Chapter 60

Avery's POV.

I left the bathroom to find Leilani waiting for me.

"Ready for the picnic?" She asked eagerly.

I shrugged my shoulders and went to sit on my dressing table.

The picnic was planned three weeks ago but it wasn't possible due to the pack issue that had escalated.

The other pack threatened to attack us due to some trivial issues due to absence of an alpha by my side but I had proved them wrong.

I handled the issue amicably and Leilani was of great help.

Shannon had been on my neck about the picnic for two days... I decided to drag my ass out of the pack today.

We're having a picnic in the human world.

Shannon claimed that I need a break but I know she has other plans for me.

I had Xander and Leilani with me and I'm not afraid of anything.

My relationship with Xander has grown well and I was still trying to get closer with Erik.

The guy wasn't so hard to get, besides he wanted something from me.

"So, how would you like to look today?" Leilani's voice interrupted my thoughts.

I gave a wry smile.

"Just make me look good." I muttered and she nodded and got to work.

I love the feel of her hand on my body and I'm glad I have her at this odd time in my short life.

I'll miss her once I'm gone.

"Have you sent the oil to Shannon?" I asked.

I'm glad Shannon wants to smell good,her odd smell is suffocating and I despise it.

"Yes, Luna." She answered simply and continued with her work.

It's already a few minutes to four PM and I'm having doubts about returning to the pack today.

"Pack extra clothes for me and you alright?"

"Okay, Luna Avery." She answered and left.

I texted Erik and Shannon to pack extra clothes too.

I just had to dress up and go wait for the others.

I went to my phone and dial Xander's number.

"Hay bae, pack extra clothes for tomorrow. I think we'll spend the night." I said onto the phone.

"Ok love." Came the short reply and he ended the call.

I pray to the goddess to help me get some resourceful information in this journey.

"All set my Luna." Leilani announced.

I headed to the dressing room and changed.

"Is that what you're gonna wear?" I asked Leilani as I came out.

She shook his head and I chuckled.

"Seriously? There's no way you're dressing that way. I've got your wardrobe filled...go back and look beautiful or I'll dress you myself." I ordered and she took a bow and left.

She's like a sister that I never had, she can't dress like a servant while I'm around.

"How about this?" She asked a few minutes later and I nodded in satisfaction.

"Let's head down...Shannon is already buzzing my phone with calls." I said and she chuckled and grabbed our bags.

I offered to help but as usual..she refused my help.

"Hey guy!" I waved at Erik and Shannon.

Erik's eyes razed over me as if he wanted to devour me.

"You look great babe." He said, coming to give me a hug.

I hugged him back and pecked him.

He smiled and grabbed my hand.

"You smell so good." He commented.

"Thank you dear."I muttered.

Leilani greeted, Erik gave a nod and as usual... Shannon ignored her.

I began to look around.

"Are you expecting someone?" Shannon asked.

"Yep sis, I'm expecting someone." I replied and she arched an eyebrow at me.

"Hi..." Xander waved from afar.

He was looking so hot that I wanted to devour him right away.

"Are you kidding me???" Shannon asked with annoyance.

"Nope sis, I invited him. He's my guest." I said and started walking towards the car.

Leilani followed me.

I could see that Erik had a frown on his face from the corner of his face but he walked towards the car front door and opened it for me.

"Nahh, I'll stay at the back." I said and opened the back door and slid in.

Leilani got in with me and Shannon muttered angrily and got in the back seat with us.

She gave Leilani a deadly stare, the poor thing flinched and shifted closer to me.

The car has enough space for four but Shannon has just been a MF.

"Can I drive?" Xander asked Erik who glared at him and threw the key at him without muttering a word.

Well...that went better than I expected.

I mused to myself and relaxed my head.

This is gonna be a long boring drive.

I wish it's just the three of us; me, Leilani and Xander.

It would have been a dream come true.

Xander dumped our baggage at the back and entered the driver's seat.

Erik muttered a curse and entered the front seat.

