Firstly, the Tan family did not have any money, and secondly, they were incapable of talking nicely to other people. When things were in their favor, they would behave arrogantly and look down on others. They would talk down to people loudly and boorishly.

"Let's sum up the amount of money which the Tan family had borrowed from us in the past five years. One must put the saddle on the right horse. We'll ask them to repay all the money they owe us. Otherwise, we'll file a police report," Xia Wen said firmly.

Tan Jing looked at Xia Wen and said, "Do you intend to drive my parents to their graves! They're already so old and you want them to scramble to pay the debts! How do you want them to live for the rest of their lives!"

"Is this a bad time?" Qiao Mei whispered as she gently pushed open the door.

Xu Lan hurriedly got up to let Qiao Mei in. Xia He followed behind Qiao Mei. When Xia He woke up and heard that Xia Mao and Xu Lan were looking for her and had asked her to go to the study, she asked Qiao Mei to join her. She was a little afraid to go into the study alone.
