The anger I felt at that bastard was beyond words. Even if he meant it honestly, he didn't deserve Cayetana. She was too good for him. Even for me she was too good. What the hell does she see in him?
When we got to my car, I opened the door for her and buckled her up. Dios, I had never seen her so drunk. "I'll take you home," I informed her while taking a seat on the driver's side. "No," she slurred, shaking her head. I tilted my head questioningly. "I don't want them to see me like that. It's humiliating," she murmured, rubbing her wet eyes. she had been crying. And it's because of that De Santis motherfucker.
"Okay, then I'll take you to our place. You can go to Ad-" "Mhh Mhh," she growled, shaking her head. "My parents would find out then, too. Can you take me to one of my apartments?" she asked, slurring. Mierda, she was completely drunk. And because of that, I definitely wouldn't leave her alone. Absolutely no way.
"No," I replied and started the engine. "What?" she murmured, frowning. I studied her for a moment. God, she's so beautiful. "There's no way I'm going to leave you alone," I retorted.
She shook her head in protest. "Ángel, you want to party!" she slurred. "I don't care. You are more important."
"Were you there alone?" she asked. "No, with friends," I reply and drove off the site. A quick look at her told me that her eyes were wide. "Friends aka my brothers?" she asked in a panic, while the smell of her alcohol met me a little.
I automatically shook my head. "Cayetana, imagine, I have other friends too," I replied, laughing lightly. Relief spread across her pretty face. "And where are you taking me now?" she babbled curiously. I grinned mysteriously. "Let yourself be surprised."
-
"Okay, now I'm getting scared," she slurred under her breath as I turned into the woods. I laughed. "You don't have to, princesa," I reassured her, laughing. "Are you trying to kill me?" she asked, narrowing her pretty green eyes.
"If I did that, I'd be pretty suicidal, mi hermosa," I grinned. She looked at me skeptically, which made me laugh even more. "I have no intention of killing you, Cayetana," I grinned and turned off the engine. "Where are we?" she slurred, putting her hand on the door handle. "At my cabin in the woods," I replied and got out.
I quickly walked around the car and opened the door for her. I held out my hand to her and she took it. If I hadn't been holding her, she probably would have landed really hard on her mouth, shaky as she hit the ground.
"I got you," I whispered quickly, putting my hand on her back as she almost flew backwards. "Gracias," she murmured under her breath.
"Come on," I said, pulling her toward the cabin. "Really beautiful," she slurred. I nodded slightly and pulled her on. We had to take slow steps, she definitely wasn't capable of more.
I took my key out of my pocket and unlocked the door. "Would you like a shower?" I asked her as I closed the door again. Lost in thought, she stood in the middle of the hut and looked down at the floor while shaking her head. "Okay come on," I said calmly, grabbing her hand again.
With slow steps I pulled her into the bedroom. Once there, I turned on the light and let go of her hand before walking towards the closet. I took out a shirt of mine, which should go at least to her knees. "Here," I said, holding it out to her. She took it and before I could do anything she pulled the dress over her head. I stared at her body, frozen, unable to do anything.
Damn her body. Like that of a goddess. Mierda, Ángel look away! my inner voice roared. And just as her hand went to her back, probably to undo her bra, my brain started working again. "Mierda, Cayetana!" I hissed under his breath, quickly looking away of course. I put my hand on my crotch so she wouldn't see the lump she had just made.
"You've seen me naked before, Ángelino," she giggled, slurring. Dios, she should go to bed and now. "When we were kids, Cayetana. This right now is a very big difference. Firstly, you know how I feel about you, and secondly, now you have-" "Boobs?" she interrupted, giggling. Annoyed but still laughing, I rolled my eyes. "Are you done?" I asked. "Si."
I turned back and eyed her in my shirt. It suited her. Before me she could wear it more often. Okay, you're having the wrong idea again, Ángel! my inner voice reminded me. I clapped my hands. "Now you go to bed," I said, pointing to the bed behind her. She looked at me in disbelief before asking, "Already?". "Yeah, now! Hop Hop!" I said. She rolled her eyes and walked towards the bed and snuggled into the blanket.
