Chapter Fifty five
Ariana's POV;
I groaned as I slid down to the bathroom floor. I heard him slam the door when he left my bedroom, I did not want a fight but here we were again. I was tired.
I got out of my clothes and took a shower to calm my nerves.
I reached for my towel when I was done then I headed to my closet to pick up one of my pajamas. I put it on and headed straight for bed, my appetite was long gone so there was no dinner for me. I folded myself like a foetus and slept.

I willed myself to not look at him when he came down for breakfast and left, no one noticed since they were engrossed in their meals.
I got called by the head of my department and shortly after breakfast and was told I was given a day off, this had Damien written all over it and I knew it would have been worse if I was working at his company. I did not want him interfering with my work and I wished he would just stop it already.
We did not say anything to each other and I just knew that he was going to run away like he always did.
I headed out into the west wing of the mansion. I was going to speak to Tracy even though I knew she was most definitely going to throw me out but I had not seen her since the other night and I thought to check on her to know if she was okay.
I knocked and went into the house when Fiona called for me to come in.
"Hi mom. Hi Fiona." I said, waving at them and they waved back with warm smiles on their faces.
"Is Tracy in?" I asked pointing my left thumb towards the stairs as I did.
"Yes, I just got down her plates for breakfast. She hardly ate anything." Mom said worriedly.
"I'll go check on her, if that's okay with you." I suggested.
"Of course." She gave a go ahead without any hesitation.
"Should I come with you for moral support?" Fiona yelled after me.
"No thanks, I'm good hon." I said back to her as I climbed up the stairs.
"I hope." I said under my breath.
I knocked on her door tentatively. I heard no response even after I knocked again so I just decided to push the door open and go in.
"Tracy?" I called out slowly, searching for her in the room but she was no where in sight. I heard groaning from the bathroom and instinctively went in there and saw her hauling her guts out in toilet. I rubbed her back soothingly as she emptied her stomach's contents.
I helped her wash her pale face as she held on to me so she could steady herself. She looked like she had no energy left and I wondered how she would have coped if someone had not come in to help her out of the bathroom.
We moved towards the bed slowly, taking it one step at at time. Slowly, I got her into the bed and placed the thick blanket over her.
She was feverish, I could tell from the way she looked and how she was running a temperature. I placed a small towel in cold water, squeezed it and placed it on her head while she laid in bed with her eyes shut.
"I'll be right back." I said as I quickly left the room to go get her an energy drink.
"Mom? Fiona?" I saw them both seated in the kitchen chatting about something.
"I need an energy drink for Tracy." I said hurriedly.
"Is there something wrong?"
"She's been throwing up and now there's no energy left in her. Let's get something that would not affect the baby." I said to Fiona who went to search the fridge.
"Mom do we have ingredients for soup?" I asked as an idea popped into my head.
"Not really, just head to the kitchen in the main house." She said. I nodded and went out quickly.
"Hi Lorenzo." I said hurriedly as I walked to the fridge and got out the ingredients for my soup.
"Hello Mrs Kingston. What brings you here?" Lorenzo asked in surprise, as he chopped on some vegetables for the meal he was prepared.
"I need to make some soup for Tracy." I responded, running my eyes all over the insides of the large freezer.
"Ma'am Tracy?" He questioned further.
"Yes, she's not well and I want to make something for her." I said while washing my hands after placing my ingredients on the table.
"Don't worry about it, I'll cook it." He offered but I declined. I could not let him leave whatever he was doing to deal with mine.
"No it's my father's recipe and it works just like magic." I said as I got down to work.
I reached for an apron and wrapped my hair up then washed my hands again before getting back to work.
Lorenzo kept me company while I did my thing. Ma Rosa came in and started questioning Lorenzo about letting me cook. It was them I realized that Lorenzo did not let anyone else cook in his kitchen except me which was absolutely surprising.
"I feel like you understand my work ethics, Mrs Kingston." He said when I inquired about the fact that he let me handle the kitchen and not anyone else.
"My best friend is a chef, so I guess I picked up a few lessons from him." I said smiling a little as I reminisced on those chef moments with Nolan, his meals were masterpieces, just like Lorenzo's. I missed our bond but I just had to let him be.
"I'd love to meet him sometime." Lorenzo said eagerly.
I chuckled nervously, cause I did not think it would ever be possible but fingers crossed they would meet.
Thirty minutes in, my chicken soup was ready. I served a reasonable quantity in a bowl and placed it in a tray. I covered it up and placed it aside while I took off my apron.
I was soon heading up to Tracy's room. There, I saw that Fiona was still trying to get her to finish up her drink.
I placed the tray next to her on the nightstand. I removed the cover and the scent filled the air.
"Oh wow, that smells so good." Fiona said with a man. I chuckled. I picked it up and tried placing the tray on Tracy's thighs.
"What is this?" She asked weakly.
"It's chicken soup for you, it'll help you feel better." I said, holding up the tray until Fiona placed a small bed tray table above Tracy's thighs. I placed the bowl of soup along with the spoon and napkin on it.
"You made if yourself?" Fiona asked and I nodded.
"Yeah I did."
"Aw you're so sweet." Fiona squeaked, I laughed.
"I don't think I can take this." We heard Tracy faintly say and we turned to her immediately.
"And why not? Oh Tracy don't you even dare given me a dumb ass excuse. She went out of her way and made this for you even when she did not have to, so you had better put your pride aside and take it right now." Fiona said firmly, glaring at her older sister while she did.
Tracy sat still staring at the bowl in front of her for a short while before picking up the spoon and scooped a small quantity into it. She started eating and I felt it was best to leave her with Fiona to avoid anymore awkwardness.
I exited the room to let her eat and allow the awkward air dissipate. I walked the distance to my room and climbed into my bed.
I reached for my laptop and surfed through some work emails as I sipped on some juice that I had brought up with me. My mails were so much and I did not understand how and why people kept mailing me to come be ambassadors for their brands and even when these people saw that I had not replied their mails they just kept sending. It was frustrating.
I drank some more juice as I deleted more and more emails, I shook my head with a tsk and a sigh at how people wanted to bank on any given opportunity. I wanted a lowkey life but these people did not know that and from the looks of things, even if they knew, they would not let me be.
I picked up my phone and saw excerpts from our interview with Eva the previous week. As expected, the media kept on with posting Damien's statement concerning the rumor that had sent the media into a frenzy. I read through some comments and reactions from all over the place. Some people believed it was actually a sham whilst the shippers kept on with their chants of victory, some others believed that we would be divorced in no time and they were right.
I closed the app and shut my laptop. I wanted to take a walk to clear my head especially because I was bored.
I sort of needed company but I settled for taking a stroll instead. I picked out a nice outfit for a cool day, walked out of the room and made my way down the stairs.
I wished I had a dog so I could walk him or her but I wasn't so sure if Damien would be okay with having a pet. I had not seen any in the house when I moved in, so I assumed he was not an animal person.
Miguel was soon by my side and was calling on the driver.
"No, I just want to take a stroll." I said to him.
"Alone." I added emphatically but he shook his head in disagreement.
"He would kill me if he found out that I left you alone." He stated looking terrified actually.
"Ugh fine." I sighed defeatedly. Damien was capable of firing the man even if it was not his fault so I just had to go with it
I walked out through the gates and he stayed at a distance behind me.
I did not know where I was going but I knew I was going to have a fun filled day.
