Author's POV.

"Hitting you so hard is all I've ever imagined myself doing after our wedding had fallen apart Abby. Can't wait to get more and more of you when we get home" Jack said to himself as he took his bath in the hospital bathroom.

He danced to the rythm of the song that had kept on playing in his head joyously, knowing that Abby was all he wished to have in life and she wasn't far away from his reach.

At that point, if he was seen by anyone or any nurse, he would be tagged and called a mad or an insane man ready to excape a psychiatric hospital.

He kept on dancing and thinking about their just concluded sex when suddenly, he heard the door open.

It wasn't the bathroom's door but the main door to the room in the hospital.

Jack peeped through the glass that was on his door and realized it was the doctor and nurses who had came into the room just to check up on his wife Abby.

He smiled to himself seeing how they were giving her preferential treatment like she was the president's daughter.

Jack stood for a while watching them and because he couldn't hear what they were saying to themselves, he decided to go listen for himself.

He was through taking his bath so all he had to do was to wrap his towel around his waist then walk up to them to know their reasons for coming.

Jack placed his hand on the door handle and was going to turn it around so it could open.

The door finally unlocked and he was going to open it wide so he could walk out and go have a chat with them but the worst happened.

The door was still opened halfway when he fortunately heard the doctor make a confusing statement to his nurses.

Jack paused for a while as he tried capturing and understanding what the doctor meant by "she should be grateful she survived part of it".

"Survive what? She only collapsed at the wedding venue so what could have possibly been her reason for such? Is she sick? I thought it was the pregnancy that was causing and making her feel dizzy! Is there something I don't know?"

Complicated questions about what the doctor had uttered kept on running through Jack's mind .

Abby was sleeping so she couldn't hear them speak about her being grateful for her survival.

"Hello there?" The doctor called out the moment he realized that someone was standing behind the bathroom door..

"Hello ? Who are you?" He questioned with his British accent which was sweet and breath taking.

They knew him as Doctor Albert and a professional when it comes to taking care of pregnant women.

He was doing his best to find out why Abby had collapsed the day of her wedding and now he found out, he decided to check up on her one more time before concluding her fate with her unborn child.

"Hi!" Doctor Albert went closer to where Jack was and had to tap him twice so he could come back to his senses.

Jack was obviously lost in his deep thoughts. He wished to know more about what the doctor said and that was why he kept on having complicated thoughts.

"Oh ! Hey doctor Albert?" Jack jerked before he feigned a smile at the doctor who had pulled him out from his imaginary world and confused State.

"Are you okay sir? And please who are you and what are you doing in a patient's bathroom?" Doctor Albert questioned as he looked perplexed himself.

"I am Jack sir! Abby's husband" Jack introduced with a smile on his face as his hand stretched out to shake the doctor.

"I see.. you are her husband and so you must have few personal information about her right?" Albert asked for a definite reason.

"Yes I do sir.. do you want anything?" Jack wondered as he looked at his wife for a second before looking at the Doctor.

"Well I think you should meet me in my office Jack, that's the only way I would be open to you" Doctor Albert asserted before he spurned to leave the room with his nurses.

For some reasons, Jack still had this burning fear in his heart that something was wrong with Abby's baby but he just couldn't place his fingers on it.

He wasn't that sure so he didn't want to conclude on a negative perspective.

"At least the doctor said she survived it right? My wife will be okay for me right?" Jack heaved a sigh as he hurriedly reached for his clothes, put them on before he went to see the doctor just as promised.

When he got to the doctor's office, he had to clear his throat first before knocking on the door.

"And who is that?" the sweet and melodious voice from the British doctor questioned.

"Hello Sir, it's Jack. Abby's husband" Jack introduced himself as he walked into the room or office.

"Yeah. You should take a seat sir. My secretary would get you a drink okay?" Albert spoke out with a cheerful smile on his face.

"Please sir, I would really want to know what is wrong with my wife and why you stated earlier that she should be grateful for surviving it!" Jack probed as he opened his ear drums widely so they could capture every single word the doctor was to say to him.

"Easy there Jack" Albert took out a piece of paper which had different gaps and boxes to fill.

"So I will start by asking you few questions Jack.. I hope you respond as expected" The doctor said as he began his questions.

"I will sir" Jack accepted his deal which made Albert chuckle.

"You live with your wife right? So what have you been experiencing in her daily activities recently?" Albert inquired.

"Oh, just the normal pregnancy pains and laziness" Jack hit his forehead at the thought of how Lazy Abby has been since she was pregnant.

"Pains huh!?" Albert nodded his head as he ticked few boxes in his list.

"What about drugs? Does she take stuffs like marijuana? Cocaine? Weed?" He interrogated .

"No.. no way. I don't take such so I won't allow her to do so!" Jack responded immediately knowing what Abby could do.

"That's really weird because her main reason for collapsing, feeling pains and being too lazy should be because of an abnormal intake" Doctor Albert paused for a while as he stared at the list in front of him .

Jack had to wait in bated breath as he hoped to get news about Abby's collapse soon.

"She must have taken something harsh to have caused her this pain which she is going through now! How come she didn't take any drugs or alcohol and she is this…." The doctor was about saying before a thought popped into his head.

"That's right… did she by any chance take in any alcoholic drink?" Albert looked at Jack as he wondered out loud.

"Drinks? Not really ..the last time she drank alcohol should be few weeks ago when I proposed to her. She was fine that night though" Jack explained further as his hands shook in fear of what the drinks must have done to his baby in Abby's womb.

"Oh Jack!! Why didn't you stop her? She is a pregnant lady and shouldn't take anything harsh. It could damage her system and thereby causing her womb to be a risky and an uncomfortable environment for the baby in her womb!" Albert stood up as he walked to where Jack was sitting.

He placed his hand on Jack's shoulder and looked directly into his eyes.

"Is everything going to be fine with my wife?" Jack inquired as his eyes became all moist.

"She will be fine Jack but the baby wouldn't. She was supposed to have a miscarriage but since she didn't get one, I think she is strong enough…" The doctor heaved a heavy sigh as he stopped his statement halfway.

It made Jack even more curious that all he could do was to ask the doctor what would happen to his wife and kid.

"Doctor come on, say something please" Jack urged placing his hand on Albert's hand that was on his shoulder.

Albert stared at Jack for a while knowing how bad he would feel to hear the truth about the pregnancy.

'I would still tell him anyways so it's better I tell him now' The doctor said Inwardly before opening up to Jack.

"Look Jack, your wife didn't get a miscarriage because she is a strong lady but that doesn't mean she wouldn't get a miscarriage in the future and besides, There is a 100% chances of her baby being premature or stillbirth" Albert uncloaked as he shook his head in disappointment.

"No doctor, tell me it's not true!!? How can she give birth to a premature child ? Please Doctor. Can't you do something to help her? To help me?" Jack said out voicelessly as he felt pained listening to everything the doctor said to him.

"I'm sorry Jack but I think you should just try to be patient here okay.. she might still give birth to her child healthier than you think" Albert said as he tried soothing Jack.

"It's a hundred percent possibility doctor.. she won't give birth to a normal kid!!! "

"Shit!!!!?" Jack stood up from the seat angrily as he went towards the wall and struck his hand continuously on it with tears filled in his eyes.

"She knew she was carrying a child and yet, she drank alot of alcohol!! Why didn't she stop!?" Jack cried out knowing how hard it would be for him to surpress the feeling he was having just because of Abby.

"Should have just been better if it was actually a miscarriage" Jack mumbled to himself.
