I'M NOT KIERAN'S ANYTHING
CHAPTER FIFTY ONE
I'M NOT KIERAN'S ANYTHING
I don’t know if I should feel a good kind of special because Kieran treats me differently or a bad kind of special due to the fact that I’m the only target of his twisted tendencies.
Niki comes back after a while and the girls go quiet. Well, they couldn’t even say it to her face, at least. No backbone. At least she was going after what she wanted and persistent, even if what or more like who she was going after was the guy who refused to leave me alone no matter how much he pretends he has.
I’m literally living at his place and he’s still giving me the cold shoulder. Before, he’d go out of his way to provoke me and rile me up and I’d do the same in return, but now, it was like we were doing the same thing but at the same time we weren’t.
Once I had evidence of whatever Kieran was doing here at the ring, I'd use it to get Kirk out of his hands and then break free from his tight leash. I would work on contacting Dad and Mom or even Aunt Stella or Uncle Greg.
Then I can fully make him pay for everything. I’m done dressing up in the silk dress I’ve been provided with, high heels, a full face of make-up, and my black butterly mask to hide my identity.
“Aaliyah, let’s go. You’re in room B. I’ll show you where it is.” Niki said, and I followed her. We walked into a hallway. Its quiet except for the low classical music playing. We take a few left and rights till we arrive in front of a door and stops.
“So you’ll be here till someone takes an interest in you, then you entertain them, flirt, and you can even get laid if you want.” She giggles.
It’s getting Annoying.
I want to ‘ bitch shut the fuck up, hood rat. You're so cringe ' her but I don’t.
I’m sure if I stay here long enough, we’d clash since my mission was to find Kieran when she specifically asked me to stay away from him.
She opens the door that has B written on it. It opens into a dimly lit room that has stairs leading into an underground room. Loud noise reaches me. It seems it’s a crowd. There are a lot of people down there.
“This is you, Aaliyah. Most of the people here are occupied with the matches, so you might not be able to make much. MR gives this to the newbies, but after a few times you'll join me at the money pot.
I descended the dark stairs and walked towards the noise. I came into a more dimly lit open area with a huge cage dangling at the top. Everyone is in masks as they cheer for two other people in the cage who are beating the living hell out of one another. It was some sort of illegal fighting arena . I didn’t have my phone with me to take pictures or record anything and it was quite chilly in here too.
I was naked beneath the thin dress. I wrap my hands around myself as I walk among the crowd. Everyone’s mask was differentiated by colors and designs. Kieran was probably in a mask too. It’s only the other girls dressed like me who are without masks . Everyone’s focus was on the fighters. Good, that means no one is going to try and come onto me. The probability of that happening has reduced significantly.
I sat in an empty seat. It's in the back, where I can perfectly observe everyone well.
I don’t see Kieran. The fight is over.
People might start leaving, so I head out before they take interest in me. I’ll look at the other rooms and see what I can find.
“Our next fight is the most anticipated one and probably why most of you are here tonight.” An announcer begins, as the crowd yells enthusiastically and I slip out going up the stairs, tuning them out.
“.…..Zero…..” I froze as I heard Kieran’s code name. I didn’t hear what the announcer said but they were referring to him. I ran back inside to see two people in the suspended cage circling each other. I can see one of them is Kieran. There is no mistaking it. I’d recognize his body from anywhere. Even if he is in a mask, like he is right now. He was in a mask that looked like make-up. And not the removables most people were wearing. He was being extra secretive.
It was a lion painted on only half his face and the other eye. That was a good disguise, even I wouldn’t recognize his face if I saw him on the street. He was shirtless as he faced his opponent. I gasped in shock.
I take a step back and almost fall to my knees but a hand stops me from falling. I turn to see someone with a mask on.
“Easy there, Waters. You’re standing out too much.” A familiar male voice says, but I can’t pinpoint who it is exactly.
I looked around to see a few inquisitive heads turned in my direction. I school my expression.
“Who are you and how do you know that name?”
“I wouldn’t be wearing a mask if I wanted my identity known. But I’m a little hurt you do not recognize my voice .”
“Crest.” I grind out.
Ryan Crest, Kieran’s inner circle friend was here. I recognize the voice because I used to eaves drop on him, Tyler and Kieran’s conversations.
“Does he know you tailed him and are currently dressed up as a whore for all these people? For any wiling man here? Including me?” He bends down so our lips are almost touching, smirking hauntingly , trying to scare me, but I literally live with Kieran. I’ve been trained for this.
I stared back at him hard, not moving from my position. He wouldn’t kiss me. If he did, All hell would break loose and both of us would crush each other with everything we had till we had nothing.
“You’re good. No wonder you’re his girl.” He nodded in admiration.
“I’m not Kieran’s anything.”
“When did I say you were?” He quirks a brow, purely amused.
I groaned in irritation.
“You’re good. No wonder you’re his lap dog.” I said, meaning to hurt his feelings or provoke him at least, but he throws back his head and laughs like I said the funniest thing ever.
“Makes sense that you’re that Psycho’s Bestie.” I said under my breath, jerking my arm from his grip.
“I like you.” He replies.
