When Chu Pengzhan rushed to the mansion, he saw his daughter and Xiao Shu sitting on the couch blankly, they weren't watching the television, or doing anything else, just blankly sitting there. He couldn't help but let out a sigh, "Yaoyao, what happened? You didn't explain properly earlier. Now you can tell me in more detail and we can think of a solution together."

"Daddy…" Chu Mengyao wanted to cry, but with Shu there she had to maintain her image of an elder sister. She took a deep breath, controlled her emotions and explained the whole situation to Chu Pengzhan from start to finish.

However, Lin Yi himself didn't explain everything in too much detail, so when Chu Mengyao repeated his words, Chu Pengzhan also fell into deep thought.

"Yeah," nodded Chu Mengyao, reassured by her dad's words.

Chu Mengyao almost blew up in anger, all you had to do was say "yes" and go along with it, what's with all that nonsense?

"Yaoyao, come with me for a second," Chu Pengzhan suddenly sank into deep thought, before he stood up and beckoned to his daughter.

"Oh?" Chu Mengyao paused. Whatever the matter was, couldn't they discuss it in the living room? There was only Shu in the living room, and she's not an outsider either.

However, seeing that her father was already walking towards Lin Yi's room, Chu Mengyao couldn't help but follow.

Chu Pengzhan entered Lin Yi's room. He waited for Chu Mengyao to come in before reaching out to close the door and said: "Yaoyao, sit down first."

"Oh, Daddy, what's the matter? Why are we keeping it away from Shu?" Chu Mengyao looked at her father slightly confused. She was also afraid that Xiao Shu was going to be upset because nothing was kept from her in the past.

Chen Yushu wasn't exactly unhappy, she was just a little curious. After Chu Pengzhan and Chu Mengyao went inside the room, Chen Yushu also sneaked across to the door of Lin Yi's room and listened carefully to what was happening inside.

"Yaoyao, tell Daddy the truth, do you like Lin Yi?" Chu Pengzhan looked at his daughter and asked hesitantly.

"Huh?" Chu Mengyao paused and stared stupidly at Chu Pengzhan, her face flushed immediately, "Dad, what are you saying? Why would I like Lin Yi?"

"Haha…" Chu Pengzhan looked at his daughter's and laughed instead, "then do you want Lin Yi to stay?"

"I… do!" mumbled Chu Mengyao, "but what does this have to do with me liking Lin Yi?"

"Well, there's gotta be a good reason for you wanting Lin Yi to stay?" Chu Pengzhan said with a smile, "Lin Yi is someone with guts. He's injured and can no longer fulfill his role which is why he's resigning. Think about it, if we say we'll give him a raise and let him stay in the mansion, with his personality, do you think he'll accept it?"

Chu Mengyao hesitated but slowly shook her head. Although Lin Yi could sometimes appear to be a bit thick-skinned, he seemed very principled. Therefore, it would be quite difficult for him to stay, "probably not… otherwise, he would've stayed earlier…"

"Therefore, if you want Lin Yi to stay, you'll need to have a reason," said Chu Pengzhan, " but, we don't have any connections with him so why should he stay?"

"Oh…" Chu Mengyao could kind of understand what her father meant. If Lin Yi was her boyfriend, then maybe he'll stay. The problem was, was he? He wasn't!

"In other words, if Lin Yi become a part of our family, why would he leave?" Chu Pengzhan watched his daughter's embarrassed self. He didn't really expect her to admit to anything, but as her father, Chu Pengzhan could still guess what she was thinking, "I want you to marry Lin Yi, what do you think?"

"Huh?" Chu Mengyao widened her eyes and looked at her father in disbelief. She knew from ages ago that her father's attitude towards Lin Yi was unusual. She even discussed this with Chen Yushu right after the first family dinner. At that time, Chen Yushu's response was either Uncle Chu wanted Lin Yi as his son in law or Lin Yi was his illegitimate child.

Now it seems that her father had always had this thought. Chu Mengyao was a bit shocked, did her father want her to marry Lin Yi? Was this real? Then, should she agree to this?

"I… I…" Chu Mengyao blushed for a moment, unsure of how to answer. She bashfully said "marriage is something major, how could I have a clue? I don't even have anyone I like, if daddy wants to decide for me then I'll just agree to it… he saved my life anyway so I should repay him for that."

"Haha…" Chu Pengzhan laughed. It seems that his daughter's attitude towards Lin Yi went through a drastic change, "then I'll talk with Lin Yi and see what he thinks."

"Ok…" Chu Mengyao nodded, extremely embarrassed.

However, just as the two people were talking and the atmosphere was very harmonious, someone pushed open the door of the room.
