Alpha's order
Chapter 9
LUCIA LORENZO'S POV
The Blaine wolf was on top of me. Even though I am larger than some men, he easily doubles the size of my wolf. The wolf drags his muzzle down my neck as if it were a tender steak he's trying not to bite into. Ava, my wolf, gives a purr.
"You are not a cat, but a wolf!"
Blaine changes back into a human before I can even respond.
"Move," he insists.
I continue to be a wolf.
"Move right now!"
Well, the alpha's instruction cannot be disputed.
I transform back into a human. I was reminded that I was nude by the brisk breeze that blew across my skin.
Oh, my God.
This is not ideal. I shift without thinking twice because, to our wolves, it is the norm to be nude. I am now pressed up against a naked man who also happens to be my mate, so obviously I wasn't thinking. My breasts press against his chest with each breath I take. His eyes are changing from brown to gold, and I can see that mine are too.
"Blushing, are we little wolves?"
"I'm only little compared to you."
He laughs, which infuriates me even more. A smug smile returns to his face.
"Oh, Lucia, just admit it already."
"Admit what?"
"That you like me."
"I don't like you!"
"Are you serious? Because of the position in which you were sitting, not too long ago, you were purring and ready for me to impale you."
"That was my wolf, asshole!"
"You see, that's interesting because right now I can smell your arousal, and you are very much a human right now."
My pupils expanded. Not that I'd noticed.
"You're wrong."
"Are you saying that if I were to feel you, that you wouldn't be wet?" He said, tracing a line down my body from my navel to the base of my breasts. His finger keeps descending, but his eyes are fixed on mine. I knew in the back of my mind that I ought to stop him, but I was reluctant to do so.
My breathing became more rapid as he lowered his finger.
His finger arrives at its target. He drags three fingers up and down my opening before curling his hand.
"Lucia, you are such a liar—you're wet!"
I have to use all of my strength to contain my groans. This asshole is not going to win, so I'm controlling it for my dignity. His fingers slid around my throat, and his eyes went back to their usual brown.
"Take a f*cking shower."
"Excuse me?"
Your aroma is making my wolf go mad. Miles away, I can smell it."
"I can't just erase my natural scent, Blaine!"
"I don't care what you do; roll in some dirt for all I care, but get it off you."
I gave him a look as I pry the hand off my neck.
"You know, I think I know the perfect way to mask my scent."
"What is it?"
I lift my head to place it right next to his ear and whisper "Sex!"
His eyes enlarged.
"I'm sure there are lots of guys willing to help me out."
The shock that had been in those eyes had given way to fury. He puts his hand back on my neck and squeezes it even more.
"Shut up."
"What? I believe Anthony would be delighted to help me.
I can't even talk right now because of how tightly he's holding my neck.
"Little wolf, pay attention. I will kill a man if I ever discover that he was somewhere I ought to be, somewhere that belongs to me." "Look Lucia, you are mine and mine alone. You are mine to have and to hold!"
Blaine has never scared me before, but I believe I've pushed him too far. I know it's his wolf speaking because of how deep his voice sounds. He puts his hand over my lower part in a scolding manner.
"I own this. Can you hear me?"
"Yes..."
He drops his head to rest against my ear. He speaks to me with more authority than I have ever heard from him before, and I can feel his hot breath on me.
"Lucia, I'm the alpha. I can roll my eyes and get away with it. You had better keep that in mind because if someone touches something that is mine, I won't think twice about ripping their neck."
I realize I can't fight him at this time. I nod in desperation, even though I disagree with him since that's the only way to get him to calm down.
"Good girl."
I nod once more.
"Hmm, go home; I will arrange a meeting with you and your sister soon enough."
I shifted and headed home muttering "Alpha, I belong to no one."
BLAINE DE LOMBARDI'S POV
Henry, What the hell was that?
It was all you, so don't hold it against me.
I could sense you in my thoughts; don't lie.
Not me, but you were calling forth your alpha power. I spoke to our friend for a single sentence; you did the rest.
I would never utter such words. I detest her.
Between hate and love, there is a thin line.
Should you not have chased after her, none of this would have occurred.
How am I meant to go on? I was making sure my partner was secure when I smelled her. Don't act like you don't like the way she smells.
Before I met her, I was a huge fan of the vanilla scent.
