He buckled pretty quickly, but whatever. The main thing was that we were now on our way to the next small town.
I don't know exactly what the girls have planned. Definitely nothing with alcohol, as we were two pregnant women on board the sleek black limousine that took Linus along the forest path.
Yes, you heard right. We were able to convince Arian Linus instead of giving one of the warriors along, since Linus was a doctor after all and could help us better that way. In addition, all the males in the pack had combat training anyway, albeit not as intensively as the warriors. And we also have Elvira with us, from whom I found out that she is currently training a lot in order to be accepted into the warriors soon, even if her brother is not so convinced of the idea so far.
"So where are you going now, ladies?" Linus asked, turning the car straight onto a paved road that led towards town.
“First to the little diner that is near the old church. I'm terribly hungry," said Anna, who was sitting in the passenger seat, stroking her stomach.
"How do you know your way around here so well?" I asked. Sure, they were all from this area, but from what I gathered, people rarely went to the human city. Some had even never been outside of the pack.
“I come here often. My grandparents live here," she explained.
"Why don't they live in packs?"
"As far as I know they were sent here ages ago to have a look at the humans and after they were allowed to return they didn't because they liked it here so much," she explained with a shrug even went to a human school here and my family knew Luna Aurelia before the Alpha Arsenic found her."
"Oh wow," I said just by myself.
"Are we finally there? I'm finally hungry after this long drive," said Zara, who was sitting next to me, annoyed. But I understood her. After this long drive, I was also very hungry.
"Yes, it's already over there." Anna laughed.
Shortly thereafter, Linus parked the car in the associated parking lot and we got out.
A little while later, we'd all stuffed ourselves with greasy fries and burgers and were probably all feeling pregnant and fat by now.
"I'm full of shit." Zara said with a laugh and stretched out her stomach even more.
"Sorry Zara, but you just can't get at Lou's stomach." Elvira laughed now.
"Hey, don't mind my pretty baby bump," I pouted. Nobody minds my little pup making sure there's plenty of room in there.
"That's right," Anna agreed, stroking her own belly, which didn't even suggest she was pregnant.
"Oh man, why did I just come with you?", you could hear it sigh from the next table.
"Oh be quiet, Linus. You with your measly salad. Can a man ever get enough of that?" Zara asked, throwing her greasy napkin at him.
Again we all laughed.
An annoyed woman could be heard from Linus .
"So what do we do next?" I asked Anna, who had planned the whole day after all.
I was in a good mood and wanted to continue enjoying the evening. It had been dark outside for a long time, but I couldn't even think about going to bed.
“I was kind of thinking about the cinema. A new horror movie is supposed to come out today." Anna thought.
Movie theater? I knew what that was, but I'd actually never been to one, so I quickly overheard what Anna wanted a film for.
"Oh yes, I'll be there," I said way too exuberantly. I only knew cinema from my love films, which I liked to watch, so I really wanted to see one.
How exciting.
Everyone agreed with the idea. Even if Zara gave me an 'Are you okay?' look.
A short time later we were already sitting with popcorn and 3D glasses on our noses in the middle row of the large hall, which surprisingly we only had to ourselves.
I was spellbound by the screen, in which a girl was walking alone through the dark forest. Nothing unusual for us wolves, but the music accompanying the film scared me. Why did it all seem so creepy?
As a figure kept appearing and disappearing between the trees, my heart began to race.
Suddenly I screamed. This funny figure suddenly stood right in front of the poor girl.
The scene ended and I put my heart to it. What kind of movie did I end up in? I thought we were watching something normal. But that was definitely not normal!
"What kind of movie is this supposed to be?" I complained as everyone stared at me because of my scream. Luckily we were alone here and I didn't have to embarrass myself to apologize to other moviegoers for disturbing me.
"A horror film. What else?" said Anna confused.
Lou just burst out laughing. "I knew it. You hate horror movies. I'm surprised you agreed to that."
"Haha," I said, putting a hand on the left side of my chest to calm my heart, which was beating way too fast. Why would you want to do this to yourself?
