#678 - Mark: Dad, did I disappoint you?
Anissa crashed into the sea like a meteor, sending up a spray of water that resembled a small tsunami.
She lay dazed in the water, her head barely clearing the fog of unconsciousness, when Peter's fist slammed into her face, sending her flying backward.
Peter's punch carried all his fury, driving her deep into the sea.
"Looks like you didn't know who you were messing with."
Peter's voice was low and dangerous, like a roused lion.
He hadn't expected his son to be beaten so badly.
Although in the original timeline, Invincible was always getting thrashed, he would always come back stronger than ever.
And each time he resurrected, he would become stronger, like a Saiyan.
He never expected Mark to suffer the same fate, his face covered in blood.
Looking at the culprit, Peter's expression turned grim.
Looks like if I don't show my teeth, these people will think I'm just a house cat?!
Anissa stood up from the water, shaking the droplets from her head.
"Who... who are you?!"
Anissa panted slightly, watching Peter warily.
She hadn't expected anyone to have a heavier punch than her.
That last punch had sent a wave of bone-deep pain through her.
Reaching up to touch her nose, she was shocked to find that she was bleeding.
How could this be?!
Anissa looked at the blood on her hand in disbelief.
This was the first time she had ever been punched hard enough to get a nosebleed.
"I am Peter Patrick, the one you're looking for."
Peter said to her coldly, "Did you enjoy hitting my son? Now, let me give you a taste of that same feeling."
As soon as Peter finished speaking, he activated his super speed, instantly moving in front of Anissa.
His fist whistled through the air as it aimed straight for her face.
Startled, Anissa dodged the blow and swung a powerful kick at Peter's waist.
Peter neither dodged nor blocked, taking the full force of the kick while simultaneously grabbing her ankle, and then swinging her around to smash her into the ground.
"Bang!"
The beach cratered upon impact, and Anissa grunted in pain.
Ignoring the pain, she quickly retaliated.
Planting her hands on the ground, Anissa sprang to her feet in a reverse somersault, delivering an uppercut that cracked through the air towards Peter's chin.
Peter leaned back to avoid the blow, and then seized her arm and executed an over-the-shoulder throw, slamming her into the sand once more.
Landing on her back, Anissa gasped for breath.
"You're too weak, Viltrumite. If everyone on your planet is like you, how do you expect to rule Earth, let alone the universe?"
Hearing Peter's taunts, Anissa stood up, fueled by rage.
She had not expected Peter to be so powerful.
She had only ever sensed such power from General Kregg.
"What's wrong? Losing confidence, Anissa? Or is it that fear has already filled your heart?"
Peter continued to mock her.
"Hraaah!"
Anissa roared as she lunged at Peter.
"Bang!"
Peter's fist came in with a sonic boom, Anissa dodged, but Peter's knee strike came immediately after.
This blow struck Anissa's ribs hard, and she felt her internal organs vibrate.
"Too slow!"
Peter's voice exploded in her ear.
Peter floated in the air, looking down at her in the water, and said coldly, "It seems you're not as strong as you claimed, Viltrumite."
Insulted and humiliated by Peter, Anissa lost all her previous composure and nobility, roaring as she charged at Peter.
Their fists collided in mid-air, the shockwave shattering all the windows of the surrounding cruise ships.
Anissa felt a tingling in her arm, but she immediately changed her attack, her left hand clawing at Peter's throat.
Peter dodged, grabbed her wrist, and slammed her into the ground again.
Anissa adjusted her stance in mid-air, her feet slamming heavily into the ground, instantly collapsing the ground within a hundred meters.
"That's more like it!"
Peter couldn't help but say as he saw her sudden burst of power.
Then Peter suddenly accelerated, moving so fast that he was almost invisible.
Anissa only had time to raise her arms before she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen.
"Bang!"
Peter seized an opening and landed a heavy punch in her abdomen.
Anissa groaned, her body curling slightly.
Then Peter unleashed a blast of God-like power from his right hand, and with a "Boom", the silver energy blasted out and slammed into Anissa, sending her flying.
