Frustrated Plans
Ethan
After a very busy week in which I focused on doing good business and getting settled into FERZ so that I was personally making life difficult for Murilo in his own company, I was now driving my car bound for Mariana's house.
That Saturday night I would be killing not just two birds with one stone, but three, which makes everything more pleasant.
Besides finally going to visit the enterprise in which I am a partner, I would be showing Arthur that Mariana is mine and he doesn't stand a chance with her, not to mention the main and most important point, I would finally be able to fulfill my desire to have that saucy woman in my bed.
I have everything planned in my head, and I was even imagining Arthur's face when he saw me arrive at the club accompanied by Mariana.
In a few minutes and feeling extremely satisfied with my plans, I was stopping my car in front of the house of the woman responsible for taking away my success for days, a whole week to be exact.
I had not warned Mariana about going to meet her that night, but I already knew that she was home, as I had provided something quite useful for myself, and had a tracker installed in her car.
The fact is that I am not at all worried about right and wrong in this story, and only after having done this, I could have more security and tranquility to work with, since now I always know where she goes and only this matters to me.
After ringing the bell, waiting to be answered by Aunt Celina, I am surprised to see the door being opened by Mariana herself, and I feel something strange inside my stomach, like a cold in the belly, but it must be heartburn or something, and I quickly think that I need to take better care of my health.
She was wearing what looked like green pajama pants, but they were badly worn, and a sweatshirt on the same level as the pants, but in purple, and I can't contain my displeased expression at the way she was dressed.
"What are you doing here, Ethan?" Mariana asks abruptly, "Especially with that face like you just ate and didn't like it?”
"Hello, Mariana! I'm fine, and yes, I'll come in. Thank you very much," I say, already setting foot inside the house.
She rolls her eyes in visible displeasure but makes room for me to enter completely, and after closing the door, she faces me, crossing her arms over her chest and I could already imagine what she intended to say.
"You need to stop coming to my house uninvited, Ethan," Mariana complains, not caring about niceties, "What if I wasn't home?”
I couldn't confess to her about the tracker, so I answered in an obvious way, considering that this had happened before.
" I would wait for you " I speak with a friendly smile, and walk over to one of the armchairs " In fact, I will do that now, too. After all, I will need to wait for you to get ready, since we are going to visit one of my businesses."
Mariana is still standing in the middle of the room, her hands on her waist, and now her expression is one of genuine disbelief.
"Business, in the middle of Saturday night?" she asks.
"This particular business is about a nightclub " he explained, " I need to personally check out my venture, and nothing better than a Saturday night to do that."
" Well, I must admit that you are right " she eventually agrees " But I cannot accompany you, unfortunately."
Despite the words implying that she was sorry, her facial expression said just the opposite.
"I'm not inviting you to go with me, Mariana.
" But you just said that, Ethan!"
" I am stating that you will accompany me. It is not something negotiable."
Mariana uncrosses her arms, loosening them at her sides, and frowns at me, something that amuses me greatly.
"I can't leave my aunt alone, especially today when she's not feeling very well and has already retired to her room.
Well, on that I had to agree with her, it wouldn't be right to leave Aunt Celina alone at that time, even more so since I intended to spend the whole night in Mariana's company and only come to leave her at home the next morning.
" And when you go out, who does Aunt Celina stay with?"
" I don't usually go out at night, Ethan. " she says and manages to surprise me " It's just the two of us and I'd rather not leave my aunt alone, like I just said."
That explanation said a lot about Mariana, even more so when she was still so young.
"You never go out at night?" I insist.
There has to be some alternative, after all, at some point Mariana did some evening program, I'm sure.
Once again she rolls her eyes in displeasure, and goes to the sofa, sitting with her feet under her body and staring at the TV, which only at that instant I realize was on.
"It rarely happens, because I avoid leaving my aunt alone as much as possible," she begrudgingly confesses, "But, as I told you, she's not feeling very well today.
Even though I don't like having my plans thwarted once again, I would never force Mariana to go out, leaving her aunt alone, when she was not really well.
" You shouldn't cancel your plans because of me, dear " Mariana says wryly " Go and have fun for me!"
She stared at me, waiting for something and I figured she was waiting for me to leave, leaving her free to enjoy her Saturday night at her leisure.
Mariana couldn't have been more wrong!
My plans to go to the nightclub, to check out my business and piss Arthur off had indeed been thwarted, but I would not give up on having Mariana that night, even if it was not in my bed, but in hers.
