Xia He put on a coat and walked out of the house. She gently patted Deng Fan’s shoulder and asked him to let Song Dan in. It was already so late at night and they would disturb the neighbors if they made so much noise.

Deng Fan brought Song Dan to their study, the place where they discussed business with visitors.

“Tell me, why is Bureau Chief Song at my house so late at night?” Xia He said impatiently.

“I want your ‘divine medicine’. I’m willing to pay any amount of money. Name your price,” Song Dan said.

“Do you think my house is a treasure chest? You think you can have whatever you want as long as you have money. When it comes to money, my family is not inferior to you now. We don’t care about money at all. Do you think you can buy anything with money?” Xia He said mockingly.