Anissa was sent flying backwards, crashing heavily into the ground, shaking the earth.
Unable to stand up, Anissa panted raggedly, she could feel that several of her ribs were broken.
Blood trickled from her mouth, her whole body was in agony, and she lay on the ground, looking at Peter as he walked towards her.
No matter what, she had not expected Peter's power to be so terrifying.
"Who... who exactly are you?"
Anissa asked Peter, gasping for breath.
"I am an ordinary man, an ordinary Smallville farmer."
"Now, the game is over."
Peter looked down at her coldly and said, "Remember in your next life, don't mess with kids who have dads."
At the same time.
At the Global Defense Agency base, everyone was completely numb watching this scene.
Anissa, who had a 92% win rate against Invincible, was just completely defeated like that?!
This Viltrumite was completely helpless in front of Peter.
The power unleashed by an angry Peter Patrick was so terrifying!
Atom Eve looked at Peter on the screen, her mouth slightly open, her whole body in disbelief.
First the blackened Raven, now Peter exploding in anger.
Was the daily life of the Patrick family this exciting?
Mark, who slowly stood up on the beach, saw his father preparing to finish off Anissa and stopped him.
"No, Dad!"
Peter looked at Mark after hearing his voice.
"Don't kill her, Dad. From the beginning, she didn't intend to kill me. I can feel it. She didn't have any murderous intent, she didn't really want to kill me. She's just a messenger."
Mark was touched that his father had vented his anger for him and beaten her up.
But he didn't want Anissa to die at his father's hands.
Peter sighed and said to him, "Your excessive kindness won't make others grateful to you, Mark."
"I know. I'm not trying to get anyone's gratitude. I just... I just don't want you to kill someone who shouldn't die because of me."
Mark said to Peter with a pleading expression, clutching his chest.
Looking at Mark's pleading eyes, Peter finally didn't act.
He said to Anissa, who was stunned on the ground, "Leave Earth, go back and tell your people that as long as I'm on Earth, you can forget about touching it, or I'll turn your planet to dust."
Hearing Peter's words, Anissa did not refute.
She stood up staggeringly, looked at Mark with a complicated expression, and flew into the sky with all her strength with a "Boom".
After Anissa left, Peter walked towards Mark.
"Dad, have I disappointed you?"
Mark asked weakly.
Peter shook his head, "No, Mark, you make me proud. You didn't back down in the face of a strong enemy, and you kept fighting even when you were injured."
He paused, gently stroking Mark's hair, "You're much stronger than I was back then."
Mark coughed a few times after hearing Peter's comfort, Peter helped him and began to construct Runic healing runes, "Let me help you heal."
"I'm fine, Dad."
Mark said in a low voice, "It's just a few broken ribs."
Peter glared at him.
Just a few ribs?
He really started panting after being praised.
While healing Mark, Peter checked Mark's body.
This kid was beaten up by Anissa, but he awakened the power of the Viltrumites.
In the original timeline, Mark wouldn't awaken his power until he was seventeen and become a super hero in his own right.
He didn't expect Mark to awaken his superpowers now.
Looks like this was a blessing in disguise.
"She... she's very powerful, Dad. If she starts targeting the human race, I'm not sure I can stop her. Although I've awakened my power, my power is still very weak."
Mark said with some frustration, "Dad, if it wasn't for you... I might have really failed."
"We're always going to grow."
Peter patted Mark on the shoulder and looked up at the clouds, "You did a great job this time, no one will reach the sky in one step."
"Boom!"
Humiliated and seriously injured, Anissa flew into the air, broke through the clouds, and flew straight into space.
In the distant space, a Viltrumite spaceship lingered.
Anissa, her uniform tattered and disheveled, walked into the ship's control room.
Inside the control room, a man with his hands behind his back was observing the virtual screen in front of him.
"How was it? Anissa."
The man turned around and asked her with a serious expression.
The man in the silver uniform was about six feet two inches tall, with broad shoulders and a well-proportioned figure, and even though he was over fifty years old, he still maintained the upright posture of a soldier.
The mustache and the mechanical prosthetic eye in his right eye added to his mystery and sternness.
