I woke up in a car, furrowing my brows in confusion. When I saw it was Vincent driving, I relaxed a little. I then remembered that Stefano and Angelo were shot and they may not make it.
"Stefano? Angelo?" I asked, panicking.
"We don't know yet." Lexi whispered.
I looked in the back to see her sitting in the seat, a sorrowful and worried look on her face. We all became silent after that, drowned in our own thoughts. When we reached the hospital, Lexi and I sprinted from the car. Well, more like Vincent carried me and ran.
We burst through the doors and rushed to the nurse's station, instantly asking questions. The poor nurse looked terrified as we basically demanded answers from her.
"Whoa, relax, are you guys the family of Angelo and Stefano De Rege?"
We all looked over to see an older man smiling at us. Like the shocked idiots that we are, we all nodded.
"Well, Angelo is still in critical condition. The bullet just missed his heart, but caused a lot of internal bleeding in his chest. He's going in for surgery again. As for Stefano, we finally managed to get him stable, but his tachycardia is worrying us." He explained.
"Tachycardia?" I asked.
"When the heart beats faster than normal, it's usually just a minor defect that is monitored. But it can become a problem, especially now. Luckily, we realized he was dehydrated, so, we are putting fluids into his body. That should help. If not, then we'll figure something else out."
"Thank you, we can see Stefano at least?" Vincent asked.
The man nodded, "Yes, but he won't be awake for a while. We put him into a coma to allow his body to heal."
We thanked him, relieved looks were on all our faces. We followed him down a few halls until he guided us into a room. My eyes immediately found Stefano's sleeping form.
He had a breathing tube in, a heart monitor hooked up, an IV in his arm, and a bandage wrapped around his abdomen.
"The stab wound didn't get through muscle, but did cause some blood loss. As to be expected. We didn't have to repair much, but we did clean the wound and stitch it up. We'll change the bandages once a day. If we need to, we'll change them twice a day."
"He was having trouble breathing on his own, even with an oxygen mask, so we had to put a breathing tube in. Which is another reason why he's in a coma. The bullet had damaged a lung, nothing major. He was lucky it only nicked his lung and not go through it. He had bleeding in that lung though. The bullet was lodged in a rib, so, his rib is fractured."
I swallowed, "He'll be okay...right?"
The doctor sighed, "He's not out of the woods until he wakes up. But I know he's a strong guy, so, I have faith he'll pull through."
Vincent nodded, "Thank you, Marco...you know...you should try talking to him when he wakes up."
Marco sighed and glanced at Stefano, "He doesn't want me in his life, I don't blame him though. I was a horrible father..."
My eyes widened, "You're his biological father?"
Marco nodded, "And a terrible one at that. I just...I was so angry with myself for years and I took it out on him. He was just an innocent boy...I..."
"It's not that he hates you, because he doesn't. He hates himself and won't let anyone in." I replied.
"This just turned into a therapy session." Lexi sounded.
We all looked at her, she only shrugged. "It's the truth."
"She has a point." Marco chuckled. "Well, I have to go and check on my other patients."
After he left I frowned, "That was interesting."
I then looked over at my crazy italian, Vincent put me in the chair as I grasped Stefano's limp hand.
"You better wake up soon." I whispered.
Two days.
That is how long Stefano has been in a coma for. I know it isn't a long time, but it feels like decades have gone by. I wanted to see his beautiful grey eyes, hear his husky and deep voice, I want to tell him I love him. I wanted to hug him and know that he's okay, that he's going to make it. I didn't like any of this waiting, it scared me.
I looked up as Lexi walked in, taking a bite of her blueberry muffin while holding my chocolate one. I thanked her as she handed it to me before she took a seat on the couch.
Over the past two stressful days, we've become closer. She's like a sister to me now, after we talked about when we first met. She had actually laughed and told me she loved my attitude. The one thing she told me had me blushing like crazy though.
"He's great at sex, a bit rough, but good at it. Very good. Though, I think Angelo is even better. Maybe that's because we never had just sex, we made love." She had blurted out.
Long story short, I looked horrified and it only caused her to burst out laughing. She even apologized for having sex with him, that it was wrong of her to do. She did have feelings for him a while ago, but once she met Angelo, those feelings had vanished. She was head over heels in love with him and I could tell.
Both of us agreed to leave the past in the past. What had happened is over and now wasn't the time to focus on that. We just want our men to heal and tease us again. Well, for Stefano, it's more like act like a moody pmsing girl.
Aneglo was finally somewhat stable, like Stefano, he's in a coma too. He was a little worse with his breathing, but they had faith that he would get better.
I sighed, "When do you think they'll wake up?"
Lexi glanced at Angelo, "I'm not sure, but I hope soon."
Oh, did I mention they're both in the same room? Yeah, the doctors decided on that. Well, Marco did.
"What are we supposed to do until then? We can't just sit here day and night." I frowned.
"Well, you have a company to get back to. Jade had called multiple times, your mother is currently running it. Along with a very confused Vincent who had a guy hit on him the other day. He was freaking out on the phone." She laughed.
I chuckled, "He needs a lover."
"I know...maybe we should put him on a dating website." She grinned, wiggling her eyebrows.
I laughed, "He would kill us."
"True...we could always get your mom involved."
"We could..."
"No, you two are not hooking me up with anyone." Vincent grumbled as he walked in.
"Awe, come on, let me be an annoying little sister." I pouted.
He raised an eyebrow, "You're already annoying though."
"Asshole." I laughed.
He smirked, "So, no changes?"
"Not yet. Well, Angelo is more stable now." Lexi replied.
I sighed, "I want Stefano to wake up."
"I know sis." Vincent whispered sadly.
"Guys! I accidentally ordered a dildo online!" Hank yelled as he ran in.
I pinched the bridge of my nose, "You cannot just run into a hospital room, yelling about-how the fuck did you accidentally order a dildo?"
Hank bit his lip, "Okay, more like I won one."
"Okay...did you put your address in?"
"Vito did...it's his revenge."
I frowned, "His revenge?"
"I flirted with his girl, I didn't know he was currently dating her!"
Vincent rolled his eyes, "He's married to her!"
"Oh....yeah. Forgot."
I raised an eyebrow, "Go and get a cat scan."
He frowned, "Why?"
"To see if you have a brain in that head of your's."
"Bitch."
"Jerk."
"Dildo lover." Lexi grinned.
He flashed her a glare, "You're a bitch."
"Thank you."
"I can't win today!" He groaned.
We all laughed as he slumped in a chair and pouted.