I was about to leave the bedroom when I heard her soft voice. "Where are you going?" she asked slurring. "In the living room," I replied. "Are you sleeping on the couch?" "Yes." There was silence. "Buenas noches, Tana," I murmured and started to walk again. "Ángel?" came her voice again. I could listen to her voice all day.
"Si?" She looked like she was just thinking. "Could you stay a little longer?" she asked hesitantly. "If that's what you want," I replied and she nodded. I walked slowly towards the bed and then sat on the other side. Cayetana moved a little closer and wrapped her arm around my stomach. "My life is going down the hill," she whispered. "Everyone ignores me except Alejandro." Her voice trembled and you could hear that clearly. "Hey," I breathed, taking her chin between my index finger and thumb, forcing her to look at me.
"They may not speak to you now, but they still love you. They are your family and even though they act like that now, they would still do anything for you," I said confidently. I couldn't put into words how sorry I am for her. That whole De Santis shit is really messing her up. Suddenly she sat up again and was suddenly close to me. Too close.
"I went to this club today to chill out for a damn night," she slurred. My eyes widened in surprise as she suddenly came closer to my face. "Convince me otherwise, Ángel," she breathed, and the next moment she pressed her lips to mine. I couldn't react that quickly when she suddenly sat on my lap. "Show me I'm wrong!" Again she kissed me. "Convince me you would have been a better choice, Ángel." She didn't kiss me this time. Instead, her eyes began to shine before a tear raced down her cheek. I was completely perplexed to reply. "Take away this pain," she pleaded, beginning to rub her hip against mine. "At least for one night."
I widened my eyes in alarm as I could almost feel the blood pumping into my cock. I quickly, yet gently, pushed her off my lap. "Cayetana, you're stoned!" I said desperately. "So what?" She came closer to me again. "I thought you loved me?" she slurred. "I do that and how I do it, and that's exactly why I won't comply with your request. As much as I want you, that's wrong. I know that and you do too. You would regret it tomorrow, I know that. And I'm not taking advantage of your condition!" I replied seriously.
A pang went through my chest. "And besides, I don't want to be a stopgap for Domenico."
Cayetana
I groaned and opened my eyes before immediately regretting it again. My head was pounding to the point of no more. "Mierda, how much have I been drinking?" I mumbled to myself before sitting up and rubbing my tired eyes. I blinked across the room and froze completely.
Angel's cabin in the woods.
Meeting Domenico last night.
My request to Ángel.
"And besides, I don't want to be a stopgap for Domenico."
Oh no. Please let it all be just a bad dream! He left directly yesterday, but I could still clearly remember his eyes. They looked so hurt. "Dios, I'm never touching alcohol again!" I mumbled, rubbing my face. "Fuck!" I hissed.
I looked around the room again, hoping that maybe I was just dreaming. none. My gaze stopped at the bedside table. There was a glass of orange juice on it and a pill in front of it. There was a small piece of paper next to it. I moved a little closer and grabbed the paper.
An aspirin for headaches.
Oh man, I would like to slap myself. Ángel is so sweet, takes care of me and I hurt him so much. That was not my intention. Mierda, I really didn't want that. I grabbed the pill hastily, put it on my tongue and then swallowed it along with the orange juice. I threw the covers off my body and got off the bed. I immediately had to apologize to Ángel. I was so sorry. I never wanted to hurt him. And I didn't want him to be a stopgap for Domenico either.
I stopped in front of the door, swallowing hard. What if he's mad at me now? I took a deep breath in my lungs before leaving the bedroom. So I was right in the living room.
Ángel, who was sitting on the couch, looked at me. I nervously began to play with my fingers. "Buenos dias," I murmured sheepishly. "Buenos dias," he replied.
I walked slowly to the couch and sat next to him. For a moment there was an awkward silence. I didn't know how to start. "Lo siento," I whispered. "I...I didn't mean to do that. I'm sorry," I mumbled in embarrassment, looking down at my fingers.
"I didn't mean to hurt you, Ángel. I'm really so sorry," I breathed, tears welling in my eyes. Ángel is my friend and like everyone else always there for me. He didn't deserve this.
A few tears ran down my cheeks. "You have to believe me that I didn't want that. I didn't want to hurt you," I protested, suppressing a sob with all my might.
