Accusation

Clara watched the shrewd and capable woman walk into Xavier's study and walked out with some documents in her hands. As she was stepping down the stairs, Mrs Leah was waiting for her, all smiles, with a cup of tea in hand.

" Ms Judith, here's your favorite warm longjin tea " she said, smiling at the woman.

This was the first time Clara had seen Mrs Leah smiling.

She immediately regretted not leaving the house earlier than before. She watched Ms Judith collect the cup from Mrs Leah, she drained the tea and returned an empty cup to her.

" The tea made by auntie is always the best, I will drop by often just to have a cup." she said.

" Ms Judith is always welcome" Ms Leah replied, retrieving the cup from her.

Sitting just a few miles away from them, Clara witnessed both of them interacting casually, ignoring her presence.

Judith walked past Clara but stopped after taking a few steps away from where she was sitting.

" Oh!!, Madam, I was unable to introduce myself because of the circumstances we met before Judith is the name." she said, her hand outstretched with a big smile on her face.

"I'm Clara, but I prefer you call me Mrs Rey" Clara retorted, standing up. The other party was being polite. Anyway, she saw no reason why she should be rude towards her instead.

" I dare not call you by name." she immediately withdrew her hand.

This was her uncle's most trusted secretary.

Clara smiled back at her , the woman was smiling without any sigh of guilt.

" What does Madam love doing? Going shopping, going on vacation, playing with friends, makeup, going to the movies, I meet with a lot of wealthy women in such places. "she suddenly said with a strong hint of sarcasm.

Clara was not that stupid, so she understood what this lady was hinting at.

She was saying that Clara was like a caged bird who was not allowed to go out with friends and have fun like those young ladies from a noble family would do , but instead of giving the pressure of seeing her sad, she smiled instead.

" I don't do all that, since I've always been different from others. I opened a little restaurant with my friend at the heart of the city. You can visit us anything, you feel bored. "

" Opened a restaurant? She sounds surprised to hear that, but is that okay? What will happen if those paparazzies find out? Even if you don't care about your husband' s reputation, you should think about the company's as the lady boss, other wealthy wives,has their own clothing brand, publishing company, shopping malls and hotels, just name it. "

" He didn't say anything about it so I saw nothing wrong with it ," she replied matter of factly, she was actually taken aback by her outburst just now.

She watched her walk out of the house furiously.

Immediately, she hopped into the car and Tony drove off.

"Judith, you should stop provoking the madam before the boss finds out, he will be mad at you and she may even report you to her uncle." Tony was worried about her, so he advised her.

" If she can't stand such a small provocation from me about how she is fit to be our lady boss, the organization needs someone to stand by the boss not drag him down. And I'm not even worried about her reporting to her uncle, I trust that the boss won't allow anything to happen to me. " she replied confidently.

" Judith, do you...?, like the boss. Tony's grip on the steering tightened , but he didn't finish his sentence , as he watched the lady beside him from the rearview mirror.

Xavier adopted both of them from a young age and they started serving him immediately. They finished their studies , but he assigned Judith as a spy working beside the CEO of Davis Enterprise, so both of them have to part ways. He had no choice but to hide his feelings for her, but he noticed that she seemed to have developed some intimate feelings for the boss which shouldn't be. If the boss should find out she will be in trouble , she may even be removed from the organization .

Meanwhile, Clara was about to leave for work when Ryan called saying he wanted to meet up with her and he sounded very urgent. It seemed something had happened.

She quickly asked the driver to drop her off at the address he sent to her. She was very tense.

Immediately she arrived at the restaurant close to her family's house, she sight her uncle sitting in a corner. She walked up to him.

They both ordered a cup of coffee, " Clara, have you contacted the number I gave you ? " He asked, sipping on his coffee.

" Not yet " she lied. In reality, she had input the number many times but couldn't find the courage to call. She was scared that the beautiful memories she had of them would be destroyed if she did so. She thought it was better to keep those memories and she also saw no need to ,since she was living very well now.

" Clara, I need to tell you something very important that the family has been hiding from you," he sounded very serious, so that Clara couldn't help but worry.

" Something happened to your second uncle. A riot broke out in South Africa and we got information that had been missing from work for a long time. I've already sent men to look for him but we have yet to receive any news from them. We tried calling my aunt only to discover that she was now married to a black man and was no longer connected to him. "

As he narrated all this Clara could feel that there was more to all this and he was trying to hide something very important from her, although she was surprised by all this and what even bothered her the most was the fact that her aunty left her uncle.

" Why will aunty suddenly do that ? What about Danelle? What will happen to her ? She was mumbling to herself but Ryan could clearly hear her. He sighed and mouthed " it's a long story "

" Hmm. What do you mean by that, uncle ?"

" Brother discovered that the person he thought was his daughter, was not. " Ryan let out the cat. Since things had come to this, he wouldn't hold back any information he had about the family from her again, never.

" What ?" Clara was dumbstruck.

" Yes, both of them had a fight before all this happened and I also discovered that you are actually... "He trailed off. He was not sure if he should say this.. he also just got to know about this fact "

"What was I ?" She noticed how tensed he had suddenly become.

