King Of The North

"My hands are cramping." He growls as he fiddled with the chains that we're around his wrists, they had made red circles on them and he was frustrated with his situation, "master, we need to escape from this hell hole." Czar glances to Mace but he was silent with his thoughts burning a hole in his heart,

"That's if we survive the execution, we are not going to be alive for much longer." He finally speaks up and his eyes go to Loki, he was backing them sitting in silence, he needed to see Sheila even if it was one last time.

He wanted to apologise.

But he also wanted to see Mace Alive.

"Loki?" He calls but he doesn't say anything, not even a nod or anything. Mace does his best to move to his front so he could see his brother, "brother, what is on your mind?" His hazel orbs were digging into his green ones,

"I'm thinking of a way to get us out of here, I can't let you die." He looks around the shabby room they were in, it was dark and damp and they were cramped. It's like putting big men in a tiny box. Hid eyes glow green and Mace panics,

"Do not! You cannot risk your sanity, we would find another way." He didn't want him to lose control of himself,

"Let him do what he wants to do, he might be successful. It's better to be mad than be dead." Czar supports but the look Mace casted him was worse than death of any sort, "he is trying to protect you master."

Mace turns to Loki again and the chains had begun to loosen from their wrists,

"Loki that's enough!!" He commands and he stops only when the chains were off, his eyes revert to normal again but he was breathing quite hard, "you're not meant to be using your powers, you haven't recovered from the war yet."

"It's fine, it's just something small." He gives a small smile and rubs his wrists, he manages to move to his feet and he surveys the small cell, looking for a hidden passage of any sort, his eyes glow an ominous green and he heaves another sigh when they revert back, "our men are in the other room, nothing has been done to them yet."

Czar rises to his feet and grips the bars, trying to pull them apart but even his strength was not making it budge, "what is this thing?" He was angrier now.

Loki moved closer to it and touches it, he nods, "it's been reinforced with magic, it's not normal again. They must know you have unnatural strength." He growls and it was only the hybrid that was using his brain here, "Mace?" He turns to him "we need to make sure they don't take you tomorrow, you need to escape, you can't afford to die since you're the last of your kind."

Mace nods but his heart was far from it, he touches the bars again and they glow purple before turning back to normal, he knew it was something stronger than his, the whole cell in general. Maybe that was why it was harder for him to use is powers. It was slowly draining him and he had a feeling he would be dead before the sun rose. But he had to conserve his energy.

"What do we do now? What's the plan?" Czar goes back to the ground and crossed his legs, "what would we do when they come to take him?"

"Nothing." Loki's answer was very simple, "I know what to do. You just play along." A plan cooking in his head. Someone was coming and even though he didn't want to see her, they needed to talk, "we should go to sleep." He takes a small corner to himself so the two of them could have enough space to sleep, he was going to meditate,

"But you need to sleep too." Mace was too worried about him, the whole turn of events had brought out his caring nature for Loki, he smiles,

"I don't need sleep, we need to start healing." His eyes glow green again and his energy flows to them, "just sleep Mace." His voice was deeper due to the flow of power and he complied. He lay his head down to rest but he couldn't stop looking at his brother until his eyes finally closed to sleep.

Loki used his energy to heal them while he meditated in the prison cell, his energy had began to make him float in his little corner as he also attempted to weaken the magic of the cell.

A few hours pass and he hears footsteps, his eyes were closing and his magic was faltering to a halt but he did his best to stay awake, he was so weak. He crashes to the ground and his breathing was too heavy, his green orbs Begin to revert but there were tears in them as he remembered his mother and Orla.

His eyes move up to see who was looking down at him, but the image was blurry as he started slipping into the darkness. The only thing he sees is magenta wisps around his body before his eyes closed.

"Loki.....Loki....." He was in a trance, he was unable to answer the calls even though he wanted to, "come back to me my love....." It was his mother but he couldn't reach her, she was too far away, he stretches his hand and he was so close but he eventually has a grasp of something.

His eyes flicker open and he sees Mace's hazel orbs staring deep into his soul, he looks at his hand and he was clutching firmly to his fingers, "you're awake?"

"Yes, and I feel like the war never happened." It had been done time since Mace smiled at him that way, it warmed his heart, "you look so tired." He pulls him to a sitting position and Loki groans as his body cracked under his touch, then he remembered the person he saw last night,

"I'm fine." He thought he was, his body did feel better and he had the characteristic scent of roses, "Czar?" They turn to the warrior and he was snoring like an old wolf, "he sleeps too much." Loki chastises and it made Mace chuckle, "today is the execution, nothing would happen to you I promise."

"Loki, I'm destined to die either way. If Arcadia was indeed my mate then why is she doing this to me?" He was feeling bad after everything happened, at this stage he wasn't sure if he hated her or he just hated himself for treating her bad.

"She is just angry. I don't know what you think of her right now but she isn't all that bad. The same way you were angry when she rejected you is the same way she is angry after she thought she lost her mother." He hoped his words didn't upset him, but Mace had dropped all form of anger and was just regretting, "if you're meant to die then you would die, but if not then something would keep you alive."

"I doubt if I can survive it this time." He gives a pained smile, he reaches for the chains and begins to loosely bind himself, "they must not know we are capable of this. I doubt if they know you have this power. If we live through this then we can plan our escape." Loki nods and they wrap the chains around themselves and Czar while he slept.

They lean on each other and enjoy their company before they doze off again, they're awoken by footsteps and when they look around they see Czar meditating on peace, he looked like he had agreed to follow death peacefully. Their eyes turn to the man who was unlocking the cell.

Asher stood proud and tall while his comrades dragged them out,

"I can't wait to see your head being paraded on the streets by the Queen." He whispered in Mace's ears before letting out a cruel laugh, it disheartened him but Loki was there to cheer him up, he remembered his words and they followed him silently.

When they were out of the palace's premises and down the path to the town, the looks of hate that we're thrown at them was more than enough to make them wish they would just disappear, but Czar was not bothered since he was used to things like these.

"Remember, do not resist, I will do the talking." Loki whispers into his brother's ears and he nods in agreement, he turns to Czar, "make sure to shut up or you would be dead first."

"I'd rather die than be at the mercy of a woman." He sneers and Loki rolls his eyes,

"It was glad knowing you." He bids him farewell as he didn't really care about Czar,

"You know this is all your fault, if only you hadn't kept Orla or whoever she is." He blames him but Loki pays no attention to him.

The men were barely clad, only some cloth around their waists and the rest of them was bare. They reach the center of the city where the king and Queens were sitting elegantly on their thrones and the people had gathered round them. Sheila stood beside the royals with her face being partially covered by a transparent pink veil. When her eyes rested on Loki she felt a knife in her chest, Octavia notices her discomfort and bee hands secretly slip to hold her fingers.

She looks at the Queen and she nods at her, Sheila does her best not to cry as she stared at Loki with a hard look. He couldn't raise his gaze but when he did he still saw the love of his life, his eyes held remorse but hers were as hard as stone.

Asher takes a bow after they were at the centre of the show, he leaves to stand at the other side of the royals, near Xerxes while Arcadia was in the middle. She smiles deviously at Mace and he keeps his head down, he didn't want to see her. And she was enjoying every moment of it.

She stands from her throne and laughs, that kicked a response from the crowd and they clapped and cheered for their Queen,

"I welcome you all!! To the execution of alpha Mace; king of the North!!".
