Chapter 30
Silence.
The entire room was filled with nothing but dead silence and he looked like he was frozen.
Was is it a good reaction or a bad reaction?
"Xavier?" I called out, trying to bring him out of his trance.
"Are you sure?" he asked in almost a whisper and I nodded with a small smile. Tears started to flow down his cheeks and he just hugged me tightly. I could feel so much love in that single hug which made me cry along with him. There is a saying that 'Actions speak louder than words' and it was absolutely true.
"I love you so much, sweetheart. You--I can't believe it. Fuck, I'm so glad that we are having another chance at it," he stammered and I could sense nothing but pure happiness in his voice.
"I know. It's going to be fine this time," I cooed, rubbing his back which only made him hug me tighter.
"Heck, I wouldn't mind dying this second because I'm so damn happy, baby." He chuckled against my neck and I pulled back with a frown.
"Stop talking like that." I slapped his arm lightly and he held my hand, kissing the tips of my fingers softly.
"Uhh...we can still do it, right? Even if you are?" he asked with a hopeful look on his face and I decided to tease him a bit.
"Actually, no. The early stages of pregnancy are crucial and the doctor mostly advises not to engage in any sexual activities because we may hurt the baby," I explained without a beat and he just stared at me for a good thirty seconds before letting out a huge sigh.
"Okay then, I'm ready to sacrifice sex for our baby." He pouted, making my eyes go wide at his response and I tried so hard not to laugh.
"Are you serious?"
"Of course, baby. I'm gonna change and then we can talk all night about baby stuff." he kissed my forehead and I couldn't hold it in anymore. I burst into laughter and he looked at me like I was crazy.
"Oh my god, you have really turned into a chick. Talk about baby stuff? Really?" I laughed so hard while he had a pissed off look on his face.
"It's not funny, Rebecca." He rolled his eyes and I covered my mouth as he was getting agitated with every passing second.
"I was just kidding, Xavier." I pulled him back as he tried to walk away from me.
"Like I said, not funny," he grumbled and I crashed my lips, taking him off guard and he started to respond immediately. I started to remove his dress shirt and continued to run my hands greedily all over his hot body.
God, I can't believe this sexy man was all mine.
"Don't you ever joke about sex again, woman." He spoke against my lips and tore my dress, making me gasp.
"Shut up and kiss me," I moaned as he cupped my breasts, kneading them softly.
"Fuck, do they get bigger? Man, I'm already enjoying this pregnancy." He groaned and bent down, latching on to my sensitive hard nipples. He pushed me against the bed and continued to devour every inch of me while I closed my eyes enjoying his lips on my body.
Absolute bliss!
Wedding day,
"Am I showing? Fuck, everyone is going to think I'm getting married because I'm pregnant, mom." I whined as she placed the veil on top of my head.
"It's only a month, baby. Nobody starts showing in a month. Stop panicking and relax," she comforted me as I straightened my wedding gown which was simple with a long trail behind and a sweetheart neckline.
Things were back to normal with my mom as I obviously couldn't stay mad at her for a long time. She was so happy to hear about our wedding and the pregnancy that she cried over the phone for almost an hour, telling me how proud and happy she was for me.
"You look so beautiful, Becca. I can't believe you are getting married. I still remember the day I dropped you off at school on your first day," she spoke fondly, caressing my cheeks and I smiled at her.
"I know. It still feels like a dream," I sighed, thinking about how my life changed in this past one year.
"You deserve this more than anything, Becca. You have been through so much and this is your chance at happiness," she replied and I nodded, pulling her in for a hug.
"Mom, come on. Daddy is waiting for you." Hannah burst into the room and we both pulled back and looked at her. She was dressed in a beautiful pastel pink gown and had a cute little basket with flowers in her hand.
We still haven't told her about the pregnancy as Xavier didn't want her to get the idea that we were pregnant before getting married. Sometimes, he was so darn old school and protective of her.
"Alright, it's time." My mom stood up and we walked outside the room. We didn't plan on having a fancy wedding and decided on a small intimate cermony with just our friends and family in a chapel.
"Take a deep breath," my mom whispered and laced her arm through mine. We started to walk down the aisle with Hannah, walking in front of us. I swallowed hard and try to control my nerves and took a look at the people around us. I saw Xavier's family and some of his colleagues from work.
I noticed Nate on the left side of the aisle smiling at me widely, taking me completely by surprise. He swore he wouldn't come to the wedding no matter how much I tried to convince him and yet here he was.
I wonder what made him change his mind.
I mouthed the words 'Thank you' and smiled at him while he gave me a thumbs up. I finally looked in the front and my eyes met with a pair of beautiful ocean blue orbs and I swear it felt like the time froze around us and only we were present in that room.
Xavier looked even more handsome in his black tux if that was possible and I couldn't take my eyes off him as I continued to walk. My mom handed me over to him and joined the others.
"You look so beautiful," he whispered as he took my hand, making me blush hard.
"You don't look bad yourself," I whispered back and he lifted my hand to kiss it. The pastor started with the ceremony and I honestly didn't listen to a word he was saying as I was too busy admiring this beautiful man in front of me.
"Ms. Thompson, would you like to go first with the vows?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, sure." I smiled at the pastor and took a deep breath.
Okay, I've got this.
"Where do I even start. Life wasn't perfect when I met you, Xavier. I was a complete mess and I had no idea what was going but then out of the blue, you came into my life and showed me what love was. I found you and Hannah amidst all the chaos that my life was and I will forever be grateful for that. I promise to love you, be with you forever and always be your friend, your lover, and, most importantly, your family, from this day until our very last days. Thank you for being an amazing boyfriend and a wonderful father to our kid," I finished with a huge grin on my face and he let out a shaky breath, looking stunned.
"Wow, that was beautiful." He whispered, rubbing my hands softly.
"Mr.Philips, please go ahead with your vows." The pastor smiled at him and he started.
"Rebecca Thompson, when I see you, all I can think about is how lucky I am to have a woman like you in my life. You are the most amazing, sweetest, and strongest woman I've ever met. You stayed with me even though you had every chance to leave me. You put up with my flaws and mistakes and never gave up on us even once. I still can't believe that you are marrying me," he paused, giving me a beautiful smile and continued, "I promise to choose you in a heartbeat every single time. I promise to be yours and love you and protect you always. You are the one I want to binge-watch Netflix with forever no matter what you make me watch," he paused, making me laugh as I tried to control my tears.
Pregnancy hormones were not helping the situation at all.
"Thank you for being an amazing mother to Hannah. I love you so much, baby." He choked out and I was crying rivers already.
"I love you too," I sniffled, praying that I wasn't looking like a horrible mess.
"That was beautiful indeed. Now, Do you, Xavier Philips take, Rebecca Thomson as your lawfully wedded wife?" The pastor asked while Xavier's gaze never left mine.
"I do,"
"And do you, Rebecca Thompson take, Xavier Philips as your lawfully wedded husband?"
"Of course, I do." I grinned widely.
"With the power vested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
"You don't have to tell twice," Xavier pulled me closer, crushing his lips to mine while the crowd cheered and clapped around us.
"Hi there, Mrs. Philips." He smirked, pulling back.
"What makes you think I'm going to take your last name?" I raised my eyebrows playfully and he rolled his eyes.
"You are really something else, aren't you?" He shook his head with a small smile and took my lips again. I kissed him back running my hands through his soft luscious hair.
Well, I didn't get the fairytale wedding or the fairytale ending just yet but I knew I found my prince.
My sexy, Prince Charming!
The End.
