One request
Murilo
I was still very upset that my plans to go out with Virginia had been thwarted because of the scene Bruna had made in my office. As if everything she had already done to me wasn't enough, she was back to mess up my life.
Despite this, being at home with Virginia was not and would never be a bad thing because the most important thing was that we were together. And when we were already in bed, after making love for the second time that night, we talked calmly, having forgotten what had happened at the company.
" You still haven't told me what led you to meet me at FERZ " I remembered, wrapping Virginia's long hair in my fingers.
Virginia was lying on my chest, and I felt her sigh. I thought she was upset by my question, but I soon understood the real reason.
"I didn't want to apologize to you again, Murilo, but I believe it is really necessary.”
I arched my eyebrow questioningly because I wanted to hear from her if she was referring to the visit to my family on Sunday that was responsible for our little disagreement earlier that day.
" If it is so important to you that your family meets me, I will go with you," She said but seemed unsure.
Still, I needed her to understand that this meant a lot to me.
" It is important. Not just because I want them to meet you " I explained. "I want you to meet them too, Virginia.”
I didn't wait for her to respond, however, because I wanted to show her how sincere I was in my words and I began kissing her again, this time without the gentleness of before, but with intensity because I wanted her to feel the same emotion that I felt.
" I love you, Virginia," I said, as we walked away "And I want to start a family with you.”
There was no reason to wait any longer to make that request if I was determined to have a serious relationship with Virginia from the first moment we were together.
But she looked at me with astonished eyes, seeming to have no reaction to what I was saying.
" I know it may sound rash, but I want more and more from you, Virginia " I continued to say since she seemed speechless "Will you marry me?”
" I don't know what to say..." This is what she said, getting out of my embrace and sitting on the edge of the bed.
That was not the answer I wanted, but I was aware that I was going too fast and that Virginia didn't feel ready for such a big change yet. Still, I would keep insisting because I was sure that we were perfect for each other and that she was the woman of my life.
" You don't have to say yes now, my love," I said "You just can't say no.”
I smiled, trying to lighten the mood, for Virginia's tension was palpable, a look of apprehension on her beautiful face.
"Let's take it one step at a time, please.”
" Yes, of course, " I agree quickly. "First, you meet my family, and then, when you feel secure in your position at my side, we arrange the wedding, is that okay?”
She smiled dully and didn't seem optimistic at all, but I didn't mind.
I was sure that after Virginia met my family and saw how simple they all were, she would no longer feel that way.
*********❤️*********
When Sunday came, I was feeling really satisfied with life. I was on my way to my grandmother's house for another family lunch, and the woman I loved was by my side.
Everything was perfect, and I was sure that the lunch would be wonderful and that Virginia would enjoy everyone, even Aquiles.
Despite being an idiot, I loved my cousin like a brother, and I was sure that he wouldn't tell anyone about how Virginia and I met. I had talked to Aquiles about it, and he had promised me that it would be just between us.
" You will like Artemis very much, I am sure you will be good friends," I said when we were already in the foyer of Grandma's mansion.
" You are always so optimistic, Murilo, " Virginia replied, rolling her eyes.
I stopped walking and grabbed her, putting her in my arms, too happy to be shaken by Virginia's grumpiness.
" Stop it, Murilo! " Virginia complained, but I realized that she was holding back a laugh.
" What's wrong with holding my woman in your arms? " I provoked her, smiling.
" Put me down, please " Virginia insisted but was smiling.
" Well, if it isn't a couple of the year! " A voice, which I preferred not to recognize, spoke ironically.
Virginia immediately tensed up in my arms and I cursed softly, unable to believe that Lavinia was there too.
" Put me down now! " Virginia's tone was full of anger, and I couldn't blame her for this attitude.
I lowered her down, but still kept her within the encirclement of my arms, even though she tried to disentangle herself from me, I still kept my arm around her slender shoulders.
" What are you doing here, Lavinia? " I asked, trying to contain the anger that was taking over me.
" I am Aquiles' girlfriend, have you forgotten? " Lavinia said in her sarcastic tone "I have every right to be here for lunch with our family.”
I closed my eyes and counted to three, trying to remain calm, while Virginia still seemed to be struggling to get away from me.
"I didn't know you were coming today.”
The complete sentence would be: I didn't know you were coming today, otherwise, I wouldn't have come myself.
" Everything is alright here? " Aquiles asked, appearing in the hall where we were all still standing.
" I was welcoming the new arrivals, dear " Lavinia said, her tone now very different from before.
