My eyes flutter open and I feel something wet on my forehead. A cooling towel
"Hey" Kieran says.
"Hey, are you okay?" I croaked out.
"What happened?"
"Luckily for us, the satellite had finally detected me because Moncar took me outside to transport me to the building. The police were able to get there in the nick of time and save you from falling to your death. Chloe and Moncar didn't surrender. They were shot to death. i watched the footage later. You fought hard for me. I'm proud of you. " I blush at his compliment as he caressed my face.
"Katie smashed your skull pretty hard. You passed out for a whole week and caught a high fever. You're getting better now. "
"But I stabbed you in the heart. Why are you taking care of me?"
"Well, you missed all the vital organs somehow. I was only treated for overdosing on sleeping drugs and given a few stitches. And who else is going to take care of my wife?"
"Ha?"
"Well, that was the only price i would accept instead of suing you ."
Someone groaned in the room and I turned to see our parents at the door.
"MoM, dad, Aunty Stella, Uncle, Kirky, Milo"
Everyone had tears in their eyes. Except Milo. He just wagged his tail in joy
"I'm sorry for making you worried guys."
"Its fine sweetie. As long as you're here," Mom says as they come closer.
"And Kieran we didn't agree on the marriage though. It was just an idea." Dad says.
"What's going on?" I asked. Kieran should be angry at me instead, not marrying me.
"Well, we are still struggling with the company and we could have a merger with the castles to improve stock prices, but there has to be a reason for the merger. If it's just done, it won't have an impact, so we have considered an engagement between you two if you both would also want that." Mom says.
"I love you Aaliyah. And I'm sorry I couldn't shield you from everything that happened. You're the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last thing I think of when I go to bed. I dream about you and long for you. I want to marry you, Aaliyah Waters. will you marry me?"

"The other option was suing you for attempted murder and marrying you in jail so your parents don't know." He whispers to me and I giggle. Kieran will always be Kieran. He slides a ring onto my finger as everyone cheers.
