He walked to the woman who was still shivering uncontrollably " why did you say you dialed a long number ?" He grumbled displeased,If he had arrived a second later that fist would have sent her to her early dismissal.

Clara stared blankly at the figure, she thought she was hallucinating, but his hand remained stretched out in front of her and that voice,it sounded too real to be a dream.

Seeing that she was only staring at him, Xavier bent over and gently pulled her up with his hands on both sides of her shoulder. She was overwhelmed with joy when she felt his warm hand on her, she was grateful that he came to save her even when he never asked , she so badly wanted to run into his arms and cry out her heart.

So that he will cuddle her like a child but instead of doing that , she clenched her fist tightly while biting her tongue. The painful impact helped distract her emotions , but she desperately needed someone to hold her in their arms and tell her everything was fine, but not him.

" Well it's good you showed up tonight because we seriously need to talk about the baby's monthly allowance after the divorce." It was Adam who broke the awkward moment with his statement, without waiting for a response he waltzed out of the little bathroom to the sitting area, leaving the perplexed man to digest the heavy storm stuffed into his mouth.

" Did he hit you because you don't want to talk about divorce ?" He ask livid Pointing at the direction the man disappeared into, she remain silent, her eyes dancing around the room trying very hard to avoid any contact with his, her silence didn't go well with him as irritation flickered in his eyes, clenching his fist he slammed it just five inches away from her face straight to the wall, " Answer me Clara !!." He thundered startlingly, " sorry " he quickly mumbled an apology seeing how shaken she was. On the other hand Clara could tell that once he called her name that way he isn't giving her a chance to remain silent, she has to say something, but what is she supposed to say, tell him about her baby?, never, she has to protect her child from them.

" It's nothing president Rey, so sorry you had to witness such a scene tonight but everything is settled now so you can take your leave please, there's absolutely nothing to talk about, please I'm very exhausted and need to get some sleep." His expression turned unsightly after hearing words, his gaze remained fixed on her face until she briskly walked past him heading to the sitting.

" And why are you still here?Don't you know when you have overstayed your welcome?,leave my house this instant! ." She yelled aggravated while pointing at the door, her eyes digging a hole on the relaxed face of her father.

" Why the rush?Since my son-in-law is here, we can at least talk about my grandchild. '' he replied with a cynical smile elegantly crossing his short legs.

As that was not irksome enough, on coming out, instead of taking his leave as he was asked to, Xavier went straight to the couch opposite Adam's and sat down, his eyes fixed on the man's little frame.

Adam gulped nervously, uncomfortable with the scrutinizing gaze he was receiving, silence ensured around the room,as Clara's ablaze gaze moved from one man to the other, but the too people responsible for her distress were trapped in their own world, she just wants to scream at their face,or even dragged them out of her house, but she was not their match in any way.

" What do you mean by talking about child allowance. " Xavier asked sternly, titted his head to take a glimpse of the woman's face before shifting his attention back to the man. Stomping her feet on the ground, Clara flicked her hair with irritation in her eyes," I told you there's nothing to talk about here, just why are you two not leaving?, just the sight of you two is suffocating that I might die in the next moment!. " she was determined to hide it from him but this stupid father of hers won't keep mute .

" You stupid woman!How long do you think you can keep the news from him, until the baby is born or when he's able to say"daddy "? " Adam reprimanded, feigning a caring tone, that made Clara's stomach to coil.

" Son-in-law Please forgive her ,she doesn't want the child to be a burden to you after the divorce." He sounds like a loving father.

" You are pregnant ? '' Clara saw the Surprise in his eyes but it immediately disappeared as if it never appeared, he leaned back at his seat with an indifferent look on his face, silence once again took domain in their midst. " When did you become pregnant? " he finally spoke up but this time Clara wished he had remained quiet because of the distrustful look he had on. She felt her heart pierced with sharp edges of pain and unfathomable hatred.

Fine he asked a question but what with the look he was giving her, she wanted to curse at him and let him know that, she almost lost her baby the day he allowed his subordinate to raise his hand on her, she so badly want to remind him that the good news she wanted to share with her best friend was the news of her baby but it's was the day her best friend found her childhood lover and he choose his childhood lover over them , but she just stood there because deep down she knows it won't change anything between them the air became very hot for her even though she was standing under the ceiling fan, her hand flew to her neck, she rubbed it furiously as if it will help remove the lump there, her face turned pale as she struggled to breath.

"Are you okay?" She heard him ask, when she looked up he was already standing in front of her with a worried expression,she took a step back retracting her hand from his. " This has nothing to do with you, please leave now " she said with a pleading tone. After her statement the atmosphere turned depressing.

" It seems you like me repeating myself or have you forgotten what I look like when I am angry? " The way his eyes narrowed down on her, got Clara trembling in and out , like someone who just ran into a pack of wolves, but at this moment someone ran into the room.

" Clara!, are you okay?!" He asked breathlessly, on hearing that voice Clara without thinking,ran into the person's arms, she buried her face on his chest, like a heavy storm all the emotions she bottled up, started pulling down.

