Blood Vow
Atasha's Point of View
Elijah began his blood vow with Alpha Gregory, he then started his blessings and prayers together with the priest the transfer of power to Elijah was intense that I could see Elijah was a bit nervous. But I couldn’t help but to be proud on him by the looks on his face. It was such beautiful sight to see. “Thank you Moon Goddess for granting my prayers, here were are now reaping the fruits of our labor because you let us to be here.” I was mumbling under my breath while I’m sitted as my blood vow was just finished with Luna Samantha.
“Luna Atasha,” Veronica murmured while she sitted beside me. I gasped as she said it on my ear.
“Can I call you Luna Atasha?” She chuckled and tapped my shoulders. “I’m not used to it,” I quickly hissed at her and rolled my eyes.
“You can now call me your mother, Luna Atasha. You don’t need to call me Luna just call me your mother. Since once we finished this we are now elders of this pack.”
“Thank you Ma, this is just my dream since both of my parents died.” I told her then her face saddened.
“Because it was our fault, I don’t know if I can fill in the role of your mother but I’ll do my best to advise you and help you to lead the pack.”
“At first, I think it was Crimson Moon Packs fault but the reality is it as all my former sister’s fault that’s now a Deveraugh. Astrid who is now Trisha. She’s the main reason why my family was killed and it’s not your fault.”
She no longer answered and gave me a hugged. “If there’s anything that I could help you don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m always be here for you.”
My eyes widened as it felt that her embrace was something that I was craving for when I was a child. It was indeed a warmth from a mother. “Thank you ma, I’ll take care of Elijah and this pack.”
“I know you can do that, being a Luna takes so much responsibility. We wanted to lead our shewolves to fight and have pride in their selves. You will met them someday and I’ll be happy to introduce them to you. Luna Atasha, the Silver Moon Pack’s survivors from the war might be disheartend on what’s been happening right now and they might be hurting because of you being the Luna of Crimson Moon, I wish you to be strong because this will not be an easy journey for you.”
I then glanced at her and she ended her embrace and looked me serious in my eyes. She then continued.
“I want you to prove that you’re the best Luna that will lead this pack. There’s a high expectation on you now. Especially, many people here some of them actually doesn’t like the Luna is coming from the Silver Moon, some of them felt betrayed and they wanted that it would come from the royal blood. But leadership doesn’t mean you need to be coming from a royal blood. In fact, I was before discriminated. I was not Gregory’s mate, he just propose and chose me as her wife because he needs to step us the Alpha to prove anyone that he can lead so I supported him. Even he was late to discover he’s true mate was and even It felt devastated in myself that he has a second wife, I chose to let him because as her Luna at that time It’s my responsibility to support him.”
From those words coming from her it was like my first lesson. She’s totally now became my mother at that point just like Veronica. I felt that she wanted me to become ready with these challenges that I’m facing as a Luna.
“I got it Ma. The sacrifices that you did wouldn’t be put in vain. I’ll do my part and be the best version of myself everyday.”
“Luna Atasha, you’re light should lead your Alpha on the best path that he would take. So support him whatever it takes, even it doesnt’ felt right at first. Trust your Alpha because at the end of the day he would do only what’s best for you. He might change for the better. You will probably be surprised that his way of dealing things would be different. He might be approaching you differently because that’s what will happen if Alpha is now thinking not just you but also the best for the pack.”
I then smiled to her and simply nodded, “Thank you Ma, I’ll remember that. I promise.”
Veronica then tapped my shoulders, “Luna Atasha, don’t be so pressured, alright? We will celebrate this!”
The happiness in my heart was not holding back because of the pile of responsibilities and expectations on me became clear. Especially what my mother in law Samantha told me that many werewolves are thinking that I wasn't suppose to be the Luna since I came from the Silver Moon Pack. Which I found understandable since we're there considered a rival pack ever since but not only that I don't have a royal blood in me. But knowing that Samantha is not Gregory's mate at all was surprised me and gave me a such a glimpse of hope that maybe someday they could accept it peacefully.
I have a lot of things that I could learn from her especially I know how difficult it was to be the Luna of the pack knowing that she's totally not the mate of Gregory then having a second wife was devastating. I'm scared to ask if she truly loves Gregory at that point but I'm not in the position to ask. But her story was truly encouraged me to fight the demons in my head because if she's able to managed to survive the criticism against her then why can't I? Perhaps I could be just like her or like I said the best version of myself.
