1414 Nothing Happened



"Then why was Shao Yin so shocked just now?" Qiao Mei immediately asked.

Shao Chun gnashed her teeth and stared at Qiao Mei. Why was this wretched girl so talkative! She should have sent this girl away earlier and not let her have a chance to speak in the room!

"That… that's because of us! There were so many of us in the room staring at her. Of course she would feel afraid, especially since she just woke up!" Shao Chun explained.

Qiao Mei secretly sized up Bian Duo. Given that something like this had happened to her own daughter, she did not say or do anything but only just stood at the side and kept quiet. It was Shao Chun, who was only Shao Yin's aunt, speaking up for Shao Yin. These people from the Shao family were really a strange bunch.

"Is that so? Auntie, didn't you say earlier that Shao Yin always falls asleep if she drinks alcohol and won't be able to get up until past noon the next day? Why is she awake so early this time round?" Qiao Mei asked curiously.

"Maybe… maybe Shao Yin woke up in fright! When we quarreled outside just now, it was so loud that it might have frightened Shao Yin!" Bian Duo said.

It did not matter whether Shao Yin woke up or not. The most important thing now was not to find out if Shao Yin was actually drunk earlier, but to find out if Shao Xian and Shao Yin had done something wrong together!

"The two of them had done such a shameful thing in my house! I don't think the wedding can still proceed!" Qiao Mei said angrily.

"Why not! Whether it can proceed or not is up to the elders in the family to decide! What you say doesn't count!" Bian Duo said as she pointed at Qiao Mei.

Xu Lan stepped forward and said, "I'm sure I can be considered an elder in the family! I can decide on this matter! Our Xia family will not allow Xia Xing to become related to the Shao family!"

"You're not Xia Xing's mother. You're just his aunt-in-law. You don't have any right!" Shao Chun said.

"My husband is the eldest son of the Xia family! He takes care of all the important matters in the Xia family. Xia Xing's mother has already left the family, so I can make the decision for him! Even if my husband is here, he will also feel the same way!" Xu Lan said firmly.

Bian Duo was so taken aback that she almost fainted. Fortunately, Huang Ning caught her in time. Shao Chun had to step forward and say, "It might not be our family's fault in this matter. The two of them did not look like they did anything!"

"There's a man and a woman lying naked on the same bed, and yet it's fine just because you say so? Besides, the two of them are born from different parents. In our village, many men marry their cousins when they can't find a wife! You don't seem to care that you don't make sense!" Qiao Mei said.

Xia He quickly added, "That's right! You were the ones who came to ask us to catch them in the act just now. Now, you're the ones saying that the two of them did not do anything. You simply twist the facts to suit your story! You can't do that!"

"They're related by blood! What you say doesn't apply! Can Shao Yin be blamed for this? Perhaps the men had too much to drink and brought him to the wrong room?" Shao Chun argued.

Xia He laughed loudly as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world. She looked at Shao Chun and asked, "If you're saying that my eldest brother and Uncle Shao carried Shao Xian into the wrong room, then why did the two of them go to the room next door themselves? Or was it Uncle Shao who had designs on Shao Yin?"

"You're spouting nonsense! How can you slander my husband! Don't talk rubbish if you don't have any evidence! My husband is already so old, what can he do!" Huang Ning said agitatedly.

Xia He shrugged and said, "Who knows…"

"It's still too early to tell if it's really slander! The story that your Shao family is telling is full of loopholes! You say that your Shao family members have a habit of sleeping naked! Then Shao Tu should be naked in the room next door too!" Xu Lan said as she glared at the women.

Shao Chun and the others broke out in cold sweat. Even if they wanted to refute, they could not find any explanation. There was no way for them to cover up the lie they told just now.

Qiao Mei immediately told Xu Kang to go to the room next door to see if Shao Tu was properly dressed or not. When Xu Kang entered the room, she saw him lying spread-eagle on the brick bed and sleeping soundly! He did not bother to cover himself with a blanket and did not even take off his shoes before falling asleep.

"Both men have their clothes on," Xu Kang reported when she returned.
