Chapter 49
"What the hell, you can talk?" Akirexer gasped.
Maradina slowly nodded her head. "I had a boyfriend that I loved with all my heart. His name was Kirijima. We met at our village in Dark Star. The time came for us to go to the academy and train in order to be part of Queen Sharaina's army."
"Wow you really can talk." Akirexer widened her eyes at Maradina. She realized that her statement didn't add value to what Maradina just said so Akirexer cleared her throat and shook her shock away. "What happened to you two? Did you break up?"
Maradina sighed. "We didn't officially break up. You see, Kirijima was extremely ambitious. He wanted to become a member of the Enchanted Seven. His ambitions got the best out of him to the point of him losing sight of himself."
"Wow you are saying full sentences and everything." Akirexer commented. "Oh shoot, sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you. It's just that I can't believe you are talking to me." Akirexer cleared her throat again. "Continue."
Maradina shook her head at her with a faint smile. "Don't worry, I understand you're shocked." A soft laugh escaped from Maradina's lips. "Anyway, Kirijima trained everyday. He barely had time for me anymore. Months would go by without us seeing each other and before I knew it, our relationship was over."
"Where is he now?" Akirexer asked.
Maradina took a breath in and breathed out. "He is dead." She covered her mouth with her hand.
"I'm sorry about that." Akirexer gave Maradina's shoulder a squeeze. "He was a none pure like me, huh?"
"No, he wasn't a none pure. He was as pure as they come." Maradina clarified with a distant look on her face.
"Huh?" Akirexer tilted her head confused. "I thought pures don't die but only hibernate when severely injured."
"Yes that is true but not entirely true. You see, only a dragon can kill a darkas god. The dragon technique is dangerous. Once summoned, the dragon will only submit if defeated in battle. This is why many warrior darkas gods have no dragons." Maradina wrapped her hands around her legs. She rested her chin on her knees gazing away into the moon.
"Oh man and I have to learn that technique. This is going to be harder than I thought." Akirexer wiped her face with her hand.
"You need not worry. Waxx is an excellent warrior. He will train you well enough to defeat a dragon." Maradina assured Akirexer who returned her words with a smile.
"So your boyfriend lost his life to the dragon." Akirexer commented.
"I watched him die in my arms. I couldn't make out the last words he said to me." Tears rolled down her cheeks. "I failed to save him because his wounds were too fatal for me to heal. I felt so useless. I couldn't save Daisy either and Bruce is suffering the pain that I have been suffering." Maradina sniffed and turned to face Akirexer. "In order to punish myself for failing to save Kirijima, I made a vow to never say another word again until I felt the love that I lost. I had been that way for over ten years."
"I am sorry you had to go through that Maradina. You have broken your vow. Does this mean that you have found love once more?" Akirexer sympathized with Maradina.
"Yes I have. I just realized today that I found this love a long time ago with Sana and Sanuika. Each and everyone here has offered me their love too but I was too stupid to see it. There's no need for me to keep my vow."
"I am happy that you are finally at peace."
"Thank you, Akirexer." Maradina wiped her remaining tears and chuckled softly with Akirexer.
The two stopped laughing when they heard the front door open. In no time they saw Alex picking his bicycle up. He covered his head with his hood and rode his bike out of the yard. Akirexer narrowed her eyes at him.
"Hey, Maradina, wanna stalk Alex with me? There's something fishy about that guy and I'm feeling very curious tonight."
Without another word, the two launched into the air. Alex rode his bike as fast as he could through the woods. He could hear owls hooting, frogs croaking and twigs breaking as he rode.
Akirexer and Maradina jumped from tree to tree twenty meters behind him. They followed him deeper and deeper into the woods. Alex stopped and listened to the wind. He heard Akirexer and Maradina draw closer to him until they halted. The two women watched him from the trees.
"Is there a reason you two have decided to stalk me tonight?" Alex openly asked them.
At that point, Akirexer and Maradina jumped down and faced Alex.
"Of course there is a reason, wolfie. You stare at me so much and I want to know why."
Alex got off his bike. "I told you that my mind drifted away thinking about work and it so happened that you were in the direction of my eyes."
"That's bullshit and you know it. I have caught you staring at me more than once. You know something you aren't telling us so spill it." Akirexer boldly demanded.
"I guess I have no choice." Alex sighed.
Alex took off his glasses and tossed them aside. He leapt into the air and turned into an eight foot black wolf. He shook his body and his long fluffy fur scattered in place. He charged at Akirexer and Maradina got her arrows ready. Alex ran over Akirexer and made a run for it into the woods.
"Don't let him get away!" Akirexer exclaimed.
Akirexer and Maradina ran after Alex at an impossible speed. As they ran, Maradina shot arrows at him that he blocked with his tail. Akirexer held out her hand and her sword appeared. She threw it at Alex but he made a sharp turn.
Alex kept on running only to receive a punch in the jaw. He was sent crushing into trees. Akirexer went for him with her sword drawn when another werewolf head butted her away. Akirexer back flipped to a safe distance and landed on one knee. She narrowed her eyes at the growling brown werewolf that was smaller than Alex.
Maradina landed beside Akirexer and aimed her arrow at the werewolves. The brown werewolf looked at Akirexer from head to toe and whimpered. It took a few steps back and tilted its head. Maradina stretched her bow and was just about to fire when Akirexer held her hand up to stop her.
The brown werewolf slowly approached Akirexer with its ears down and tail between its legs. Alex, still in his werewolf form got ready to strike. When the brown werewolf was close enough, Akirexer gave it a gentle pat on the head. The brown werewolf backed away. It faced the moon and let out a long howl.
Before Akirexer and Maradina knew it, they were surrounded by a pack of werewolves. They joined the brown werewolf howling. Akirexer and Maradina stood back to back with their weapons ready. The deafening howls echoed all around them and they felt restless.
The brown werewolf stopped howling and the rest went quiet too. It looked at Akirexer and raised it's ears. It changed form before Akirexer's eyes and behold was a naked and heavily pregnant woman. Her brown curly hair covered her breasts entirely as she stood tall and confident. Akirexer took a closer look at the woman and she gasped.
"It cannot be."
"Hi there, Whitney. It has been a while. Won't you give your dearest Britney a hug?" She spread her arms apart with the moonlight beautifying her elegant smile.
Maradina slowly nodded her head. "I had a boyfriend that I loved with all my heart. His name was Kirijima. We met at our village in Dark Star. The time came for us to go to the academy and train in order to be part of Queen Sharaina's army."

"I guess I have no choice." Alex sighed.

Alex thought that he made great distance between the darkas gods and himself when Akirexer landed in front of him and punched him hard in his jaw. He was sent crushing into a tree.