He took out a white Hanki and cleaned his face. " Adam was your biological father, your father was actually not from our family , he was adopted."

" .. ... "

how was she supposed to take all this in? How did things turn out this way?

"No....no.... You must be lying to me, all of you are all liars. Haven't you all done enough already ? Must I go crazy before you all stop haunting me?"

How was she supposed to believe him? She had been lied to all her life. She picked up her bag and left the restaurant in a hurry. She would never believe all of this. Even if her parents said it, she still wouldn't. They would always be her parents.

Ryan wanted to go after her but his phone suddenly rang, so he reached out to answer the call.

" What! Really ? Okay, I am coming, just don't let the snake notice, I am on my way now " his voice was filled with urgency.

As he hurriedly left the restaurant, but unknown to the man and woman at the far end of the restaurant, a pair of cold eyes were carefully scrutinizing them.

Clara had patiently waited for two days but she still had no news about her father,no uncle. She is already restless and running out of patience.

But to Xavier, who was lying beside her, all her actions meant that she was hiding something from him.

" What is it ? He gently inquired, but Clara was speechless as she pondered whether to tell him or not.

He waited for her to say something but she remained silent , she tightened her. She is on the quiet. He noticed her actions and concluded that she didn't want to talk about it. He got up from bed and headed to the bathroom. He turned to the woman lying on the bed, then warned her coldly.

" Next time I don't want to see you absent-minded again ".

Clara felt so down she couldn't help but wonder if he would help send someone to look for her father.

But he hated his family. How can he send someone to help them? Then she dropped that idea and waited for him to come out of the bathroom, but when he finally did , he didn't return to her side. Instead, he rushed out of the room without a word to her. She watched him leave and she decided to talk to him about it tomorrow after all. There's no harm in trying.

" I have a bad feeling about this. Leave whatever you are doing right now and vacate that place immediately, Judith! " in his study, Xavier ordered Judith on the phone.

" No boss is almost through with the documents. After copying these, we will be able to take them down, all the information needed about the Davis New products is all in our hands. If I leave now, we won't be able to get this opportunity again, boss. ". Judith strongly refused to obey him this time as she was busy.

late in the night at the office of the president of Davis ENT, sounds of typing could be heard on her end of the phone.

BANG!!

Xavier angrily slammed his hand on the desk. " Judith, something will happen, I have a bad feeling. Get back here right now! Is it an order ?" .

Tony was about to get some rest when he got this order from the boss. He became restless. The boss sounded furious and anxious about something so must have happened to Judith that he quickly mobilized his men and they drove to the company.

But on getting there, he saw a lot of police vans parked in the garage. His hands tightened on the steering and his heartbeat intensified. He quickly dialed Judith's number. Luckily it went through but.

" Looking for Judith? Ha ha ha , if you have anything to discuss with her you can visit her at the police station tomorrow morning " Ryan immediately disconnected the call after saying this..

Tony was greatly angered but he really didn't have anything to do now , he was too late. The police were already involved in this.

He made to drive back but the few figures coming out of the company made him stop. Judith was being taken to the police vehicle like a criminal. She seemed to notice him and smiled at him that telling him not to worry about her, seeing that his heart broke into a thousand pieces that he couldn't breathe because of the pain.

For the first time, Clara arrived at the dining before him. She was ready to talk to him, shortly after he came down to join her, but she was quick to notice the dark circles around his eyes as if he hadn't slept a wink last night.

" Didn't you get enough sleep last night? " she gently asked with care, but he shut her a cold glance.

She was taken aback. She had never seen that look for a long time now.

Before long, the maids set up the table before them.

She decided to speak at this that

" I want to tell you something " ..

" No need, I gave you enough time to talk last night but you didn't " he retorted coldly.

" I was thinking about it. "Why is he like this? Was it because she was distracted when they were making out last night?

" Talk later? How are you like this? You live with my boss,eat his food, touch his things and he has been nice to you, but you betrayed him again and again. Judith just had a little misunderstanding with you and you ran to your uncle and informed him about her," he yelled angrily as he pushed her carelessly away from him.

Because of this, Clara hit her stomach on the edge of the table and she immediately screamed in pain. She felt a slight but heart twisting pain below her stomach. She endured it and gently stood up, but she couldn't stand straight as she finally understood what Xavier had been hinting at ,so he had been suspicious of her for a long time now, but what she didn't understand was why he didn't say anything.

" Of course it means nothing to you, it's never your business, right ?" Tony continued. When he saw that, there was no guilt in her eyes. He really underestimated this woman before him..

" You believe I did it ?" Why am I being stupid? Of course they believe I did it.

For a woman, he married her and used her as his plaything, and now, for another woman, he watched his subordinate hit her. She looked at him for a while and smiled, then she slowly walked out, but no one noticed the tears slowly dropping from her eyes.

Xavier watched her leave but he noticed that she was not walking straight, but the cold look in his eyes still remained as he took the hand towel from the maid standing beside him and dried up his hands.

" Boss am sorry just now I lost control of..."

" Now that you have to vent , go back to work, find someone to take the blame and bill Judith out. "

" I don't think it will work, President Ryan must have thought about it. Even if it worked, Judith would still be charged", he explained.
