~Arian Storm~
"Is everyone here?" I asked a little nervously. I didn't let it show that I was nervous because I spoke firmly to my pack. As an alpha you shouldn't show weakness.
"Luan and Zara are still missing." Alex informed me from the side.
"Why aren't they here yet?" I asked slightly annoyed. Today was my big day, how dare they not show up. At Zara it's not that bad as most of the females stay at home and take care of the kids, but by Luan? Luan was one of my closest friends. At least he should be here.
When I looked questioningly at Alex, he just shrugged.
"We're here!" Luan suddenly called panting, while Zara also arrived at the same time. Why are the two getting together? Shouldn't Alex be jealous or something? But when I looked at them, only a small smile graced his lips while he his Mate looked back dreamily.
Blind with love, but well, what can you do?
"Okay then let's get started."
I looked around again. All my brothers stood next to me, except for Jack and Kane, because they are still too young. For Tyler, it was his first hunt. He was only 12. Then there was my sister and my father next to her, who looked at me proudly. My mother wasn't a werewolf, so she couldn't run anyway, so she looked after Jack and Kane instead.
Close to my family was the still beta couple Costa and his mate Inala. In front of them stood their twins, my Beta Sebastian, his mate Anna and his sister Elvira. They were almost all present. The warriors, doctors, guardians and of course simple pack members.
...Only my mate was missing at my side...
Why am I thinking about it again now? I need to get her out of my head now, once and for all. I'm about to be the new alpha. After that, I can't even waste a thought on her. I shouldn't be distracted.
Now it could really start.
I looked again at my father, who nodded at me.
"Well then...transform!" I spoke for the first time with such a dominant tone that it had to be an alpha command. And sure enough, everyone around turned into wolves.
I too began to transform and before long I was the biggest wolf in the crowd alongside my father. I would have been that before, but now it's particularly noticeable.
I didn't hesitate, but ran straight into the forest. Such a large territory now clearly had its advantages. So all the wolves could spread out.
I ran to the front. In the corner of my eye I saw Sebastian's light brown wolf, which was catching up to me. He's the beta now and I...I'm the alpha.
My paws carried me further along between the trees. I was quick but careful to stay close to my pack to lead them. I led and they followed. I was just born alpha.
As we continued walking between the logs, I focused on my wolf senses. A hunt wouldn't be a hunt if you didn't catch anything.
I stuck my nose up a bit and soon I could smell a deer. Shortly thereafter he appeared in front of me in a small clearing, which was covered by the dew of the cool night.
The deer spotted me and wanted to flee, but I was faster.
I jumped onto the helpless creature and bit its neck. He was dead instantly and the first prey was safe. To announce that I had caught something, I stretched my blood-smeared snout towards the full moon and started to howl. The howl came back from all over the forest behind me. What a beautiful sound...
A few following wolves immediately got down to the meal while I picked up speed to keep running. After all, we all wanted to be fed.
Again I sensed something, but this time it was something different. It was a strangely beautiful smell of roses, which somehow also seemed very familiar to me. Where had I smelled that before?
Before I could place it, I saw something white a little further to my side. On closer inspection, I could see the snow-white fur. How beautiful...
The white spot came closer and it became a breathtakingly beautiful she-wolf that I would have liked to have made mine right here and now.
My concentration was now fully on her. She looked back into mine with her storm gray eyes. My heart wanted to stop beating as fast as it was already.
Since I wasn't paying attention, I didn't notice the tree that appeared in front of me this time, but ran straight into it. Fortunately, this hit on the head brought me back to the here and now and so I understood who just appeared next to me.
She shouldn't be here. I wanted to forget her. So why is she here?
Angry, I turned back and the white wolf in front of me did the same.
Beside us some other wolves came to a halt while others kept running. This situation only made it more embarrassing as they probably saw me run into the tree.
"You know how you left me?!" I said to my naked mate, my voice shaking. She wrecked everything on me and now everyone will have the image in their minds of you alpha running into a tree.
Tears welled up in my mate's eyes, but she swallowed them down the next moment and looked at me confidently.
"Then you better not get distracted," she said firmly.
My face took on an even more menacing expression before I relaxed and swallowed.
Because speaking of distractions, did I mention that this beautiful little woman was standing naked in front of me?
My gaze slid down to her exposed breasts and mating nipples, hardened by the cool night air. How I wanted to touch her...
Then my gaze slid down even further, over her flat, flawless stomach down to the middle of her body. How I like to empathize with her-...
I interrupted my own thoughts. Not because I didn't want to think about it, but because I noticed her sticking out bones. Why was she so skinny? Wasn't she getting enough to eat? Looking up at her face again, this time I also noticed her sunken face. Why haven't I seen this before, but she wasn't that skinny the last time I saw her, was she?
Lou felt more and more uncomfortable under my gaze and so she tried to somehow cover her body with her arms.
Only now did it occur to me that all the wolves who had stopped had the same look at them as I did.
"COME ON! KEEP RUNNING! NOTHING TO SEE HERE!" I yelled at them with alpha tone so they really disappeared shortly after. Also my beta and my dad, the latter didn't have to listen to an alpha command and probably did it just for my sake.
"And you're coming with me!" I turned to my mate this time. She wasn't supposed to be here, but now that she was, at least I could make sure she got something to eat.
