Chapter 13
Xavier's POV:
"Uhh... baby, there is a new toy in my room. Why don't you go get it?" I asked, looking at her with my arms still around Rebecca.
"Okay," she nodded and ran to my room while I quickly removed myself from her and adjusted my hard-on.
God, what the hell was I going to tell my daughter?
"Oh my god, she thought you were hurting me." Rebecca burst into laughter and I couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked. I started to laugh too but soon Hannah joined us in the living room with a pout on her face.
"There is no toy, dad, and leave Becca alone," she had her tiny hands on her hip and tried to scare me away but u just chuckled, swooping her in my arms.
"I wasn't hurting Becca, baby. I was uhh... giving her a romantic hug," I prayed she would let it go at that and turned around to find Rebecca, trying so hard not to smile.
"What is a romantic hug?"
Oh, boy. Here we go!
"It is shared between two adults who like each other but you should be old enough to give a romantic hug," I explained and she nodded, with a thoughtful look on her face.
"I saw Matthew's mom and dad hug each at school. Is it something like that?"
"Uhhh...yeah. It's kind of late so come on, let's get you in bed." I started to walk towards her room and she opened her mouth again.
"Does that mean Becca is going to be my mom?" My eyes went wide at her outburst and quickly disappeared inside her room. Crap, I hope Rebecca didn't hear that. The last thing I wanted to do was make her feel uncomfortable.
"I don't know, baby. How do you feel about Rebecca?" I asked as I laid her on the bed and placed the duvet on top of her.
"I like her, dad. You look happy when she is around."
"Is that so?" I let out a small chuckle, caressing her chubby cheeks.
"Yeah," she grinned widely and I kissed her forehead.
"Shall I read you a story?" I asked, trying to divert her mind and she nodded eagerly. She fell asleep halfway through the story and I turned off the lamp and walked outside. I found her, drinking a glass of wine near the window.
"Hey," I called out to her, stuffing my hands in my jean pocket. She turned around with a huge smile on her face, making my heart skip a beat.
God, this woman was killing me.
"Is she asleep?"
"Yeah and I'm sorry about that. She is a curious little kid," I let out a nervous chuckle and she placed the glass on the table, coming closer towards me.
"She is so cute and you are a really good dad, Xavier." She whispered, caressing my jaw and I closed my eyes, loving the feel of her soft hands. I opened my eyes to find her gazing at me with a small smile at the corner of her lips.
"I should get going," she whispered.
"Come on, It's late. Stay the night," I swallowed hard and pulled her closer. Neither of us spoke a word and I could feel her heart racing wildly. She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me softly. I smiled against her lips and lifted her, wrapping her legs around my waist. We made our way towards my room and I gently placed her on my bed.
"You know, I really wish you stayed the night," I pouted as I drove her back to her apartment.
"I have work tomorrow, Xavier," she gave me an apologetic smile and I nodded in understanding, "I had a great time and thank you so much for being so understanding," she spoke softly with a small blush on her face and I smiled at how cute she looked.
"I had a great time too," I smirked, thinking about our hot, steamy make-out session and she hit my arm playfully, making me chuckle. Soon we reached her building and I walked her to the door.
"Good night,"
"This isn't the right way to say good night, darling." I snaked my arms around her waist and kissed her deeply when the door burst open. I pulled back from her and turned my head to see a guy with jet back hair and grey eyes, adorning an angry look on his face.
"Uhhh, Xavier...this is Nate, my best friend, and Nate, this is Xavier." She introduced us and I smiled at him, extending my hand.
"Nice to met you, man." He shook my hand firmly with a curt nod and walked down the hallway without saying a word.
Weird.
"He is always grumpy. Don't mind him," she gave me a nervous chuckle and I kissed her forehead, my lips lingering a bit longer than usual.
"It's okay. Good night, gorgeous," I whispered against her ears and felt her intake a huge breath. With one last look, I walked away from her and started to miss her instantly.
Man, she was turning me in a lovesick puppy!
Few days passed by, Things were going great between me and Rebecca. I helped her with finding a place near the school and moving in. We were spending a lot of time together and I found myself falling for her with every passing day. I didn't know if she felt the same way but she made me so fucking happy.
"Where are we going?" Hannah kept jumped in her seat as we drove to my mom's place.
"Grandma's house,"
"Another adult meeting?" she asked innocently but it felt like she was teasing me.
"Yeah, something like that." My cheeks went red and I focused on the road.
"This time I can give Grandma's cookies to Becca and don't eat them like last time," she said in a stern voice and I raised my eyebrows at her tone.
"Yes, ma'am." I laughed, ruffling her hair.
Once we reached my mom's place, she jumped out of the truck and ran towards the door. I rang the doorbell and waited for my mom to open the door.
"There is my favorite granddaughter," I heard my mom's voice and turned around to see her lifting Hannah, "Come in, big boy," she gestured towards me and I walked inside with a huge grin.
"Let me guess, another date with your pretty lady." She wiggled her eyebrows in a suggestive manner and I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, mom."
"You should bring her home, young man. I hear you talk about her all the time and I'm curious about this woman. Does she even exist, Hannah?" She asked her and Hannah nodded enthusiastically.
"Yeah, Grandma. Becca is the best. I love her," she spoke with so much excitement and her entire face lit up, "She teaches me to draw. Wait, I show you," she started pulling out her notebook and we both chuckled at her excitement.
"Looks like she won both my babies heart,"
"She is really something else, mom." I sighed dreamily, thinking about her.
"If you like her so much then I think you should tell her the truth, Xavier. It's not good to hide certain things." She said in a concerned tone and I froze immediately.
"I know mom but she said she wanted to keep it casual and what if this makes her feel uncomfortable?"
"Nonsense, I know all about women. 'Causal' is just a fancy word. She is afraid to trust you, so only if you open up, she will feel comfortable enough to let you in,"
"She did admit that someone broke her heart," I replied, thinking about our conversation from our first date.
Fuck, I would never break her heart.
"There you go. Men are so dumb sometimes," she shook her head and I rolled my eyes at her.
"Okay, I'll tell her soon." I gave her a small smile and she kissed my forehead.
"How about some cookies before you leave?"
"Ofcourse, why do you think I'm sitting here instead of being on my way already?" I teased. She smacked my head and made her way toward the kitchen. Just then my dad came downstairs and entered the kitchen, hugging my mom from behind and she blushed like a little girl. My lips curved into a huge smile as I watched them being all mushy.
Gosh, they were so in love!
"Dad, look. Romantic hug," Hannah pointed at my parents and my eyes went wide.
Oh crap!
"Xavier, Hannah, sweetheart. I didn't notice you guys," My dad immediately joined us in the living room while my mom had her hands on her hip, narrowing her eyes at me.
"Uhh... I should probably leave," I tried to escape but my mom stopped me.
"Not so fast, young man. What have you been teaching my granddaughter?" I turned around slowly to find her giving me a death glare. If looks could kill, I swear I would be dead right now.
Yup, definitely not the father of the year!
