Chapter One Hundred and twenty nine
There was an error with the previous chapter. This is the actual chapter 129. My apologies for the inconvenience.
Ariana's POV;
I pulled his hands down to my hips and kissed him hungrily but he was barely responding. I pulled back.
"Babe what's wrong?" I asked him worriedly searching his eyes.
"Work is just so demanding, I'm sorry babe."
This was the third time just this week.
"But you always make out time for us. What's tying you down now?" I needed to know because I was beginning to feel rejected and that was embarrassing.
"It's just work babe. How are your driving lessons going?" He changed the topic. I let it be. There was no point in pressing further.
"It's all good. I just wish you were my instructor, just like you promised."
Damien had been so deeply engrossed with work, he had to break his promise of teaching me how to drive by getting me a private instructor. I didn't know how to feel about it at first but later realized I was disappointed at the turn of events. I wanted us to bond even more now but he was slowly becoming distant.
It got me scared to think that he was soon going to be too busy for me. What if he didn't have my time anymore? What if...?
"Ariana, you're zoning out again." He said snapping his thumb and index finger in front of me.
"Sorry." I whispered, swallowing the lump that had formed in my throat.
"As I was saying, I wish I could be the one teaching you but you know how busy I've been. I hope you understand." He said, holding on to my shoulders.
"Hmm yeah." I nodded. He pecked my forehead in his usual manner and walked away to pick his laptop just so he could go to his study like he usually did, leaving me all alone to sleep without his arms around me until way past midnight.
I sighed. This is what I get for marrying and falling in love with a multi-billionaire.
I picked up my phone and saw that the interior decorator had sent me a picture of what she and her team had done in my absence today.
The restaurant development was going great and hopefully soon, I'd be hiring more workers. I already had a new assistant recommended by Damien. Natalie seemed like a promising young woman and was very hard-working. She took a lot of stress off my shoulders and supervised the decorators in my absence.
My only source of worry now was my husband who was MIA a lot now.
***
"We're ready to party!"
"It's not a party Fiona, it's a small intimate post baby shower. This isn't high school, little one." Jesse said rolling his eyes.
"Mom! Jesse's picking on me again."
"Oh you two better behave yourselves in front of Sky." She scolded seriously.
"What?" They both asked in unison, unable to hide their astonishment.
"Sky's a baby, mother." Fiona blankly stated.
"Yes and she's coming home for the first time, don't give her the wrong impression of this family." Mom said seriously.
I couldn't hold it any longer. I snorted, dropping the samosa I was about to put in my mouth back on the plate.
"I'm sure Sky heard and saw everything she needed to right from the womb." Jesse sassily retorted.
I shook my head and left them to bicker back and forth. I went over to the poolside to sit and wait until the party would get started. We were all actually waiting for the new parents to arrive. I wondered what was holding them up.
"Hey." I heard a husky voice from behind me.
I turned briefly to glance at him.
"Hi Damien." I chirped casually.
"Damien huh?" There was something smug about his tone.
"They're here, mum said to come get you." He announced. I turned to look behind him.
Through the glass sliding door, I spotted them at the far end of the living room where they were supposed to sit.
"Oh okay," I side stepped him to head into the house.
Damien pulled me back by my arm, startling me a little bit. He lightly kissed my lips.
"Just say you're ready." He enigmatically stated.
His words confused me greatly but I made nothing of it, promising myself I'd ponder on it later.
The party went on well and was pretty much uneventful except for the fact that Damien got an extravagant gift for his niece. A cheque of one million dollars to be dropped in an account he had created on her behalf with her parents' permission of course. Knowing Damien, he surely would be dropping an allowance there on a monthly basis. The girl would be freaking rich by the time she comes of age. He could be so sweet without even realizing it.
Anyhow, I called it a night and went in to take off my outfit so I could get ready for bed.
Strong arms soon held my hips and I sighed.
"Been a while since we cuddled, don't you think?" He words sounded in my ears as a gruff whisper.
"Well since you've been so busy with work, yes, it's been a long time since we did anything together." I said with a displeased huff and puff.
He chuckled deeply. He found it funny, how could he find it funny?
"I told you'd beg for it."
My eyes grew as wide as tennis balls.
"So all that was you trying to prove a point?" My nose flared.
"Calm down tigress." He chuckled. "You look so cute when you get angry like this."
I blankly stared at him. He sighed when he saw I wasn't having it.
"Fine,"
"I'm sorry, but ruffling your feathers like this is actually fun." He was laughing now. How dare he?
"Damien." I warned.
"I love you." He said cheekily.
"Don't patronize me." I said turning away to pick up my robe.
"I was just trying to prove that you're not the only one who gets to keep your body to yourself, I have that choice too. Now you know what it feels like to be rejected when you're horny too."
"I've never rejected you like that."
"You have without even knowing it." He countered.
His hands went into his pockets to hide his boner.
"Whenever we're making progress, you just disconnect and leave me stranded." He said.
I blinked, trying to process his words and looking for the right comeback.
"That's because I'm not ready to go all in." I said.
"And I respect that, I'm not going to rush you into anything you're not ready for." He shrugged.
"I'm just trying to tell you that it gets harder to cope with as the days go by."
I couldn't form a reply. I just stared at him for a long while before nodding in acknowledgement of what he had said.
"Good night babe." His lips briefly connected with mine before he turned to leave.
"Where are you going?"
"I need to get some work done. I'll see you in the morning." He said and left before I could say anything else.
The silence and sudden coldness of the atmosphere made me want to run after him but I had to stop myself and sit back to think things through.
Light bulb!
I picked up my phone.
"Hey Brie."
"Hey Ari, what's up?" She waved excitedly.
"Nothing much. How are you doing?"
"I'm great. It's past 9pm and you're calling me. What's up?"
"I need your help." I said unable to fight the pout that formed when I got embarrassed about something.
"I'm all ears."
"I need some er," I cleared my throat as my face heated up. "tips, sexual tips." I completed after much struggle.
"Oohhh. You're about to do some dirty stuff with hubby huh?" She wiggled her brows.
"Don't make this harder than it already is." I cringed.
"Okay okay. First things first, you have to be sure that you're ready for whatever you've planned. Then remember to shave, two to three days before action to avoid a prickly sensation when, you know,"
I nodded, noting that down in the back of my mind.
"A sexy lingerie will definitely spice things up, plus a sex appealing perfume. Let your hair down since you told me he likes that. If you want to make things special although it's not your first time, you should get some wine to set the mood but make sure you're not drunk so you can enjoy and remember every moment. Remember that foreplay is just as important as the main thing, don't skip it and don't quit until you get that orgasm." The words rolled of her tongue like she had lots of experience in this field.
"Thanks Brie. You're the best."
"You're welcome. But why are you asking me for tips? You've been married for close to a year, you're supposed to have tried everything there is already." She cast me a skeptic glance.
I let out a nervous chuckle. This was awkward.
"It's a long story Brie but thanks for the tips, I have to go now. Love you, bye."
I didn't give her the chance to say anything else before hanging up.
My stomach twisted at the thoughts that flooded my mind. How on earth was I going to pull this off?
"You can do this Ariana, you can."