Dumbass, why do you think she smells like vanilla? The key thing is that we are made to love our partners.
I've had enough of you.
No amount of effort will be enough to break myself and my partner apart once more.
Time was not on my side. Now it was just a question of when. How much longer until I sank my teeth into Lucia's throat? That is the irreversible point. A wolf is permanently marked once its partner has done so. I have to figure out a way, and I have to figure it out quickly.
I was overcome by the overpowering scent of sage as I got closer to the elder's home.
Among the oldest members of our group was Clara de Golden.
One of our past alphas had perpetrated a bloodbath, and she had survived. She relocated from Italy to America soon after. The Blood Moon pack persisted in this area, while many of the wolves that had survived relocated to America. In Italy, there are still a lot of wolves that are under human control.
Clara had one thing going for her. The only two people to have survived a wolf bite were her and her sister. Clara fled to America after being bitten during the massacre and being rejected by her family. Even though her sister is still alive, she still resides in Italy. They were outliers. It is not expected for a human to survive a wolf bite, but here we are.
"Enter my child."
Their powers came from the bite. They resemble oracles in several ways. They both can sense things and see visions that either enlighten us about the future or serve as warnings of impending danger. But in years, none of them had experienced a vision. Clara's last vision concerned my mother's passing.
I walk into her house, a charming small hut on the outskirts of our domain. It's crammed with books, Renaissance paintings, and a few gadgets I don't know how to operate. I feel at ease and peace the moment I go into her house.
"I see you have found your mate."
"What? I haven't told anyone."
"I sense that from your wolf; therefore, there's no need. His grief is unlike anything I've seen in male wolves that haven't staked a claim."
"That's actually what I came to talk to you about."
"Go on."
"I think I've discovered my soul partner, but our compatibility is off. I'm not interested in mating with her."
"All mates are right for each other; it's how it works, dear."
"You know I adore Mirabel, but we despise one another." I simply need to learn how to manage my feelings and my wolf so that I don't unintentionally mark her."
"Ah, I see. You are denying the greatest thing the goddess has blessed you with."
Yes, I am, but I also need to find a method to release the bond. I can smell her everywhere, so much that I can't even concentrate on my alpha training."
"Hmm, and once you mark her, it's only a matter of time before she goes into heat."
"Clara, please, I need your assistance." The only person who can assist me is you."
With a sigh of great disappointment, her head sank low. She appeared more composed when she raised her head once more.
"Blaine, you'll become a phenomenal alpha one day." I can tell that without the aid of a vision."
"OK?"
You must realize that an alpha without his Luna is akin to a swimming pool devoid of water. He is not useful."
"There are plenty of alphas out there who do not have mates."
Yes, but you've found your partner, which sets you apart from those alphas. When he is not with his mate, your wolf will constantly be agitated and restless, which could turn you into a horrible alpha."
I swear, I'll keep my wolf under control. Clara, please just lend a hand."
"Blaine, mates are complicated. Let me tell you a tale so you can grasp it completely."
The Lycans were an affront to nature when Elena originally made them. They were impervious. The Lycans were almost invincible. The other supernaturals became enraged by this and decided to eliminate the Lycans before they could proliferate.
Their inability to compete with the Lycans was the sole issue. The majority of vampires and witches perished in the brutal conflict.
The Lycans got more careless as their might increased. They wouldn't feel guilty after killing thousands of innocent people. That her creatures had turned into such gory beasts concerned Elena. Elena realized she had to make the necessary corrections to the natural equilibrium before the other gods intervened on their own.
Her answer was initially a curse but turned out to be a blessing. "A companion."
Though it is merely half of a wolf, each werewolf is given a wolf. It is hoped that the soul will eventually find its other half and carry on with its journey beyond death. This was the goddess' way of giving wolves a heart and a weakness. There are both blessings and curses associated with it.
"That just sounds like some folklore Clara, no offense."
"You are a young child. You still don't fully comprehend how a partner functions."
"So I'm supposed to just be with a woman I don't even like, so my wolf is happy with his soulmate?"
She is not only his soulmate; she is also yours. Her soul, the wolf, and the human are connected to yours."
Thanks for the story, Clara, but could you please provide a solution to my problem?"
"The only solution for your wolf to resist her is if she's far away from you."
"Are you implying that..."
"You need to send her away."