"Are you all right? I can feel your fear I'll be on my way soon..." I heard my mate unexpectedly through the Mindlink.
Oh gods, no! As much as I would like to leave this film, I don't want Arian to spoil our evening.
"No, everything is OK. The girls just dragged me into a horror movie." I reassured him.
"OK. Let me know when you want me to get you out of there."
"No worries. I'll be fine." With that, I disconnected and focused back on the movie, only to yell out again.
Shortly thereafter came the pain that ran through my abdomen.
Oh no my pup!
~Arian Storm~
I couldn't deny that I was very concerned just after sensing her fear. As more waves of her fear and panic swept over me, I forced myself to remain calm.
She is fine.
Like a mantra, I said this sentence to myself over and over again. So with sleep that's not going to happen today. Not when she's not here with me and I don't know that she's really 100 percent okay.
"I understand you, buddy. I feel it all the time too.", Sebastian, Alex and I went for a walk in the forest on this beautiful clear night. Somehow the three of us tried to distract ourselves because we were all worried about our mates.
It's a pity that Luan didn't want to come along, but I understand him. We're all trying to get our minds off our mates, and he probably felt like an oddball while we were talking about our mate issues.
Sometimes I wish Luan would get a second chance. A second mate who pulled him out of the deep hole he fell into after Ella was murdered. But he probably wouldn't even want these because he was way too attached to Ella. He would feel like betraying her.
"Dude, why did you even let them do it." Alex complained, bringing my mind back to my mate. "They're alone among the humans. What if what happens?"
"Do you know how these four women stood in front of me begging? I don't think any of you would have had the guts to say no . Besides, I don't want to draw the wrath of my mate on me. You know what a little dragon she's been lately." I defended myself.
We had to start believing in our wives. After all, they aren't little girls anymore.
Speaking of which, Elvira has submitted an application to me to become a warrior. That would make her the first female warrior in our pack, which is saying something.
"What do you actually think of your sister?" I asked my beta.
"What about her?" He looked at me questioningly.
"I mean by her idea of becoming a warrior. She's a female and the training will be tougher for her to compete with males."
"I don't know Aryan. She's my sister, but I don't want to stand in the way of her dreams." Seb stammered to himself. You could clearly see his insecurity. He was worried about her, but he didn't want to deny her dreams either. He was a good brother.
"So should I let her do it?"
You could see how he struggled with himself. Although I could make the final decision, I wanted his assessment. If he says no , then I will respect that.
"Fuck!" He ruffled his hair. "How did she get that stupid idea?"
I don't know, but I respect her for having the guts.
"Sebastian!" He's supposed to give me an answer so I know what to do with her. His swearing doesn't really help me.
"Yes, damn it. let her do it After all, she carries beta in her. So if any woman can do it, it's her. I'm just worried anyway. She's my twin sister."
There you go. So I will soon include Elvira in the military training.
Alex slapped Seb on the shoulder, grinning stupidly. "Don't worry, Seb. Elvira is badass. I already feel sorry for your mate." He laughed.
Seb lunged for him, but Alex was faster and jumped away. In flight, he transformed into his dark brown wolf form.
"So what is it? Running around the pack village, like before?" he asked through the mindlink.
"You don't stand a chance against me," I said confidently as ever and turned into my big black wolf, which was significantly larger than the others.
Sebastian also transformed and stood next to me a short time later with his light brown fur.
"Come on then girls." Alex said and rushed off.
Well wait. Big face, nothing behind it.
I gave him a little head start, after all, as my gamma, he was significantly slower than Sebastian or me. Then I also started to run leisurely and gave him the feeling of being the fastest. I let him have fun before I overtake him just before the end, like I do every time.
We ran through the darkness like young wolves, when I ran next to Seb we warned each other with smaller bites and encouraged each other.
It was fun and liberating. Exactly what I needed that day to clear my head.
Lou's fine, I told myself again, and then tried to forget about her for the rest of the race.
