Rey and Davis Enterprise continue going head-on with each other ,

Clara was already familiar with her work at the office; she could even attend a meeting on behalf of the CEO.

No matter how busy she still noticed Xavier's change in behavior, the dude hardly take his eyes off her of recent , his eyes were always smiling at her tenderly unlike the chilling glare he was always throwing at her , he was even picking food for her, before she would reach out for something he's already bringing it for her, she finds his behavior to very strange .

This morning they were having breakfast when Judith ran in smiling like a kid, she whispered something to his ears while smiling . Immediately whatever news it was, he jumped out of his seat in shock, running outside without even a word to her, anyway he never cared to tell her his whereabouts .

Judith trailed behind him, like a lost puppy, but not forgetting to throw her a provoking glare before dancing out humming a song happily.

Clara could only sit still and watch them disappear from her sight with a bitter smile, she doesn't need a conjurer to tell her what news it was, seeing how happy he was on receiving the news Judith must have helped him find Glory , his Lilac is obviously back, what next now ?.

At the hospital .

She took a half day off from work because she has an appointment with her doctor, her first check up , she was nervous at first because she came alone but recalling that she had to take care of her child alone without depending on anyone, she suddenly got the courage she needed and went into the doctor's office when it was her turn...

After sometime she came out smiling while touching her stomach. The doctor said her baby is growing very healthy but she should stop being too worked up and on edge since the mothers emotions have a great impact on the baby's..

She was very excited , when she looked at other mothers with big stomachs she pictured herself being like them very soon .

A familiar figure walked out of another doctor's office touching her flat stomach with a lovely smile. That person was so familiar to her because even this morning she was thinking about her.

" Glory's pregnant too.? " Clara's heartbeat intensified, what's happening?, how and when did it happen?, before she could gather her thoughts she found herself trailing her best friend as if she was in a trance.

The both of them went into different elevators ,through the glass Clara's eyes never left the smiling woman who was immersed in her own world to notice what was going on around her .

Clara felt her heart shattering into pieces, it was as if someone was pulling out her heart, her legs weakened as hot liquid started rolling down her cheeks, as she started visualizing different images of her husband and best friend in the same bed.

Before now she was thinking it would be easy to walk out of this relationship without looking if he should finally divorce her ,but it turned out she was only lying to herself, she won't be able to endure it even imagining it was enough to make her want to die .

She saw Glory to be such a person she never knew she would one day witness such a scene, they should have at least considered her feelings right?She was also a human with emotions and feelings.

On getting to the garage, a car drove straight towards Glory stopping right in front of her.

Clara stood rooted on a spot, her feet refusing to make another move, her eyes focused on the car's plate number, which was surprisingly familiar .

Running out of the car Xavier engraved Glory in a big embrace spinning her around while she giggled loudly like a kid, he dropped her bent over and started planting kisses on her stomach ,he appeared to be a different person, pride was writing all over his handsome face .

Clara felt betrayed she couldn't believe her eyes, she suddenly felt her head spinning she staggered backward looking for somewhere to rest her weak body, the shock was too much for her to bare, she slowly slide down behind a pillar she sat on the Cold floor, watching him carry her to the car as they drove off.

" He is the father of her baby." She lamented her hand flew to her mouth muffling her cry

" Clara" she heard someone call her name, her head snapped towards the direction, she was stunned to see Alex just a few steps away from her.

She didn't say anything, she couldn't even breathe, not to mention finding her own voice. All she wanted was to run away from everything and everyone. She stood up staggering as she started walking, totally ignoring the man who was running after her.

" Clara, I also witnessed what happened just now." Alex said but immediately regretted his choice of words.

" So? " She snapped at him like a wounded tigress.

" Were your eyes not for seeing?,or do you want to brag about it in front of me?If that's the case then you can start now and see if I care." She growled.

She already has a lot of people doing just that, an additional one was nothing but an increase in number, she was so furious and if this person is looking for trouble she's very ready to give him double of it!

Instead of trying to explain himself, Alex pulled her into his arms, she struggled to free herself hitting his chest but he remained unfreezed until she melted in his arms.

" Cry, Clara don't try to be strong in front of me, if you cry you get a little better." He whispered to her.

She cried her heart out on his chest.

" Alex, I'm also human right?They should have considered my feelings right?I trust Glory, she was like a big sister to me but now she's pregnant... pregnant for my husband, why did Xavier do this to me?, because I'm a Davis and the only tool he could lay his hands to get his revenge, but Alex I don't deserve this, I also hate my family because of the way they treated me when I thought I would finally be happy Xavier appeared and snatch my life away from me,he made me fall for him only for him to smash my heart into pieces, I hate them, I hate every one I want them all gone all of them!" She cried, messing up his expensive suit with her tears but the man didn't care. Instead he was wallowing in self blame,he was feeling very useless, blaming himself for coming late and making suffer this way.

