WHAT DO YOU THNK YOU'RE DOING HERE?
CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE
The next day I arrive early to class. It’s only because I locked myself in Kirk’s room. After my early morning class, I receive a text from Coach Torrie asking me to see her before practice. I have a fair idea what this was going to be about. I walked towards the gym, ready for whatever Kat had planned. Trying to join my team was a bold challenge on her part and I was ready to watch it unfold.
“I’m guessing you got Coach’s text too.” Chloe says from behind me, taking out my air pods.
“Oh hey there, I didn’t see you.” I say.
“Yeah, I was calling your name from a few classrooms down but this damn things were in your ears.” She huffs.
“My bad. I got Coach’s text saying to come after my first class. “
“Me too. Think it’s about that new girl’s trial?” She asks.
“Probably.” I reply.
“The offer is still on the table to sabotage her.” Chloe says in a whisper, looking around. I just shake my head.
“Don’t worry. She’s not that good.” I say. If anything she was going to embarrass herself and we’d be very much entertained. So why did I still have this bad feeling?
She was either very confident or just bluffing to ruffle my feathers. The more I doubt, the more she’s winning so I need to stop.
We enter the gym and go to Coach Torrie’s office. I knock on the door.
“Yes, come in.” She says and we go inside the room.
Coach’s office was a bit smaller compared to that of the other teachers but it was still quite nice. She had award and certificates on the wall and her desk occupied the middle of the room.
“Have a seat, girls.” She says and we do.
“So, it’s quite late, but we have a new talent joining us. She’d be doing her try outs today so I need you both to help with the assessment.”
“Talent?” I ask. What did she mean? Kat was no talent.
“There’s a new girl here. Katie Jer. She got transferred here by the proprietor himself. Apparently she’s really good at cheer, so he wants her to join the team and attend school here.” She says.
“Is he saying that she’s better than the rest of us here, because that is very disrespectful and unbelievable”. Chloe says.
“Well, I doubt it too. Hence we are holding try outs for her instead of just putting her in the team like he wanted. Kindly get changed and let us get started. She should be on her way here already. You’re dismissed.”
Chloe and I head over to the locker room. Chloe complains how unfair it was that Kat was being handed the opportunity on a silver platter but my mind was on something else coach said.
She was brought in personally by the proprietor? It has Ryan and possibly Kieran written over this.
“We need to talk.” I text Kieran as Chloe pushes open the locker room door.
“Ouch” I say, as I walk into her. She’s currently standing in the door way, staring—or rather, glaring at someone.
I look beyond her only to see Kat leaning against my locker and she’s already staring at me. Although Chloe is in front of me, she’s staring right past her and looking me in the eye.
Chloe walks up to her, grabbing her by the hair. She grabs Chloe’s back.
I don’t even have the time to take in the scene before going to stop them from tearing each other’s face open.
“What do you think you’re doing in here?” You’re not on the team.”
“Yet…” Kat replied.
“Well, you’re not going to join any day soon so get out before I ask security to toss you out like the dirt bag you are.” Chloe pulls on her hair replying.
A full fist fight was going to erupt if I continue to stay silent.
“Let each other’s hair go first and let’s just talk.”
They both ignore me, clearly too engaged in each other.
I grab Chloe’s arm first and then Kat’s next.
“Guys, let go of each other and just talk.”
Kat lets go raising her hand in a surrender and Chloe pushes her, taking off her hand as Kat stumbles into the locker. It did feel good to see the girl that used to bully me get push around by my bestie but now was not the time.
If she lost, she could easily blame us for physical harm as the reason she lost and I was not going to have that. She was one cunning girl.
Chloe goes to her locker and throws it open scanning through her items.
“Did you come in here to steal, ha, charity case? You’re not fooling anyone with that fake glitter. You’re poor and I can smell your poverty from afar. You stink with it.”
“Did you put your minion to harass me out of joining the team, Aaliyah?”
“I wish I could say yes, but you’re not worth it. And she’s not my minion. Unlike you, I have an actual real friend and not cronies who bully kids they’re jealous of. Now get out of here.”
“You sure you have real friends? You seem like the loneliest girl in Royal Crest. Everyone acts like they love you but they don’t and you know that fact deep down. Does your so called best friend even care about you for real?”
“Okay, now you’re being delusional. Whatever you’re planning does not affect our friendship. We’ve been friends longer than you’ve been a bitch. So don’t talk lame ass shit and get the fuck out before I make you.” Chloe starts advancing on her but I step in, holding her back.
Chloe was really not having this girl’s bull shit and I loved her extra for it, but as I said earlier. I do not want Chloe to touch her.
Yet
I don’t really care for her safety she was already on my shit list but it had to come with time.
