A New Found Ally
Astrid's Point of View
When I was a kid, I was always at the top of the class. Everything was easy for me to learn. Then, when I turned eighteen, I fell in love. I learned that it was tough for me to face the challenges without Alex.
He’s my savior, my knight in shining armor against this cruel world. For once, I believe that there’s love amidst all the judging eyes, gossip, and people that backstab me or use me for their own benefit. For once, Alex made me feel so special.
I truly believe that there’s a purpose for my own being and I was handed this opportunity to correct this society. I promised to myself that I wouldn’t put Alex's sacrifice in vain. He would not die in vain and his death would be put to justice.
Florenz then tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if I was alright. He said I was spaced out for a moment when I saw Elijah’s declaration to my sister. Even though we shared the same face, she was a bit skinny compared to me, so no one could determine if we were twins.
All the people inside of the room, however, were shocked and the silence was screaming loudly that they didn’t expect anything like this to happen. They didn’t know that the prophecy was already starting. If I were them, I would pack my things and leave this place.
The cursed werewolf has now infiltrated their domain. Florenz then grabbed my hand and he immediately pulled me out of the place. We stepped outside, and I then pushed him away from me.
"Get your filthy hands off me. Why do you keep always holding my arm?" If I remember correctly, I didn’t give you any permission to touch me. I even barely know you. "
"Trisha, I need to do it. Peter was looking for you."
Peter then approached us and he glanced over to Florenz, and with that eye contact alone, Florenz then walked away.
"Astrid, that’s your real name, correct?"
My eyes widened as he mentioned my real name. I then began to step backward away from him and I ran away. He then tried to stop me, and he swiftly moved in front of me in a snap.
"How did you do that?"
"Your sister, Atasha, is that the slave of Elijah? I asked his butler, and he said that she’s from the Silver Moon Pack."
"How did you know my real name?"
"It’s none of your business; you already get what you want."
Now get out! I’ll drag you out of this place by force if you don't. "
"No, Peter. "Not that I saw what happened at the banquet,"
Stop this nonsense. Your sister is now a slave. That’s the only thing that you wanted, right? Now that you know, please you need to step out of this place, because if not then... "
"Then what? I’ll be dead? Killed? Or was it you that would be dead if someone from the Silver Moon Pack got inside because of your own doing? "
His eyes glanced at the ground, and he began massaging the back of his neck. When he was spaced out, I began to run away from the backyard of the Alpha’s mansion. I didn’t look back. I bumped into a lot of people, including helpers and some guards.
I glanced at the guards, and they tried to catch me, but I heard Peter stop them for some reason. I don’t know what he was thinking, but I moved away as far as I could.
I sensed that he wouldn’t be able to say anything bad about me since he would be held accountable for having me here.
So I took advantage of the opportunity, and then I started looking for a way to disguise myself as a member of this pack.
Hopefully, I can find my own place. I might need to stay here to keep an eye on Atasha and ensure that I see it with my own eyes. Fall and suffering with the Montreal bloodline
Then I need to work my way through it. I’m not sure how, but I need to find a partner that would help me to be the Luna of building my own pack. To replace the old, we need something new. The fate of my future and the new is in my own hands.
I bumped so hard into someone, I found myself stumbling to my feet. I looked at who bumped me so hard and I noticed she was so beautiful that I got stunned by her pretty face. I found myself tripping on my feet. Also, her diamond necklace took me by surprise. It was the one that I saw at the banquet earlier. If I'm not mistaken, she's Margaux Deveraugh.
"I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine, no worries, I was the one to blame here, I ran so fast and didn't see you,"
"Your knees are bleeding. Let me take a look."
"It's okay, I can easily heal my wounds. You shouldn't mind me."
She began scanning my entire face, for the first time. I felt so insecure about myself. She's indeed the right woman to be the Luna of Elijah Montreal. Her presence screams beauty and elegance. Also, her scent, was not just a cheap perfume, she was wearing an expensive scent. I could only smell this from the rich people.
Even though I'm not sure why she was still looking into my eyes. Did she find it weird that I had a cursed eye from the witch? My eyes then reacted, and my visions went vivid. I was holding it in my head when I felt such a sudden headache. A loud scream and the whispers of a young woman were all I heard.
I know that I'm again hallucinating, and I'm used to it ever since I was cursed with these eyes, but this time it was different. I felt hatred and anger when I saw Margaux Deveraugh.
"Your eyes remind me of someone. Are you new here?" I came back to my senses when I heard Margaux speak. She helped me to rise to my feet. She then offered me some lunch as my stomach growled.
