Chapter 26
/His POV/
There was border diving each pack from the territories to avoid conflicts. The walls were high –made out of the most robust materials and, of course, the witch spell. And on top of them were very thin strings that Nate could see extending up in the trees.
From the vantage point, the Alpha stood with Sal, one of the beta guards overlooking the strange wolves –could easily smell them, but there were much hiding up in the trees. What did they want?
Werewolves and Hellhounds are always crossing each other paths, needed each other to produce the strongest breed but still never got along. The need for that seemed to be arising now that Nate got Allie pregnant with his pup.
Staring at the werewolf Alpha standing on the other side of the gate, surrounded by his men, Nate followed his two guards, impressed by the pack security. It wasn’t his first rodeo with the wolves, but Nate was intimidated, breath catching at the size of the wolves walking around. He had never seen wolves so large.
The entire time they kept on walking, Nate surveyed his surroundings, disregarding his pack members' stares. They also had a lot of questions going around in their head.
Nate stopped within thirty feet of the wall, lip caught between his teeth as he motioned Sal to open the gate. The beta looked hesitant but followed the order.
“Hello. I am Blake Sully from Crescent Pack,” The Alpha greeted, his gaze steady and piercing.
“So I have heard. What business do you have on our land?”
“I am looking for an omega.” He raised her head, “Her name is Allie.”
Nate tried not to flinch; his jaw set tight. Fortunately, no one stood by his side, the guards maintaining distance which he was thankful for. What did they want to do with Allie?
“Why would she be here?”
Blake cleared his throat. “Not to offend you, Mr Harper, but we are looking everywhere. This is one of our stops.”
Nate bobbed his head, his hands clenched tight by his side. “Unfortunately, Mr Sully, there’s no here by the name Allie. You may please leave now.”
He looked torn, still staring at the wall, but as Nate stood his ground, Blake shook his head and went away. Just before the Alpha could relax and celebrate his victory for driving away from the pack of wolves, Nate noticed his father approaching him. A scowl on his face.
Everyone stilled, standing straight and bowing down to the Pack Alpha.
“Son”, His father, Mathew Harper, glared at him, hands folded behind his back. “We need to talk.”
Nate gulped but nodded his head.

Allie was waiting for him by the time he made it to the room. The Alpha asked her that they needed to hurry and talk it out to his parents. Nate had several hundred questions for her but its not the right time, he figured.
Once they stood outside his parent's cabin, the door flew open before he could even attempt to ring the bell, which told him that his whole family had most likely been waiting for him all day, taking turns in peeking through the living room curtains.
"Nate!" His mother's shrill sound combined with his sisters' voices made him wince involuntarily, but not a second later, a big smile spread over Nates lips. He spread his arms, ready for some hugs.
It took a while for all of them to calm down, their giddiness of seeing each other again after months apart unrestrained. His mother’s eyes filled with happy tears as she observed him lovingly. Nina wore her dark hair in a long braid as always and a bright, honest smile on her lips when she greeted him. "Missed you, honey. How have you been?"
“Fine, mom. And you look as radiant as ever.”
Nina, his mother, slapped his shoulder. “Aren’t you a sweetheart?” Her eyes shifted beside him, narrowing when she noticed Allie clutching on to his wrist.
“And you are?”
“Allie”, The omega introduced herself, her voice caught up.
“She’s with me,” Nate said in a stern voice.
Before they could go into details, Matthew Harper entered the room and sent his daughters to their rooms.
The Alpha never felt smaller in his life. Staring straight into the eyes of his father, seeing some of his features reflected in the unsatisfied grimace, seems to shook him to his core. They moved to the living room, Allie following him with her lips pursed.
Disappointing his parents made his stomach curl, pair that off with the news he was about to deliver would ultimately change their perspective of their firstborn son for the rest of their lives didn't help.
When he felt a gentle shove at his shoulder from Allie, the Alpha realised that he hasn't spoken in nearly a minute, and both of his parents were still waiting for their son to speak.
He looked over to the omega, who's subtly nodding along. Internally, Nate just kept reminding himself that he had to act assured, but he couldn’t help but feel that he's already failing at the strategy.
"I have something really important to tell," He started, "And real exciting, too."
His parents didn’t speak, but their expressions rapidly change from worried to confused to sceptical. They waited for him but the Alpha couldn’t say it.
"I’m pregnant." Allie blurted out, tired of waiting for him.
The silence was resounding, blanketing the entire room and Nate felt suffocated. His parents still hadn’t said a word, but they did not break eye contact with their son once. Goosebumps prickled at his skin.
His father's lips were set in a stern line, and his oval glasses perched low on his nose as he looked between the two of them on the couch. The most concrete emotion that Nate could pin down was his father's discontent. He could feel his father's discontent radiating off of the man's body in overwhelmingly hot waves.
"So," Matthew rumbled, slapping his hands together before folding them. “Are you both bonded yet? I don’t see the mark”
“Dad!”
“Matthew!” Nina slapped his thigh. “Calm down!”
And what?!
Nate shifted his head so rapidly between his father and his mother that he's beginning to get dizzy. Allie gasped by his side, her eyes wide and gripping the pillows like she would claw them in half. Honestly, he wouldn’t blame her if that happened.
The Alpha swallowed, “Dad—”
“No”, Matthew cut him off. “I don’t care about your excuses. No pup of this pack will be born to unmated pair. Hellhounds do not function like that.”
“Werewolves do” Allie sharply cut him off.
Nate grind his teeth together, hands curled into a fist. Fucking hell! Why did she have to say that to his father? They did plan on telling his parents, but not like that. Not springing all the information like that.
“Excuse me, young lady?”
“It’s Allie”, She corrected.
Matthew clenched his jaw. “Allie, you do not praise the enemies. That’s rule number one of being a part of this pack.”
Nate knew he could not be the only one to have heard the absurdity that left his father's lips only by the raised eyebrows and parted lips of his mother. Granted, they fought with werewolves here and there, but it meant nothing. Not when a Pure Omega was carrying their future generation in her womb.
“I think that’s going to be difficult considering I am one of them” Allie crossed her arms against her chest, brows knitted together. The Alpha felt the breath knocked out of his chest as those words left her mouth.
“You can't be serious right now," Matthew stood up abruptly, his eyes wide. His wife tried to calm him but to no avail. The Pack Alpha searched for any type of escape right now, as if he’s ready to scream.
“Is it true, Nate?”
His father had grown increasingly cross as he asked the question, and Matthew looked closer to an angry eruption than his son would like to admit.
Nate sighed. “Yes, Dad.”
“I don’t think that is all.”
“Allie is a Pure Omega”
“Wow”, Matthew slumped down, his head in his hands. “This is a lot to process. I need some space to think about this. Please show yourself out.”
Allie opened her mouth to speak, but Nina shook her head.
The Alpha didn’t have the time or mental space actually to think it through, so it made sense that he’s left with no way but leave his parent’s property. He’s resigned himself to walking, not bothering to notice if Allie was following him. Nate had it all planned in his head, but the omega ruined it. Just then, he heard his name being called.
“Nate! Wait!” It’s Allie, and for a minute, he considered not acknowledging her. But, the Alpha was not better at doing that. Ignoring her. So he turned around, eyes blazing and lips pressed in a straight line.
