Abby’s POV.
“Hello Kay?” I started with a low voice.
“The management team is here Ma’am…and they aren’t smiling” Kay announced with a weary voice.
“Shit!! I’ll be there in a minute Kay, just hold them for a bit” I said and immediately climbed out of my bed panting.
“What? What’s the matter Abby?” Jack questioned looking curious.
“You caused this you know…you caused all of it” I accused as I struggled to get my body into my dress by all means.
“Come on Abby, talk to me please” He grabbed me by my hand and pulled me back to himself.
“Don’t touch me Jack…. Ever!!” I warned with a glare on him and immediately, I dashed out of my house leaving Jack all alone.
I couldn’t believe that I was held back in my house by some silly man . If the sex couldn’t wait then I should have controlled myself.
I got to the bus station knowing that it was pretty late then. I wasn’t going to see a bus but I just had to hope on something… anything at all.
“I need to know how Kay is doing… she just can’t survive the management without me around” I said .
I dipped my hand into my bag and ransacked it trying to find my phone so I could know how Kay was doing.
“Come on Kay…pick up..” I panicked placing my phone on my ear like my life depended on it.
Actually, my work life , my income depended on it.
“Hello ma’am” She responded immediately she answered the phone.
“Where have you been Kay? I’ve been calling you like for ages??!” I scolded her but with a low tone .
A lot of people were passing by and I wouldn’t want them to think that I was being Crazy or something.
“I… I am sorry ma’am… it’s just that I was trying to hold them back just as you ordered me to” She answered making me understand her situation.
‘Okay Abby, calm down now… you wouldn’t want to piss your secretary off’ I said Inwardly as I took in a deep breath.
“Just make sure you keep them comfortable… tell them that I’m actually stuck in Traffic okay” I advised and she accepted to do so.
I was still on the phone with Kay when I saw a black sports car coming at my stand. I wondered who it was but couldn’t guess.
The car had a tinted glass which blocked outsiders from seeing through the car.
“Who is that??” I said out when the car parked in front of me at the bus stop.
“Get in Abby, I need to make up for what happened at your place” He asserted.
It was Jack and who knew he had a black sports car?? He must have a lot of things that I don’t know about .
I looked around the place and realizing I had no other choice, I decided to hop into his car.
His car was actually my last option so I had to take it to the school.
We were inside his car and all I could think about was the fact that I was about to lose my job because I couldn’t Control my urge for sex.
“Gosh!! What have I done to myself this time?” I mumbled as I struck my hand on my head gently.
“Are you okay Abby??” Jack asked turning to stare at me.
He must have wondered what and why I was freaking out at that moment.
I ignored his question because he was the reason I didn’t go to work early.
“We are here!” I stated when I saw the school’s post ahead of us.
“I know Abby but we are not yet close to the gate you know” He smirked looking at the post.
“Let me out Jack” I demanded .
I just didn’t want anyone to see me with Jack in school. He was the one acting all bossy and rude to me in the conference hall the day before so seeing me with him could trigger a negative thought in their minds.
“I can’t let you off here Abby, I don’t want to stress you” Jack scoffed with his hand placed on his mouth.
“I want to leave now Jack…” I said but he still wouldn’t listen to me no matter what I told him.
“Jack if you don’t stop this car, I would be forced to open the door and jump out of the car. You get that??” I threatened with a cold gaze on him.
He wasn’t Alex, and no matter what he was going to do, it was obvious that he just can’t be Alex.
“If it’s what you want Abby” He immediately parked the car by the side of the highway and without saying a word to him, I climbed out.
I ran as fast as I could so I would get to my office right on time.
I got into the school and getting into the elevator, I wished it would go a bit faster.
Finally I got to my door, I took in a deep breath and counted up to three before I decided to open the door up.
“Well welcome Mrs. Abby” One of the management personnel greeted with a grin on his face .
“Sorry I’m late, I just… I had a lot of things to take care of” I lied as I stuttered .
I felt like dying at that point knowing what could become of me if I was going to get fired.
“Okay then Abby… we just came over to inform you that your salary has been slashed but seeing how incompetent you are, we’ve decided to take a more perfect track which could help us in the school you know” Mr. Anderson asserted.
“What do you mean by a perfect Track??” I asked knowing that something bad was about to happen.
“Why don’t you say hello to our new Professor” Mr. Anderson ushered in as he kept a sinister smile on his face.
“Could you get out of my way??” I heard a familiar voice from behind.
I spurned to see who it was that had the courage to kick me out of the way.
“Kay??” I called out looking shocked.
“What are you doing Kay?” I mumbled as I went closer to her.
“You reek of filth so if you don’t mind, I would really love and appreciate it if you just leave okay?” Kay sounded rude.
“She is our New Professor Abby so please, do as she says okay. Your new office would be shown to you by tomorrow. We are still trying to get it clean just to your taste okay” They announced.
Anderson was about leaving but I got angry.
I held his hand so tight that I didn’t want to let him go.
“I see you have tears running down your cheek Abby, why don’t you wipe it off other than holding my wrist” He pulled his hand out of my grip and immediately dashed out of my office or should I say my past office?.
Tears that I couldn’t control kept running down my eyes. I just couldn’t believe that someone I loved so much and see as my sister could betray me in such manner.
“Why? Just why Kay?” I inquired voicelessly.
“I guess you shouldn’t take everyone to be a friend to you Abby. I just took what I’ve always wanted and if you don’t mind, I would really appreciate it if you get out of my office. The rest of your belongings will be shipped to your house” Kay announced as she sat down on her seat.
I walked out of the office feeling rejected and betrayed. I couldn’t go into any class with such mood so I decided to go back home where I would have some rest.
I got out of the building entirely and was walking towards the highway slowly. My legs were trembling and my eyes made me feel dizzy as I gradually lost consciousness of my surroundings.
I was thinking it was because I was demoted but on a second thought, it could be an illness.
The more steps I took the more dizzy I felt. I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head and immediately, I placed my hand over to my head in response to stimulus.
“Please.. the pain is just too much please” I said out like I was begging someone.
After few minutes, I noticed I couldn’t hold it in… I couldn’t just endure it anymore.
I fell to the ground on my knees and within seconds, my body felt the cold sensation the ground had to give.
“Its so … cold” I stuttered while shivering. It was like I was dying but kinda silently.
“Abby??! Abby??!” I heard My name from afar and when I looked, a smile left my face.
“Jack!!” I whispered and that was the last scene I saw before I blacked out totally.
