1453 A Shabby Restaurant

Chen Mu was not just the Xia family's chauffeur. Similar to Luo Yu, although both of them worked for the Xia family, they were considered members of the Xia family. They were both trusted aides and also good friends with Xia Wen and the others.

"Eldest Miss, why are you still so unhappy? Do you want me to sing you a song?" Chen Mu teased.

"Shoo, shoo, shoo! You still dare to call me Eldest Miss. I was so shocked just now that my eyes almost fell out! You came at the right time though! But… how did you know to come and pick me up?" Xia He asked curiously.

"Qiao Mei gave Xia Wen a call. She said that you were in trouble and asked me to hurry over to provide you with support. That's why I rushed over to pick you up. You've caused me to miss out on a date with a girl!" Chen Mu said sadly.

Xia He smiled faintly. Qiao Mei really knew her the best and knew that she would be in trouble tonight, so she specially found a "divine soldier" to come and save her!

"On account of the fact that you haven't forgotten about your friends after having a lover, I'll get my eldest brother to give you an additional bonus next month! However… which family's daughter is willing to accept an old bachelor like you! What a joyous occasion it is. When the time comes, I'll definitely give you a fat red packet!" Xia He said happily.

"I save you and yet you still call me an old bachelor! Do you believe that I can send you back now and let that man torture you?" Chen Mu threatened.

Xia He immediately said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I won't dare to do it again. Don't send me back!"

"Who's that kid? It can't be the Deng Fan that your brother told me about, right? He's too… not very good-looking. Why do you fancy such a guy? What are you thinking?" Chen Mu said disdainfully.

"Nonsense! That's not Deng Fan! My fiancé is handsome and suave. He doesn't look like that! That's an insult to him!" Xia He said angrily.

"I'm just joking…" Chen Mu said fearfully. The combativeness of a woman in love was very scary. He could not even pass a few casual remarks. However, based on Xia He's taste, her partner's looks would not be too bad. After all, Xia He had taken a fancy to Kong Lu because of his good looks back then and had been so charmed by that scumbag.

Chen Mu drove carefully and soon arrived at the venue of the class reunion. It was not a very fancy place, just a simple little restaurant. It was even hard to tell if it was big enough to accommodate all those old classmates!

"Is… is your class reunion really being held here?" Chen Mu asked in disbelief as he pointed at the small restaurant.

Xia He was also a little stunned. She had thought that they would be dining at one of the top 10 restaurants in the capital. After all, their classmates from back then were all doing quite well now.

"I don't know… Let's not criticize someone else's choice…" Xia He said helplessly.

"Do you need me to come and pick you up later? I'm worried that it's not safe for you to go back by yourself," Chen Mu said, frowning as he thought of the man from earlier.

"It's fine. I'll call you if I need anything, but I have to trouble you to go to my workplace to bring my bicycle home. I still need it to go to work tomorrow!" Xia He said with some frustration.

"Got it. Be careful." After saying that, Chen Mu watched Xia He enter the small restaurant and then went to move the bicycle back to Qiao Mei's house as Xia He had instructed.

Xia He looked at the clothes that she was wearing. She had wasted all the time she took to pick out such nice clothes.

"Who is this person?"

"Is she on our list?"

"I don't know. Do any of you know her? Is she anyone's family member?"

The people there looked at Xia He as they talked among themselves. Xia He had transferred out from the school a long time ago and did not make many good friends when she was in this class. Her friends were all people she met later in the art school.

Xia He stood nervously in the middle of the hall. She felt like a clown that everyone was laughing at. She was sure that no one would remember her even if she told them her name.

Song Dan had probably lied to her. No one seemed to remember her, so why would anyone invite her?

"You are all already here!" Song Dan walked in happily from the main door. Xia He remained standing without turning around until Song Dan came to her side.

"Why haven't you found a seat? Come and sit over there with me!" Song Dan said warmly.
