Ava frowned slightly " Did I tell you she was admitted in a hospital? "
" Of course " He answered smoothly " You did, have you forgotten? "
She smiled, not giving any reply to that but Hunter wasn't ready to let go of the question as he asked again.
" She's fine now, I guess? " He asked
She flashed him a smile but he failed to notice that it was a fake one " Yeah she sure is, thanks honey " She said sweetly.
Minutes turned into an hour as they conversed, each word carefully chosen, each glance laden with hidden meanings. Ava sensed a flicker of hesitation in Hunter's eyes, a glimpse of doubt clouding his resolve.
