Spells and Wands
Waking up in another place is what greeted me against the feeling of lethargicness.
I know that this happens too often to me; at this point, I should have gotten used to it by now but no, every time this happens, it makes me question my whole life.
A child was beside me, her warm, purple eyes were staring back at me, watching my every move.
She looks so little that I felt like I could just carry her.
I met eye-to-eye with her and she gasped, her cheeks flushing red.
“She’s awake!” She yelled out for others to hear, and I grabbed her small hands before she could run away.
“Who are you? What is this place?” The first thing that entered my mind was my baby inside my womb. I instantly caressed it and looked for any sign of Ace.
Just then, everything fell into me, how Corrine betrayed us and how Ace asked me to unleash my power.
I looked at my burned hands, aching as they smelled like dead flesh.
“Ow! Get your hands away from me!” The small child complained to me.
“You tell me where I am and help me escape here.” I gritted my teeth, wanting to stand up but I couldn’t. DAMN IT! I’ll drag my whole body just to get out of this strange place! not sensing Ace near me is giving me anxiety.
“Awe, hello princess. You’re finally awake.” The door opened and a gentle voice of a woman who looks like my age greeted, “Forgive me for that little child’s rudeness, she is not trained enough.”
Is my ear ringing or did the woman just call me princess?
“Lana! She’s scary!” the child complained, pulling her hand away from me and running to the child.
“Shh, don’t you dare say that to the princess!”
I raised my eyebrows, “Princess?”
“Yes, your highness.” She bowed at me, “Forgive us for the rudeness. This is Samira, the naughty child who was keeping watch of you for the whole week. And I am Lana.”
I still felt confused by her words for the way she speaks, as if she was from another world. “Week? I need to get out of here.”
I stood up, but she instantly came to my side, stopping me, “Please stay put. Your hands are still not fully healed.”
She sighed, “This is bad, we need you to meet our leader.”
I shook my head, “Are you going to take me somewhere again? No, I am not going anywhere. I will leave this strange place.”
Samira, the child was looking at me.
I gritted my teeth, “Why am I even here?”
“You’re the promised one for us, after your mother, the queen died, the witch realm was in chaos. Now you’re here. You’re our only hope.” As if it made everything clever, I got more confused.
The more she explains to me, the more I don’t understand anything.
Out of my choice, she then took me to a narrow hallway and everything was weird. The whole place was dark, and with neon lights. Everyone seemed to have this little wood as they cast something.
In the far corner were small children laughing along as they pointed at the flowers changing colors.
There was a couple in the back too as they play along the trees.
And there seems to be a group of teenagers with an old woman teaching them something.
I gazed at them, seeing how the whale place was magical.
I must be out of my mind as if the whole werewolf realm was not normal enough, I couldn’t grasp this whole place.
It feels like a fever dream, something that I was dreaming about when I was a kid.
“What are they doing?”
“Casting a spell, were you not taught?”
A spell? “Huh?” What kind of place exactly I just got myself into?
“This is the witch realm. Welcome to our place, no, your rightful place. And your throne awaits for you.” Lana said, smiling at me, “I am sure you’ll love this place, far more than the werewolf realm. Just give us a chance…”
As if the whole place was not amazing enough, I could see floating islands against the dark sky. Tall towers hung above us, and lighting was striking everywhere.
We seemed to arrive at our destination as Lana stopped me from a tall tower. There seems to be a cloud waiting for us Lana flicked her hand and the cloud went close to us.
Lana then hopped on it, as well as Samira, and I just stayed rooted at my spot.
“What’s wrong? Jump on it!” She asked.
“Uh…it’s a cloud…I might fall.” I said hesitantly.
Lana suddenly chuckled. “You’re too adorable, your highness. This cloud is our vehicle to get into the highest tower. Unless you wanted to use the 1000 steps of the stairs?”
I shook my head, glancing at the open woods to the right, and had an escape plan.
“You know what? It was nice meeting you. but I need to go now.”
I was about to run when I felt stuck on my shoe, Lana was mumbling strange words, and I knew that she put a spell on me.
“you can’t do that, princess. You might wish to stay here than venture into the dangerous woods. They placed huge beasts as our guardians to entrap any outsiders there….” She said.
“I’ll just kill them then.”
“No, you can’t, they are the leader’s pets. Once you touch them, your life span would decrease you will turn into bones.”
I knew she might be scaring me so I would not continue my escape plan. Having no choice, for now, I hopped into the cloud and it moved upwards.
I bit my lip, screaming at the fast pace. Lana seemed to look like it was a normal thing, and she was grabbing my hand to avoid falling.
“And we’re here!” We were in the islands of the sky and to the highest tower. The cloud dropped us on the island and we continued walking to the door.
There seems to be a heavy magnetic field that’s enveloping us and Lana and Samira suddenly stopped.
“I am afraid this is where we could only go.” Lana said, “We are not allowed to go inside.”
I stopped, “What?” I am too afraid.
“Just walk straight, we’ll be waiting here for you.” Lana then waved at me, and I gulped, walking ahead to the said door.
I can do this, I faced countless werewolves, and many savages and this leader is a witch.. for sure I can convince her to take me away from here.
Ace might be waiting for me. I have to stay strong... for him and for our baby.
