“I found a set of toys which I heard is popular with young kids. They’re all novel items that the Xia family has never seen before. I asked Jia Zhong to send them over, but I heard that Xu Lan quietly got rid of the set after accepting it. The items did not end up in Qiao Mei’s hands,” Huo Gao reported.
He Ning did not get into a bad mood because of this. For something which he had already given away, it was none of his business how the recipient dealt with it. It had nothing to do with him anymore.
“Find a way to let He Mei and Ma San contact each other. Get the two of them to work together to find something for the Xia family to do,” He Ning said nonchalantly, as if he was talking about something as ordinary as going out to buy groceries.

His plan was to start with Xia Zhe and make the family disintegrate from the inside so that he could be the one to reap the benefits.
Although whatever happened to Qian’e would not have any direct impact on Qiao Mei, she would not sit back and do nothing. After all, if anything happened, she would lose her family’s two teachers. Her younger siblings still needed their teachers around for guidance and it had been so difficult to find someone suitable.

Qian’e had waited for Zheng Peng to come and look for her, but he was now locked up by the Zheng family. He had no means of communication and could not contact Qian’e at all.
“Let me out! How can you restrict my freedom! I’m a human being, not the Zheng family’s dog! You can’t treat me like this!” Zheng Peng roared.