The drive was boring just like I predicted.

Shannon continued giving deadly glare to Leilani.

I had to change seats with Leilani because the girl wasn't comfortable sitting so close to her.

I sat in between the two till we reached our building in the human world.

"Can we just sit around and play games today? I'm exhausted." I suggested as we have dinner in silence.

"I'm not in the mood to play games with anyone... I want to rest." Shannon said and stood up.

I guess she's still angry with me for bringing Xander.

Too bad, because I don't care.

"Leilani, come with me, I need a massage." She ordered.

Dammit!

Leilani is my maid and not anyone's servant.

Leilani looked at me for permission and I nodded.

"She'll come once she finishes her dinner Shannon." I said when Leilani made to stand up.

"Whatever...just make sure she comes." She said and left.

"Can we go on a walk,Luna." Erik asked me and it took me by surprise.

"Uhmmm, of course." I answered and he gave me a smile and left the dining area.

"I'll be back." He muttered as he left us.

I looked towards Xander and his eyes were burning.

I forced a smile for him.

He grunted and left the dining room.

Leilani leaned closer and whispered, "you should explain more to him, he's a very jealous mate."

"I know, but I need to get closer to Erik." I whispered back.

"I'll get going now before your sister will gouge my eyes out. Once you're done, drop the plate... I'll clear everything once I'm done with her." She said and I nodded.

"Ready?" Erik asked a few minutes later.

"Yeah."

I followed him out of the house and he immediately buckled his hand in mine.

I suppressed every anger in me and tried to act normal.

I'll have to do this for myself and my pack.

I kept assuring myself.

Erik walked me back to my room and I invited him in.

My room here wasn't as big as the one in my pack.

"Nice room." He commented and I smiled a thank you.

We sat down and discussed what seemed like gibberish to me for almost thirty minutes.

Suddenly, he pulled me closer to him, startling me.

"You're very beautiful Avery and I've had eyes on you for a long time." He said in a husky voice.

"Uhmmm, thanks." Was all I could reply.

Without a warning, he leaned in and used his tongue to lick my neck.

The action shocked me and I immediately withdrew from his hold and stood up.

He stood after me and didn't allow me to stand properly when he grabbed me and crashed his lips on mine.

His kiss was dominating and hard.

I felt bitter by the closeness that I tried to push him off from me but he wouldn't budge.

I don't want to use my supernatural powers on him again so I decided to play dumb.

He didn't give up.

I know he's not the type to give up, I was married to him before.

He pinched my nipples hard and I let out a painful whimper which gave him an opportunity to thrust his tongue into my mouth.

He held me tighter and ground his arousal onto me.

Xander would kill me if he saw this.

He picked me up and lay me on the bed still kissing him.

‘Play along and get rid of him fast, our mate won't find this funny if he sees this.’ Kira's voice rang in my head and I immediately complied.

I kissed him back and he gave a low moan when I grabbed his hair and took charge of the kissing.

I know his weak points and I'll have to use it on him.

He broke the kiss and stared at me, his eyes glowing.

"Avery... I have feelings for you." He confessed as his hands started caressing my boobs.

I fake moan.

"Erik....uhmmm, can you give me time please. This isn't the right place for all these. Besides, Leilani would soon come." I muttered and he looked confused.

"She won't..." He said almost breathlessly.

"How are you sure? We'll share the same room." I said feigning surprise.

I know both he and Shannon had planned all these.

To keep Leilani away from me so Erik would have sex with me and get closer.

Well..sad luck to them... I'm no longer a puppet.

"Ohhmmm..she's with Shannon." He replied nervously.

"I know but she'll come back soon, so you need to go...we'll talk about this tomorrow...please." I said and kissed his lips again.

He stood up with a grunt of frustration, his dick bulging out.

Odd...I'm not even turned on for him.

"Good night Luna. I'll be waiting for you tomorrow." He said and left.

I stood up and locked the door, and headed straight for the showers.

I need to get his scent off me or Xander would be provoked if he finds out.
