"Jo, come on, get up." Alaricas said loudly.
I groaned and smacked him with a pillow, "You're an asshole."
"I know, but you love me anyway."
I grunted in reply as I dragged myself out of bed. I leaned against Alaricas, resting my head to his chest.
"Carry me to the truck?" I asked.
He chuckled and kissed me on the head, "Anything for you, darling."
After we had a steamy shower, thanks to Mr.Horny, we got dressed and brought our stuff downstairs. Barely anyone ate breakfast, none of us were huge on eating at five thirty in the morning.
Alaricas threw our stuff into the SUV, he then walked back over and picked me up bridal style. I laughed as he kissed me on the lips and placed me in the passenger seat.
Cain and Mae hopped into the backseat and buckled themselves in. After Alaricas made sure everyone was in, we started the long drive to the airport.
I laughed as Alaricas whined about mine and Cain's singing. Mae was out cold, leaning her head against the window.
After a while, I started to fall asleep too, curling up in the seat. I listened to Cain and Alaricas talk before the darkness drowned me.
I felt myself being lifted and sparks going through me. I cuddled against Alaricas as he gave orders to people. I was still barely awake as Alaricas started walking somewhere. I opened my eyes every now and then, but my exhaustion was taking its hold on me.
We eventually boarded the plane, I chuckled as Cain quickly grabbed a window seat. His eyes were bright with excitement, Mae only laughed and shook her head at him.
I was wide awake after a few minutes, but Alaricas was out for the count. I smiled as I gently ran my fingers through his hair.
It's funny to think about the last time I was on a plane, I was dreading seeing Alaricas again. I was so sure I hated him that I wanted to truly kill him. Now? Well, now, I can't see my life without him.
He's my everything, just like how I'm his everything. I'm terrified of losing him tomorrow, of never seeing him again. I'm scared that I'll never hear his voice again, never feel his arms wrapped around me, never feeling the love of my soul mate.
Tears pooled into my eyes and my heart started to race. I suddenly felt his hand give mine a gentle sqeeuze. I looked back over to see him staring at me.
"You're not going to lose me and I'm not going to lose you." He stated firmly.
I frowned, "But what if I do?"
He smiled softly and kissed me on the lips, "Then you find happiness. You find someone who will love you like I've loved you. Maybe even a little better than me. You lead the pack with them and raise a family with them and know that I'll always be with you. No matter what."
I hugged him close to me, "You are my happiness, Alaricas. There is nobody else."
He sighed and hugged me back, "That's exactly why you won't lose me. You stay by my side for as long as you can tomorrow. I'm not losing you."
"I'm not losing you either." I murmured.
Once we were all settled in, everyone went off and did their own thing. I laughed when Mae grabbed Cain and pulled him into their room before he could leave.
Alaricas and I ended up just relaxing by the pool all day. We had junk for lunch and dunked each other.
I laughed as Alaricas picked me up and threw me into the water. As I came up for air, Alaricas jumped in. I quickly dunked him as soon as he caught his breath. He suddenly grabbed me and flipped me over his head.
We continued tackling each other until we were shivering from being cold. Alaricas wrapped me in his towel and pressed me against his warm body. I smiled up at him and kissed him on the lips.
"I love you." He whispered.
I kissed him again, "I love you too."
The following day came way too fast. We all made sure we had good meals throughout the day and were well rested. When five pm rolled around, we started our journey to the skin-walker's camp.
We all shifted into wolf form as soon as we reached the forest. The quiet forest was filled with the sound of us moving through its trees and bushes. Our paws were quiet on the ground, barely making a sound as we drew closer to the fight.
We could hear howls and barks in the distant, the need to draw blood flowed through us. We started to pick up speed as we got closer. The once sunset kissed sky was now a soft blue, the moon and stars started to show themselves. Silver light flooded the forest, guiding us towards our goal.
We all slowed down to a trot and started to surround the area. Alaricas, Cain, and I stood on the left end. We all crouched low, not allowing anyone to see us.
I could hear the snarls and howls of pain as skin-walker went against wolf. My wolf and I were aching to run in there and start shredding them apart.
Finally, Alaricas gave the signal and we all started to slowly walk to the top of the hill. The unusually large coyote like creatures had eyes filled with fear. The wolves all howled in triumph as we flooded the war grounds.
I tore through skin-walkers like it was nothing. Beside me, Alaricas' large wolf was snapping necks and tearing them apart. Blood soaked our muzzles and faces as we fought.
I yelped as a walker was able to bite my front leg. Alaricas growled and grabbed her by the throat. He easily snapped her neck and threw her aside. We quickly got back to business.
I was blinded by my thrist for their blood. Instinct guided me as I bathed the ground with the walkers' blood. My paws were now coated in it and my fur was soaked with my own blood as they tore through my flesh.
I looked up, realizing that Alaricas and I were seperated. I continued fighting though, determined to find him again.
I froze when I heard a howl of pain, I turned my attention to the large wolf. Alaricas was trying to fight off five walkers, but they continued ripping through him.
I growled and started ripping them off of him. Soon, Cain and my father joined in. My father quickly licked my cheek before focusing on the walkers.
As soon as Alaricas was able to stand, he checked me and nuzzled his face against mine. I whined and licked him on the nose. He wagged his tail before attacking another walker.
We fought for hours on end, destroying any walker that dared to seperate us. Throughout the fight I saw my mother, brother, and Kayla. They warned me that a few walkers brought guns with silver bullets.
I growled at that, disgusted by how cowardly they were. I told Alaricas and we stayed alert for any sign of those.
I was shoved to the ground by a rather large walker whose eyes were filled with hatred. He tried snapping my neck, but I quickly escaped his grasp. I bared my blood stained teeth before lunging at him.
We rolled on the ground, clawing and tearing through each other. I was finally able to pin him down and snap his neck. I watched the life fade from his eyes before shaking out my fur.
"Jo, look out!" Cain linked me.
I turned around to see a woman pointing a gun towards me. I didn't have any time to react as she fired it. The pain never made itself known and nor did the bullet enter me.
Cain had shoved me out of the way, taking the bullet instead. I barked loudly as he slammed into the ground and slid across. Blood started soaking his fur as he laid there, whimpering.
Multiple growls sounded as Alaricas, my family, and Eduardus appeared. My own growl sounded, my ears were flat against my head.
She had no time to fire the gun again, for we all lunged at her at the same time. I left it to them though and turned around to run over to Cain.
My heart sank as Cain's wolf made a screaming noise. A walker was ripping through his back leg and pulling on it. I sprinted over and attacked the walker.
Without any trouble, I ripped its head off and threw it across the grounds. I then threw his body and nudged Cain. Blood pooled around him as he laid there, shaking like a leaf.
"CAIN!"
