After Feng Hua arrived early in the morning, she did not go in to disturb the couple while they were sleeping. She quietly packed up the two children’s belongings in the living room outside before going to settle Qiao Mei’s discharge procedures.

Qiao Mei had left a sum of money with Feng Hua. This was because Feng Hua needed money to buy groceries for meals, replenish daily necessities, repair any worn out furniture and buy all kinds of items for the house.

If they did not do it this way, Feng Hua would have to come to Qiao Mei with a list every day to get the money for expenses. Although some families liked to do it this way, whereby every issue and each cent had to be reported, Qiao Mei felt that it was really too troublesome. She decided to just give some money to Feng Hua and let Feng Hua spend it at her own discretion. Feng Hua could then ask Qiao Mei for more when she had spent all the money.

Qiao Mei simply gave Feng Hua 5,000 dollars and told her to only report it when she had spent all the money. If there was anything they needed to get for the house, Qiao Mei wanted her to buy good quality items that were similar to what they had in the past and not the cheap stuff.
Previously, Liu Fen had reminded Qiao Mei to check on Feng Hua’s accounts from time to time, so that Feng Hua would not get greedy and get up to no good.

Qiao Mei felt that if she decided to hire someone, she must trust the person. If there was not even the most basic trust between them, then what was the point of hiring the person? She should just hire someone she trusted!

She felt very much at ease with having Feng Hua in charge. Sometimes, in order to buy things for Qiao Mei, Feng Hua would even chip in with her own money! Therefore, she was not calculative with Feng Hua. Even if Feng Hua stole tens of dollars, it was not a big deal to her.

Xu Lan and Liu Fen came to the ward with many bags of items. Even though everyone knew that Qiao Mei was going to be discharged today, those who did not know better would think that they were going to be hospitalized, going by the amount of things that they brought!

“Are Xia Fan and Xia Xing ready? It’s still cold out there and the two children must not catch a chill. They must be wrapped up tightly. I’ve prepared these blankets and clothes for the children. Put them on for the children later,” Xu Lan instructed.

“Sure, I’ll go and get a nurse to put the clothes on for the children now,” Feng Hua said.

Qiao Qiang and Xia Jun were still playing chess in the ward next door. The two old men did not bring much with them. They only had three sets of clothes each and it would all fit into one bag.

Xu Lan and Liu Fen sat in the living room and did not even dare to breathe loudly, worried that they would wake Qiao Mei and Xia Zhe up. The two of them also did not dare to go next door to take a look at Qiao Qiang and Xia Jun. What if the two men became unhappy and started reprimanding them?