"Cayetana," he said. I didn't dare look at him. I was too ashamed for that. "Tana," he said softly, cupping my chin between his fingers. He forced me to look at him. I tried to stop the tears but couldn't. I just mess up and screw up everything!
Angel smiled warmly at me. "It's okay. I know you didn't want this. You were drunk," he said. "Still. I didn't mean to hurt you," I replied. Smiling slightly, he shook his head. "It's okay."
"Really," he added seriously. "You don't have to worry, Tana. It's all good and besides, you were drunk," he said. I nodded hesitantly. "I'm still sorry," I murmured, which only made him grin.
"What time is it actually?" I wanted to know. Ángel glanced at his wrist watch. "Right at 12," he replied and I nodded. Suddenly a thought came to me. Damn. Alarmed, I jumped off the sofa and ran into the bedroom. I quickly ran to my bag, which was in front of the bed, and took out my cell phone. Alejandro will certainly worry.
As I tapped my display, I saw all of Ale's and Adriana's missed calls. I called him quickly. I had completely forgotten to let him know.
"Fucking shit, Cayetana! Where the hell are you at?" he practically yelled into the phone. I took my phone away from my ear for a moment, but I could still hear him loud and clear. "Lo siento, I forgot to let you know," I mumbled apologetically. "Damn Tana, do you know what I was worried about? Where are you and why are you calling back so late?" he demanded, upset, but I could clearly hear that he was relieved. "Can I explain all this to you when I get home? I'm fine," I assured him. "Okay, but come soon," he said. I nodded even though he couldn't see it. "Sí," I said quickly.
-
My gaze shifted to the left as the car came to a stop. "Thanks for everything, Ángel," I smiled slightly. "Seriously, that's not for granted," I said. "Yes it is," he replied. I was about to protest when he put his index finger over my mouth. "Now go in," he laughed. I rolled my eyes, grinning. "Thank you," I said as I got out. "It's always a pleasure," he laughed.
I slammed the car door and walked through the gate that had just opened. I hadn't even come close to reaching the door when Alejandro stormed out of it. He practically ran towards me and when he reached me he wrapped his arms around me tightly, so that I could hardly breathe. "Don't ever do that again! Got it?" he said frantically. "Ale, it's all good," I laughed lightly and wrapped my arms around him as well. He pulled away from me and looked at me in disbelief. "Everything alright?" He repeated my words, perplexed. "Cayetana, I thought something else! Especially with your... well situation. I imagined the worst possible scenarios," he explained. "I'm sorry, last night was something...well, how do I put it. Messed up? And totally shocking?" Towards the end I laughed lightly. "What happened?" he wanted to know. "Let's go in first," I said and was about to leave.
-
In my room, I fell backwards onto my bed. "So?" Alejandro began. "I went to a club and I got drunk there. Mierda, I think that was the first time I was really drunk. Well, Ángel was there all of a sudden. He was there with friends and when he saw me he came to me. He first wanted to take me home, but I didn't want that and I didn't want to go to the López either. I just didn't want to make a fool of myself. In any case, Ángel then took me to his cabin in the woods and had me there I then spent the night. Oh, and outside the club we saw Domenico. He provoked Ángel, who then punched him. Oh god, that was so confusing, and I was drunk on top of that. But I'm so grateful to Ángel,
For the moment, it seemed like the words were raining down on him and he processed them bit by bit. "I really owe him something," he said after the time. I sat up so we were sitting next to each other. "How did you feel?" Alejandro asked. I looked at him questioningly. "Mhh?" I growled. "When you saw Domenico," he explained. Just hearing the name hurt. "I can't exactly remember it, but everything about me felt stiff," I murmured. "My only goal that evening was to forget him," I said quietly. Ale nodded silently before looking at me seriously.
"Cayetana, I want you to promise me that you won't do anything like that again. All right, get drunk here and let Adriana come here, but don't fucking go to a club alone anymore. Who knows what could have happened there," he said seriously. I nodded. "Promise," I mumbled. Alejandro wrapped his left arm around me and gently pulled me to his chest. "I love you," he said softly, but still in a way I could understand. "You too."
