Alex had been thinking about this night for days. He wanted everything to be perfect for his evening with Ava. With meticulous attention, he ordered a stunning dress that he knew would look breathtaking on her. Alongside the dress, he selected a pair of elegant shoes that would complement the outfit flawlessly.

After placing the order, he decided to leave work slightly early to ensure everything was in place. As the clock struck 5 PM, he hurriedly completed the remaining tasks on his agenda, a spring in his step and a smile gracing his lips, unbeknownst to his curious secretary, Emily.

Observing her boss's unusual cheerfulness, Emily couldn't help but ask about the source of his joy. With a chuckle, Alex simply stated that something good indeed had happened but chose to keep the details to himself for the time being.

" oh uh " She whistled and Alex laughed lightly

As the clock neared 7 PM, Alex's anticipation grew. He tidied up his office, ensuring everything was in order before departing. The idea of surprising Ava, taking her out on a date, and seeing her in the gown he sent made his heart flutter with excitement.

He saw Maggie going upstairs " Hi Maggie " He called out, composing himself because woman was too smart for her own good.

" Hey Alex, you're back " She smiled.

" Yeah " Alex answered even though it wasn't a question. He looked around in search for Ava and his face fell when he didn't see her.

Turning back to Maggie, he asked cautiously " Have you seen Ava, Maggie? "

Maggie stared at him for a moment, searching his face for any clue but Alex did well by masking his expression. When she saw nothing interesting in his expression, she sighed in disappointment.

" She's in her room, I think " She finally answered

" Thanks Maggie " He said and brushed past her to go to Ava's room. He knocked lightly and waited for the door to be opened.

Ava opened the door, and her face lit up with surprise and delight at the sight of Alex standing there with a warm smile. " Hi there " he said, unable to hide his excitement. " I hope you're ready for an amazing evening "

Curiosity danced in Ava's eyes as Alex handed her the package. " What's this? " she asked, her voice filled with intrigue.

" It's a little something for you " Alex replied, a playful glint in his eye. " I thought we could make tonight special "
