~Arian Storm~
The weeks flew by and finally Mathilda was ready to leave the dreary hospital. We were finally able to bring her home. In addition, I had prepared a surprise in the free minutes that Lou knew nothing about.
I'm looking forward to their reaction.
"Have you got everything?" I asked my mate, who was just checking the closet in her room for things.
Even though Lou has been healthy for a long time, she still moved into this room because she didn't want to be far away from Thilda. Even I've slept here more often to take care of my family, but I haven't been here as much as I used to because I had my alpha duties. Just after I killed Alpha Maddox, there was a lot of work to do to integrate the new members. I decided to let them live on their old pack territory. Those who wanted to come were allowed to do so, and I also allowed the others to move there as well. For this, all other huts that are built in the future should be built between their village and ours, so that in the distant future the two villages will grow together like a werewolf town in the middle of the forest.
However, since I still needed help to watch out for so many werewolves, I decided to use gamma wolves.
Most packs were too small to require a third in line, but as my pack may now be the largest in the world, it was sorely needed here.
I chose Alex and Luan as Gamma Wolf, sending Luan over to the second village. He was in charge when Seb or I weren't there, which will be most of the time. My ulterior motive was that he would again be given a task in life that would distract him. And who knows, maybe he'll meet one or the other she-wolf over there who doesn't have a mate anymore either.
At least that's what I wish for him.
Since Alex was also a close confidante of mine, I promoted him as well and could now count on his help to keep this large pack under control.
"Yes we can. I'm looking forward to finally being able to sleep in bed at home again." My mate came up to me and kissed the head of Mathilda, who I was holding in my arms. She was wrapped up nice and warm because it was getting colder and stormy outside she lay snuggled up in my arms with an extra blanket.
Lou grabbed the small bag her stuff was in and preceded me to leave the pack hospital.
On the way she said goodbye to everyone. "See you soon. See you!" She was in a very good mood. So was I. Hopefully soon she'll be even happier once she sees my surprise.
When we were finally out in the fresh air, which was blowing a decent breeze, she headed straight for the pack house, but I stopped her.
"This way Lou!" I stopped her.
Confused, she turned to me only to see my free hand outstretched, which I held out to her.
Still irritated, she accepted this and so I led her into the forest.
"Why are you taking me to the flower meadow?" she asked after a while, remembering which way we were going. I didn't answer, but instead led my two girls further into the forest.
When I saw the sunlight shining on the clearing, I smiled. Now it was time. The log cabin right next to the clearing didn't catch your eye at first, but when Lou saw it she stopped immediately.
"W-What's this going to be?" I turned to her. She wide-eyed in admiration of the house, which wasn't huge but had enough room for more children.
"Welcome home," I said simply, giving her the moment to process what I said.
She just stood there, gaping. Exactly the reaction I was hoping for. She should wait till she sees the inside.
"Come my angel, I'll show you from the inside."
She just nodded presence of mind while still looking at our new home. Since she didn't move by herself, I just pulled her towards the house by the hand.
Arrived in front of the door, I unlocked it and led her inside, where we are immediately greeted by a large living area. This one had big gray sofas, facing a picture window, as if we were standing right in the forest.
To the left was an open modern kitchen with black cabinets, though the top was dark wood. On the other side was a large fireplace carved from fieldstone, which gave the whole a touch of nature.
To the left of the door, an unobtrusive door led to a bathroom, while to the right, a spiral staircase, made of the same wood as the cooking area, led to the upper floor.
Since Lou was busy looking around, I took the bag from her hand without her really noticing. I also had to be careful to move carefully because Mathilda had fallen asleep on my arm.
I put the bag down next to the stairs so you wouldn't trip over it. We can take them upstairs later, first I want to show Lou the rest of the house.
I took her hand again and led her upstairs. I turned into the first room directly to the right of the stairs. It was Mahilda's room. I had it painted a neutral white, but one wall had a warm green hue that was supposed to reflect the forest. Right in front of this wall stood her baby bed, over which white fabric was stretched, like a princess.
She's my little princess too.
Lou now had tears in her eyes as she looked at the loving design. And as much as I wanted to take credit for it, it was thanks to Zara who dabbled in interior design here, for which I was very grateful.
"It's beautiful," my little mate blurted out at my side.
I carefully put our sleeping daughter in her new bed and then lead my mate out of the room into one which was at the end of the hall. Our new bedroom.
The front of our bed was against the wall next to the door, so that we had a good view of the forest from the bed, because there was another picture window opposite the door, so that Lou and I could also wake up to this dreamlike view every morning.
The rest of the room was decorated in warm shades of brown which gave off a warm feeling, as did the dark wood on the headboard of our bed.
"Do you like it?" Actually, she didn't have to answer me. I could already tell from her reaction that she liked it. So I had done everything right.
"It's just gorgeous," she said breathlessly. Her gaze landed on me, and I felt my eyes go black.
It's time to inaugurate our bed.
