Chapter 1758 The Truth Is Out

Qiao Mei and Yan Xi exchanged glances. Qiao Mei did not expect to run into Yan Xi here and to cause him so much trouble. Yan Xi nodded slightly to reassure Qiao Mei. As long as he was around, Sixth High would not malign Qiao Mei.

Whenever Zhang Chao came back during the school holidays, he would study at Yan Xi's house. Yan Xi had a lot of books at home and they filled up at least three rooms. Zhang Chao's results for this semester had improved by leaps and bounds and he even told Li Gui that he wanted to try and skip one grade. This was all thanks to Yan Xi teaching him well.

"There must still be people who don't believe in Qiao Mei's ability. How about this, I'll set a few questions on the blackboard and let her answer them. Do you agree?" Yan Xi asked.

Everyone agreed to Yan Xi's suggestion. Yan Xi wrote a mathematics question that was 10 times more difficult than the questions in the exam! Everyone was stunned to the spot and there were people who could not even understand the question.

As soon as Yan Xi finished writing the question, Qiao Mei picked up the chalk and started writing without any hesitation. She wrote very fast and penned down the answer without even batting an eyelid. Before Yan Xi even finished reading her answer, she went to the other side and wrote down an even faster and simpler way to solve the question.

This question was similar to the high school Mathematical Olympiad questions which she encountered in her other life. However, for a person who had studied advanced mathematics before, these questions were not a problem at all.

"Not bad. You have gotten it right and even have two methods to solve the problem." Yan Xi nodded in satisfaction.

He looked back at everyone and asked, "Do you understand?"

"No," everyone said.

"Alright, then let me explain it to everyone." Yan Xi spent 30 minutes explaining Qiao Mei's first method of solving the problem. More than half of the people present could not even understand what Yan Xi was saying. Only a few people could keep up with Yan Xi's train of thought, one of them being Wu Duo.

Yan Xi smiled and said, "I won't explain the other solution to you. You will only learn this in university! Now, do you believe that Qiao Mei didn't cheat in the mathematics test?"

Everyone was speechless. Even Bian Chi, who was so prejudiced against Qiao Mei in the beginning, was stunned. She never imagined that Qiao Mei was really capable and had thought that Qiao Mei was only a beauty without any brains.

After that, Yan Xi came up with a question for each subject. Qiao Mei answered all the questions easily before Yan Xi went on to give everyone a detailed explanation. In the end, everyone believed that Qiao Mei was at a level beyond their reach.

Qiao Mei was very satisfied with Yan Xi's method of dispelling everyone's misunderstanding of her. In the end, everyone looked at Qiao Mei differently. Many people admired her by now, but there were also a few people who were shocked by her.

If Qiao Mei could solve the problem using a method which only university students knew, it meant that she already knew the high school syllabus like the back of her hand. However, Qiao Mei also had a subject she was weak in, which was politics. The political scenarios she studied in her other life would only happen in the future. Qiao Mei was worried that she would write something that did not match the thoughts of this era and be accused of being a revolutionary.

She decided not to answer so many questions in this test paper. Once class started, she would pay attention in class to familiarize herself with the situation in this era.

"Principal, thank you for clearing my name," Qiao Mei said as she looked at Yan Xi, feeling touched.

When many of the male students heard what Qiao Mei said, their hearts almost broke in pieces. In the morning, they had thought that they had a chance of finding their future wife at school, but now their dreams had been shattered.

The look in Wu Duo's eyes was particularly intense. He wished that he could rush into Qiao Mei's house to see if the marriage certificate which Qiao Mei and Xia Zhe had was real. How could such a good woman be already married?