"I bet you’re hungry. Let’s go and get some food. My treat."
"My parents are probably looking for me. I should get going."
"Parents? Who are your parents and where are they from? "
I couldn't respond right away because I was stunned.
It was a bad move to mention parents in this type of conversation. "So I tried to excuse myself and walked away from her," she then stated.
Your eyes remind me of my sister. For some reason, when I see your orbs, it gives me such a nostalgic feeling. Especially when you’re looking at me with such hatred. "
"What do you mean?" I didn’t do that. I can’t even look at you straight in the eyes."
"Did you get those eyes from the witch?"
I bit my lower lip and she began to tap my shoulders.
"Come on, let’s eat. My name is Margaux. It's nice to meet you... What’s your name? "
"I’m Trisha,"
"No, your real name."
"Astrid,"
"Fine, let's go get some lunch; we have so much to talk about."
She ordered the food, and all eyes were on us. All the guys were lurking and checking her out. The food was great and tasted so good that the meat that I ate just melted into my mouth.
I haven’t eaten this type of food before. Even though Alex brought me to the expensive restaurant, the meals that were prepared were of much higher quality compared to those.
I started to reminisce about my dates with Alex, and I couldn’t help but to shed a tear. Margaux then noticed it and asked if it was what was wrong. She handed me her own handkerchief to wipe out my tears.
"You’re remembering your boyfriend?" You missed him, haven’t you? "
"How did you know that?"
"The way you hold your utensils and the way you eat your steak, it seems that your boyfriend brings you to some expensive restaurants. So where is he? "
"He’s dead now."
"Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that, Astrid."
We continued eating, and I tried to control my emotions that time around. However, a sudden headache began to engulf my eyes. I can’t help but look at Margaux with such hatred. I dropped my utensils and I threw away my plates. I dropped to the floor, then I felt my eyes burning, and I screamed in pain. That made the customers in the restaurant glance at me.
Margaux then immediately directed the manager to assist me in loading into Margaux's vehicle, and the next thing I knew, I was sleeping in a bedroom. It was such a great bedroom that I noticed some paintings and beautiful flowers surrounding the four corners of the room.
A knock was heard on the door, and I saw Margaux stepping in.
"Good that you're awake now, Astrid."
My eyes widened when I saw Peter also step in. "Peter was here, as well. He wants to see you if you're okay." She added.
I looked around and I saw a huge window. My instinct was to jump out and escape, but Margaux yelled at me as soon as I removed the blanket from my body.
"I know what you're thinking, Astrid. You're trying to jump out of that window and escape once again. If you're able to run away from us, where are you supposed to go? Peter told me that you're only here to check out your sister and ensure she's a slave now. But look at what happened. In a turn of events, your sister is now Elijah's Luna, I know Elijah was only playing games with her."
"She's her twin sister, Astrid." Peter then entered the conversation, and both of them walked toward the bed where I was sitting.
"You thought that I couldn't tell anyone, didn't you, Astrid?" Peter said with a smirk on his face. He's right though, I didn't know that he can tell this to Margaux, so it means that I'm in a worst-case scenario here.
Hearing the stories from my professors and old people from our village, the only way that a person that belongs to the Silver Moon pack escapes the terrible fate in the hands of the Crimson Moon pack is to be either a slave or be removed from the face of this world.
Swallowing my pride is my only option. These bastards might kill me if I don't speak up right away. They shouldn't also know about Atasha being a cursed werewolf because it might ruin my plan.
"I'll choose to be a slave. Please let me live. I still need to know some information from my sister. For me to continue living, I need to satisfy myself by seeing it unfold. I don't want to see all of my efforts vanish in the snap of a finger. Please don't kill me, I beg you."
I almost kneeled to my knee, and I felt Margaux's hands holding my shoulders before I bent down.
"You don't need to beg, Astrid. You know, I want to tell you something about my sister Melanie."
I was dumbfounded when she mentioned her stupid sister.
"What is it about your sister?"
"She had your eyes, if I'm not mistaken, the main reason you look at me with those devilish eyes of yours is that those are the eyes of Melanie. She spoke to a witch to cast a spell on me and now I'm here mateless."
"Your sister's eyes? You mean?"
"You know, Astrid, the one that I mentioned to you earlier before we arrived here. The moment I saw the way you looked, it truly reminded me of Melanie. I wasn't convinced at first, but now I confirmed it when you met Margaux. You truly have her eyes from the witch. "
Peter then excused himself and went outside of the room. I saw Margaux, teary-eyed and emotional. She hugged me tightly and eventually, I could feel the tears pouring down on Melanie's wicked eyes.