Right there, he made a decision to be responsible for her happiness from then onwards, as a psychologist he admired her because he knew how much mental strength she needed to face a world filled with betrayers and Heartless people but she overcame all this .

She was the strongest woman he has ever come across, no matter what she turns into he would always be there with her because she has gone through a lot. What she needs now is someone to love and cherish her.

They stood there for what seemed like forever, before she finally pulled away,"Thank you Alex , I'm fine now,geez see how I mess your clothes I'm really sorry. " Clara apologized even when Alex told her not to worry she was still apologizing.

" Where are you heading to, allow me to drop you off ." He offered with pleading eyes, afraid to leave her all by herself even for a minute.

" No need, I'm actually fine but..hm..., why are you at the hospital to begin with? " she suddenly remembered where they were and asked .

" Oh, I happened to be a special guest on a program that took place here. " he lied breathlessly, when in reality he couldn't sleep all night tossing and turning in his bed, since Ryan called to inform him that she an appointment with a doctor today, he ran down thinking she was coming for an abortion but on witnessing the smile on her face when she emerge from the doctor's office no mother could be as happy as she was at that moment , before those idiots have to show up and ruin everything for him .

Remembering Jennifer's words about Alex being an expert in cardiology, Clara didn't give it more thought and believed him.

" How is your health lately ? " He asked concern just like any caring husband would, exactly the way her husband was looking at her best friend a moment ago .

" Shouldn't you be asking why I visited a gynecologist? ", she said, smiling at him .

" Huh? " he stuttered awkwardly, smiling .

" She told you right? " She smiled softly at his reaction. She was already suspecting this when he suddenly showed up at her work place asking her different questions .

" Yes she did, " he admitted awkwardly after a short silence " Clara I'm sorry I..."

" There's nothing to be sorry about." Politely cutting him off, everything happened because of so she couldn't blame it on him .

He was pleased that she didn't find fault in him this time. Maybe if this continues he could continue taking care of her openly.

" Since you are already aware I would like to ask you a question which has been bothering me."

" Feel free to,we don't have any audience or you want to go somewhere else?. " he whispered .

Looking around them, Clara felt reluctant to speak even though the people walking past them were focused on their own business, she was scared of being overheard by them, so she leaned closer whispering to him.

" Will my condition affect my child?

BOOM!!

Alex's face turned pale the moment he heard her question, he was so happy about her pregnancy that the possibility of her health affecting the baby never occurred to him .

" It's possible right? " She staggered backward with a grim expression answering her question herself .

" Clara , we aren't certain yet since something like that has not been recorded in any medical books , but I can see you are getting better. They haven't appeared for a long time now, so you don't have to worry, you need to be emotionally strong please,at least for your baby. " Alex urged, seeing that she was trembling in fright , he continuously robbed her shoulder trying to calm her down, "take a deep breath Clara," he advised and she immediately took three deep breaths.

Satisfied that she was finally calm he let her go with a heavy heart ,how can his heart not ache when she was carrying his baby? .

" I'll work hard to make them disappear , I don't want to give up on this child, please help me , help me Dr Qin, you can do something about this right?. " she grabbed his clothes begging him with tears gushing out .

" Clara, have always been here by your side, I won't go anywhere, I will always be with you forever. " He vowed, hugging her tightly. She may look fragile but she still remains the strongest woman he has ever met. A woman who refused to bow her head when facing her cruel fate, he hoped to be her sky and wished to be by her side throughout his life .

" Xavier, I remember asking you to stay at home? " Glory asked the man who was smiling happily beside her inside the car .

" See who's talking you ask me to make the arrangement yet you went alone without informing me making me worried and rushing out to look for you. Xavier replied pretending to be displeased with her.

Yes his Lilac was back , his men found her at the seaside Villa two days ago , although she didn't say where she was coming from but he was more pleased she finally decided to come back to him which was what really matters .

" Xavier, how are you and Clara doing? " she asks, staring at her stomach.

" Lilac don't be sad, I will take care of it. " he worriedly held her cold hands, his eyes filled with resolution. Instead of answering her, he was more concerned about her and her baby .

" How can you take care of us when you know nothing about the father ? " She always forgets she's almost thirty when she's around this man. She was always smiling and acting strong, forgetting that she could ask anything from him, and he would gladly grant her request, no matter what it was .

" Who cares, all I know is that you need a father for the baby and I'm happy and willing to be the one. " Xavier volunteered with a big smile .

Glory was so touched that she threw herself into his arms with teary eyes,yet a creepy smile curved up on her lips but the man was busy petting her to notice this change .

After parting with Alex , Clara chose to resume work although she took a day off but after what she witnessed at the hospital today, she felt that the last place she wished to be was that house, so she came to bury herself with work until she feels exhausted. When she walked out of the company after work a car drove carelessly coming at her,he felt her heart jumped in her mouth, as she remained rooted on a spot fortunately the driver stopped right in front of her.

" Boss wants to see you! "
