Gina's POV (๐๐ ๐๐๐จ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ก๐ฃ๐๐ค๐๐๐ฅ)
The cell was dark and cold. Gina had no choice but to hug herself to keep warm. The fact that she had been kept in solitary confinement wasn't lost on her.
Not only had she been convicted of murder, but she had also been convicted for three lifetimes. The bastards had had a field day with her in court.
She had been national news.
Damn the press, the judge and her daughter for putting her through this shit. She should have killed the wrench when she had the chance.
Footsteps began echoing down the prison stall, the person shoes, clinking against the metallic floor.
Gina shivered, fear gripping her. She didn't want to be flogged again. She was subjected to twenty strokes of leather whips every day, courtesy of Eve Red. How ironic it was, being tortured for the very monster she had created with her very own hands.
The footsteps stopped in front of her door and her heart began beating faster.
The mental clanged as a key was inserted into it. Gina sunk deeper into the cell, trying to hide from the figure that would soon inflict immense pain on her.
The door screeched as it was being pulled open. A tall figure stood on the threshold, hands in his pocket, cigarette on his lips, his frame drafted in an implacable suit, designer shoes adorning his foot.
Nah, this wasn't her assailants. This man was something else.
He walked into her cell, one of the guards suddenly appearing with a chair - which was placed in the middle of the room for him to sit on. He slowly rested on the stool, his thighs crossing over each other.
"Hello, Gina." He grunted, a puff of smoke leaking through his darkened lips.
Gina lifted herself from the wall. Going on her hands and knees, she etched closer in an attempt to get a better glimpse of his face.
"Wh - who a - are you?" Gina stammered, her voice gruff, throat dry from lack of hydration.
"Don't you recognize me?" As he said this, lights suddenly flooded the room, his face suddenly becoming clear. Too clear.
"Doctor Wang?" Gina gasped, her brows knotted in a frown.
What the hell was doctor Wang doing here? She thought. Before she could voice out her concern, he growled, "Doctor Wang is what the world calls me. But you, you will call me Jude."
That took Gina aback.
She studies his features closely, her eyes widening as realisation hit her. "Jude? How?"
Jude let out very deep laughter, his voice bouncing off the prison walls. "Of course you are surprised. How a mere gigolo became a renowned physician with a Chinese face, huh?
Gina couldn't speak. Too awed at the absurdness of it all.
"Wh - what are you doing here?" She managed to ground out, her heart beating with more vigour now. She could vividly recall the horrible things she'd done to him. If he was here for revenge, then she was finished.
"I am here to give you a second chance."
The information hit her like a rock. Second chance? What did he mean by second chance?
"I don't understand," Gina muttered, her tongue darting out to lick her lips. If he wanted a blow job, then he was going to be disappointed because her jaw wasn't up for it.
"We've been watching you for a while now." Jude groaned, taking a deep drag of his cigarette as he did.
"Who's been watching me?" Gina asked, puzzled.
"The government."
She gulped.
"Why do you look so surprised? You singlehandedly killed two very powerful men without any of them linking back to you."
"Until Eve." Gina gritted. Her voice was laced with venom.
"Yes, until your daughter came into the picture. Look, my bosses feel with the right resources, you'd be able to plot world domination, and that my dear, is our speciality."
Gina was on her feet now, pacing from one end of the prison to another. She hadn't expected this even in a million years, and right now, she couldn't afford to let this opportunity slip past her fingers.
"On one condition," Gina confided, her feet finally pausing in her pacing.
"You are not in any position to negotiate, but I'll indulge you. Let's hear it."
She beamed. "I want to kill Evelyn myself."
Jude tutted. "If you mean Eve Red, then am sorry to disappoint you. We have great plans for her."
He stood to his feet. "So, what say you? A storm is coming, and it would do you good to be on the side of the wind bearer. You onboard or not?"
Gina's eyes slashed into slits. "Get me out of this hell hole."
Even the devil himself could see the grin on her face.
