“Younger brother, don’t say so much,” Du Miao’s elder brother, Du Huai, said.

“Du Huai, stop putting an act in front of me. There’s no one else here,” Du Miao said disdainfully.

Du Huai stopped the show of brotherly respect and let go of Du Miao’s hand. He kept wiping his hands with his own handkerchief as if he had touched something dirty.

“I thought you’d forgotten all about it,” Du Huai said.

“Even if I lose my memory, I won’t forget you. You should go back and be Du Bo’s good son. Don’t come here to disgust me,” Du Miao said in annoyance.

“Don’t you want to save Mom?” Du Huai asked.

Du Miao stopped in his tracks as he was walking out of the courtyard. After thinking for a long time, he sighed and said, “Everyone has their own fate. Back then, when I advised her to divorce my father, she did not want to leave. I can’t change this outcome. Even if she is cured, she will still be tortured by Du Bo until the end. She might as well die.”
