Chapter 17
It's nearly nine in the evening when Rachel barged into their shared room. She found Allie curled in his bed, sweating under his thick layers and crying into her pillow. What more could the omega do? Nate ripped her heart. Her friend dropped the backpack, the thud softly echoing before she tiptoed towards her.
An ugly sob tore through her lips the more she thought about it.
"I know what you need," Rachel softly said once she handed the omega a wet towel. It was very thoughtful of her. Allie squirmed at her tone, still motionless on the bed.
"I already called Ashton; he said he'd bring some doughnuts on his way back from the practice."
The thought of indulging herself in sugar made her stomach growl. Allie didn't eat anything since she walked away from Nate in rage.
A frown took over Rachel's face; she crossed her arms together, "Amuse me. How long have you been in bed?"
"Does it matter?" Allie sniffled. Her eyes were red and puffy, lips dry and cheeks stained with tears.
"Yes"
"Since eleven in the morning," Allie pushed few lonely strands away from her face, breathing sharply.
"That's for ten hours."
"You've got to get out of the bed."
The omega simply rolled over, tucking her face more in-depth into the pillows and inhaling her scent. How could Rachel say that? She's hurting. Also, it's not like she's going to be in bed for a while. Maybe a day or two.
Rachel sighed. "I know it sounds silly, but you should forget about him. He's a jerk and trust me anyone is better than him. You will find one soon."
Allie wished it were that simple. Here's the thing. She wasn't looking for Nate. In the beginning, she loathed him merely for being a hellhound and still dared to end up in a bed with him. That should teach her. The omega even couldn't fully absorb the fact they both slept together only because of that stupid bet he made with a Ben.
If not for that, they could have a different direction to whatever they had been doing one night before. Maybe more kissing and they would have spent the day in bed wrapped up in each other's arms, whispering sweet nothings and giggling about their initial awkward conversations.
Allie shook her head, trying to push Nates existence into the back of her mind, but every time she closed her eyes, she thought back to that night. Maybe she should be the bigger person; she should pretend like that night with Nate never happened. It was all part of her imagination. She should forget about their heated, sloppy kiss, hands desperately clawing each other while their torsos pressed together. And also how well they fit together. Only if it were that simple.
Nate was too much for her poor brain, her poor heart and Allie tried, but after his half-arsed apology, she couldn't see herself forgiving him any time soon. It should be illegal for her to feel this way. After all, they have only known each for a few months or so. For her to be so devoted to someone who hurt her, she should be relieved of all the suffering.

Ashton's fists were clenched the entire time she kept on talking. The omega told him about Nate and his sick bet with Ben, about everything that happened with her in the morning. Ashton muttered something about finding that sick Alpha and standing up for Allie. It only meant that he would kick his ass and that's the last thing she wanted.
"Please, don't." Hot tears burned behind her lids, but she blinked them back. "Just... Just leave it alone, Ashton. I don't want to ruin your friendship with him."
Her friend scoffed. "Friendship? We barely tolerate each other, and after this, I don't want to see his face ever."
She placed a hand on his. "Ashton you're on the team with him, you need to have a good relationship with him. Or else you're going to lose every game, and I'll blame myself for it. Please don't do anything you will regret."
"Allie—" He started, licking his lips. "You're too good for him. Fine. I'll just silently hate him; he won't know."
"Good" Her lips twitched at that, relief washing over her in warm, comforting waves.

Allie pushed her feet into the mud as she began slidding along, her hand reaching out to grab the nearest, thickest tree. When she felt stable enough, the omega ignored the pain from the rough bark as she wrapped her hand around each tree limb.
The omega had to be quick, for the sound of rapid footsteps was beginning to catch up to her. Hunting hellhounds was the only way she could make herself feel better. So far, it seemed to be working.
Her stomach cramped as she lifted each branch, and when she was high enough to the point where her body was hidden from the leaves, Allie crouched down and waited patiently.
The footsteps stopped just seconds after, but the omega could still hear the cracking of twigs.
"Come on now. Fight me like a true pure Omega," That harsh male voice pierced in her ears, only a few feet away.
She heard a noise that sounded like a whack, the sound of leaves brushing against each other following soon after. The voice paused before it continued again; louder, it's location in a completely different place.
Allie listened wholeheartedly, trying to observe the mistakes that she had made along the way.
"If you are bold enough to step in our territory, you should be bold to show me your pretty face, omega."
Disgust crawled in her stomach as those words sank in. Whoever it was, they watched her the entire night to know that she's hiding somewhere close. Allie cringed at the thought. She hoped that it was not a pack of them or she'll be dead in their territory. Then again she managed to escape a whole pack once and make it alive, so there's no harm in trying also.
That same voice rose into a high pitch, a laugh following the words. "You know something? I hate pure Omegas. So you cant imagine the fun I'm going to have sucking the life out of you."
Dread settled in her stomach. How did he know? Did she forget to take the pill again? Shit!
A dark silhouette moved underneath her location, only to stop directly beneath Allie to listen for any sound. The omega held her breath, eyes piercing the top of the Alphas head before she made her move.
Allie dropped down from her perch, her body smoothly falling from the branch, and landed behind the attacker. She reached down for the spear in that Alphas hand before pulling him backwards by tugging at the collar of the shirt.
She used the mud to her advantage by tripping the Alpha, smirking as his back landed directly into a puddle of mud. For a voice so high pitched he had a compact body, limbs constantly sliding in the mud at an attempt to crawl backwards. Allie took that opportunity to raise the spear in the air.
"And I hate hellhounds," She growled, pushing the entire spear through the throat of the Alpha. Blood splattered everywhere, drenching her in the process.
That's the first time she threw upon herself.

After that night, Allie thought it would stop, and it was only a one-time thing. She was wrong. Oh, so wrong. Over the course of next month, she was always throwing up, nauseous of certain smells and experienced the kind of headaches that would make her cry.
She refused to leave her bed, sometimes a week in a row, enjoying warm tea and staying in bed. The impending burden of classes and assignment kept on piling, but her boneless tired body didn't help at all. Rachel often did her woke, but unfortunately, it couldn't go on forever.
After what felt like an eternity, she was standing in front of the medical room, ready to get tested. There are only so many excuses she could give her friends.
"Hello?" She knocked on the desk, peering inside.
A nurse soon joined her and asked her to fill out the details and leave her student identification card. It was a long process before they asked her to leave blood and urine sample for an additional check-up.
The next morning she was called in again to meet in person. Allie was annoyed that they wouldn't tell it over the phone. Somehow she dragged herself into the room and sat in front of the doctor. Mrs Norris. She had a nervous smile on her face.
"Hello, Allie. Feeling good?"
"Eh"
"Okay," The doctor sucked a sharp breath before breaking out in a smile. "Congratulations, you're pregnant.''
Allie widened her eyes, mouth agape as she stared at the doctor in front of her. "Excuse me?''
"You're pregnant...." The doctor repeated.
"With a hellhounds baby?"
"It appears so."
"Oh, fuck me!"
