You Took Everything From Me

Chapter 17

"Mother!!!" She screams as she saw the sword of her father in her mother's body, she limps as fast as she could but her mother was already falling to her death.

Xerxes was frozen in time as he watched his Mate fall into a deep slumber,

"No...no..... Octavia open your eyes!!" He falls to his knees to tap her on her cheek, "you promised me!! Don't leave me!!!" He shakes her violently but she isn't moving anymore, "Octavia!!" And his tears drop on her face, he finally lost her.

She was cold and she was numb; she was dead.

Arcadia reaches her but it was too late, her mother had finally left her, her words kept replaying in her head, "mother.....mother.... please.....don't...." She couldn't help the tears that poured from her eyes, "nooo!!!!!" She is shattered.

Magnus tries to flee while he can but the moment Xerxes catches sight of him, he superspeeds to the killer and kicks him so hard he flies back to square one. He jumps on top of his uncle and lands multiple punches on his face,

"You took everything from me!! Everything!!!" He battered his face until he wasn't recognizable anymore, "first my dad," he cracked his skull further, "now you've taken the love of my life!!" He had blinded one of his eyes as he didn't stop punching him, while Magnus was already becoming limp due to too much blood loss.

Xerxes drags him to where he left his sword and he picks it up,

"She couldn't fulfill her promise because of you!! But I will fulfill mine, die!!!" He swings it across and his head is sent flying inches into the air before it lands and rolls to where Arcadia held her mother.

She looked at the severed head of her father and the rage in her master's eyes,

"Love of your life??" Her heavy eyes hold confusion but he couldn't even answer her, he breaks down in tears at the loss of his Mate, she turns to her mother and holds her closer, "mother....why?" She cries more.

They had managed to protect themselves and drive out Mace and his warriors but the kingdom has suffered a great loss; the death of the king and queen. And now the kingdom was left without a ruler. Who would take over now?

"I would do it!!" Arcadia puts herself to be the ruler of the North, all the ranking officers look at her in disbelief,

"Princess you have no knowledge about how to run a Kingdom, you're going to ruin us all!!" An elderly wolf chastises her, "I suggest that we elect someone who is more responsible, someone that was close to the king, maybe—" he is cut off as her fan almost sank into his flesh,

"I was not suggesting that I do it, I'm commanding that I'd do it you fool!!" She takes her fan back after instilling enough fear into the old man's heart.

"But—" they all try to speak but she silences them with a hand gesture, the commander in chief was silently opposing her rule as he was the one who was supposed to be in charge after the death of the king,

"If you utter another word expect to be hanging from that tree." She points to the tree outside, it was her best threat yet, "I want you all to prepare my coronation, or you can kiss your lives goodbye."

She walks out on them, they were all awestruck at her audacity, they would all conclude that she was proud but in fact she was just recovering from the most traumatic event of her life. After the death of the Queen she had never been the same, and her Master still hadn't gotten out of his trance. He decided to stay in her room where all of her memories were.

Arcadia was still wrapped with bandages from all over her body, but she was still able to carry herself with Grace and respect. It had only been about two weeks after the war and everyone needed to recover from the effects. It was especially harder for them since they had no one on the throne. Now she had volunteered and those old hags were saying nonsense.

She would never allow the men her father trusted to rule her mother's kingdom anymore. She would prefer to die.

She reaches her mother's room and there is a rush of memories, she opens the door gently to see her father putting away some of her things, that is after taking a good sniff of them,

"Father?" She opens the door wider for him to see her properly, his eyes dig into her and he couldn't help the tear that slid down his cheeks,

"I've always dreamt of you calling me that," he sniffs with a smile and wipes the tear away, "I hope you're healing properly Arcadia?" He looks at her mother's garment before folding it and putting it away.

"Yes I am, what about you? How are you feeling now?" She gazes upon his bare upper half, he was decoarated with scars from the war but he was healing very fast, he smiles a little before he gives a small nod,

"I'm fine, your mother's ointment always works even when you don't want it to." He laughs a little but he has hurt himself when he reminded them both of Octavia's absence, she walks to him and embraces him, she hugs him so tight it makes him forget he just became a widower.

"I wish she didn't have to leave us So soon, I knew she was acting strangely when the war was nearing, I don't believe she thought she would survive." She sniffs the tears back and looks into her father's blue eyes, "now I know why she fell in love with you, I have the most beautiful eyes from the most beautiful man," she flatters him and he blushes slightly,

"You're just like her, always making me feel like a teenager again." He laughs it off before putting all of her things away, "she has left us but she is always with us." He picks up her fans and hands it over to his daughter, "she wanted me to give this to you, she said it would give you the strength to fight when you have none left." He puts the closed fans in her palms and folds her fingers over it, "you would make a great Queen Arcadia; Queen Arcadia." He sings her praises.

"It's not the same without mother though, I wish she was here for my coronation, she would've been so happy...." She sniffs back the tears and wipes them off, "I don't believe I would be a great Queen father, I couldn't even be a great princess."

"And I didn't believe that I would be a great husband or father, but I guess I didn't turn out so bad, and she didn't believe she would ever be able to do a bit of good in her life, but she was the embodiment of a savior." He moves closer to her, "if we have so much faith in you then you shouldn't ever doubt yourself."

"You have a lot of explaining to do though, you never told me anything about you and mother," she punches his side and he winced in pain,

"I would tell you that later I promise my Queen," he begs for her forgiveness before she sent him back to the sick bay, "but tell me Arcadia, who are we getting rid of first?" He slings his death bringer over his shoulder. His daughter thinks for a while before smiling wickedly, something her mother did often,

"The commander in chief."
