there.

I cupped my head with both of my hands

Holyshit! Denima! What really happened?

I might have been drunk last night, but there was no way that I would allow myself to sleep with Nicholai.

Nicholai stirred beside me, and I saw how his eyes opened slowly. He looked at my side and smiled.

How could he smile like that to me? Did he plan all of this? How could he do this to me ?!

"What the fuck was happening, Nicholai?! Why did we end up like this?!" I said with gritted teeth. I took the blanket to cover myself.

I saw how his brows furrowed while looking at me. He got up and faced me.

"We made love, Denima. You even liked it," he said with a smug.

"What the fuck, Nicholai?! Made love? Sex, Nicholai. We had sex! I don't love you to make love with you! I don't even remember what happened!" I washed my hand over my face. I was frustrated. I saw how his jaw clenched from what I said.

"I don't care what you called it. But it was obvious that something had happened to us. I might get you pregnant. I didn't use protection."

My eyes widened at what he said. He didn't use protection?! Oh my god!

"You didn't?!" My eyes widened while staring at him. "Did you plan this?" He just stared at me. And I knew right there that he did. "You did! How could you do this ?! You are like a brother to me, Nicholai!" Tears started to run down my cheeks. My hand trembled with anger.

Fuck! What if he got me pregnant? What am I going to do?

Philip's face suddenly popped out of my head, and it made me burst out crying.

Fuck! I fucked up!

"Plan or not. It's already done. We already did it. Stop wailing as if you didn't like what happened between us." He stood up and picked up his clothes on the floor, and changed.

What the hell?!

"You are the worst!" I shouted at him. I harshly wiped the tears from my face and looked at him angrily.

"I know. I thought you already knew that?" he scoffed.

He picked up my clothes and threw them to the bed, close to my side. "Change first, and then we are going to talk about us." He was about to get out of the room when I stopped him.

"You are not going anywhere, not until you tell me why did you do this ?!" I snapped angrily.

His jaw tightened, and his steps were heavy as he approached me. I could see anger in his eyes. I matched his angry stare as he looked at me. If he was angry, well, I was furious because of what happened to us!

I bet he did something unforgivable that was why we ended up in this bed.

I was startled when he climbed on the bed and held both my arms. I winced a bit when he held me tightly. I looked up at Nicholai as he leaned over me while kneeling in front of me.

"You want to know the truth? Yes! I planned it. I was desperate when I saw the fucking ring on your finger!" he said in gritted teeth.

I gazed at my finger and saw the ring that he was talking about. Philip gave it to me. It was our engagement ring. I was already engaged to Philip. He proposed to me a month ago, and I didn't tell anyone about it. We planned to announce it after Philip settled with his firm.

"You are fucking engage, and you didn't even tell me about it!" I frowned as I looked at Nicholai.

"Why do I need to inform you, Nicholai? The last time I checked, we were only friends. We're just childhood friends. You don't have a say about my life and who I want to spend it with!"

Suddenly his grip on my arm tightened more. "Let me go. I'm hurting Nic!" I never saw him act like this before.

"Fuck, friends. Who told you that I only see you as a friend?" I was flabbergasted by what he just said.

"W-What?" What the hell was he talking about?

"Remember this, Denima. You are mine, to begin with. I only let Philip borrow you. And now I'm getting back what was supposed to be mine. You will end up with me no matter what happens. Mark my words."