Alexander's arms around her waist tightened as he pressed her against his chest protectively, whispering consoling words to her hearing. But instead of calming down the trembling of her shoulders escalated, he could tell how badly she was hurting, inwardly he cursed himself for coming late even though he left immediately Ryan informed him he still ended up getting to her late.

He directed an angry glare at the people in the room,her father's ugly face zooming into his view, he snarled at the vicious wolf wondering why he was here in such an ungodly hour.

It was at that moment he felt a heated gaze on him ,when he raised her head, his eyes met with Xavier's. Since Xavier was still standing at the same spot Clara was standing earlier, Alex did not take note of his presence, but now that he saw him and recalling how Clara ran Into his arms in this person's presence, Alex felt his heart swell with pride and he crooked his head and placed a kiss on Clara's head while caressing her hair, his lips coiled up into a triumphant smile, ignoring the murderous intention dancing in his friends eyes.

" Clara, did something happen?Why are these people here?, why are you not in bed?You know how badly you need rest especially at the stage you are in. I told you not to stress yourself , look at what says the time and you are still awake." His tender voice sandwiched with care and concern reverberated around the quiet room.

He purposely ignored the presence of the other people, putting on acts for a certain someone. He only exhaled in relief when he was sure she didn't sustain an injury.

But a certain someone could no longer fathom his public display of affection, with a stoic face he said

" Jeez! Dr Qin, haven't you had enough?, touching my wife wherever you please in my presence." His voice showed that he could no longer contain his anger .

Alex,on hearing this, quickly pulled Clara behind him, now standing in front of Xavier.

" President Rey, if I am not mistaken you two are about to divorce. " He pointed out with a smug smile.

" Bastard!, the fact still remains that she's still my wife, and sorry to disappoint you we will not be divorcing anytime soon. " Xavier retorted with a sinister smirk, glaring at the man standing between him and his wife with his hand still entwined with Clara's.

' if I don't break that hand this idiot won't know where to place his dirty hand. ' he hissed inwardly staring down at their firmly entangled hand than at Clara's pale face.

' What did he mean by anytime soon?, Did he plan to take responsibility for the child until I put to birth then he will separate us, if that's the case.Won't it be better to die with it?,'

She has seen and read something like that in dramas and books, situations where some men will separate babies from their mothers, especially when Glory is also pregnant, she can easily act like a mother to both her child and theirs .

'If he takes away my right to be a mother, I will be left with nothing. This baby is the only reason why I'm still breathing, what will become of me when he's gone.' Her face became even paler after considering this possibility, so blunt out the first idea that came to her mind, the moment she opened her mouth to speak.

"I told you from the start that it has nothing to do with you, president Rey?My child isn't yours." she said firmly, grabbing Alex's hand, again.

" What?!, Are you admitting that you betrayed me with my friend?." Her statement came as a shock to Xavier,he never imagined that she would be bold enough to admit something like that .

" No, you mistaken Xavier, you know she isn't someone like that, this was the result of what happened that night when we were drugged. " Alex feels that he has to step in and clear her name, but Clara isn't done yet. She just wanted to end things with him tonight and she doesn't care how she does that.

" So what if I did, huh?As a married man you can sleep around,why can't I?" She asked, throwing her hand in the air to portray her words while forcing herself to meet and hold his cold gaze.

" Stupid b****ch!" Adam, who had been pushed into the background by the duo, yelled angrily out of the blue. He never expected his stupid daughter to ruin his plan like this, and who the heck is this rascal?.

Judith, who had been quietly observing the scene, sneered at Clara from the place she was standing. ' This woman has a death wish, doesn't she know that when the boss is angry he can do anything, when he's angry and remains quiet, what will come out of his mouth will be a thunderstorm.'

" Do away with that thing! "Those frightful words rolled out of his mouth so casually like he was making an order at a restaurant. It took some time before Clara finally registered his words and the meaning got her so languid that she staggered backward, fortunately Alex was quick to stabilize her ,before she fell down .

" Xavier don't you think you are overreacting, another woman is already carrying your child and you are taking care of her in your matrimonial home, what gave you the right to proclaim the death of my child when I'm still alive?!"Alex felt like hitting his face until he comes back to he's Sense, how can Xavier be so self centered?.

"I'm not done with my wife!Alexander Qin , don't think you are afraid, you know that I can destroy your career with just a few words, and in just a minute a minute I can bring the Qin family to nothing." he threatened him .

"So what?, you can go ahead and do whatever you want with my family, since you have the power, just know that your threat won't make me abandon my child and it's mother!, Haven't she tried enough, for your selfish reason you married her, use every means you can come up with to make wife miserable for her. What more do you want from her?Can't she be happy for once!Xavier! "

Alex could tell that Xavier wasn't just buffing, he knows him, more than he knows himself, Xavier has that power to do whatever he wants to he's family, but he can't sacrifice Clara and their baby because of a single threat , he will start from the bottom,if not be, as long as she can stay safely by his side.

Clara was so moved by his words, that tears started dripping from her orbs. But no, she can't allow anything to happen to Alex and his family, this was her battle to fight and she has to come out unshattered with her baby. She slightly raised her teary chin and sneered at him, " What right do you have?, to open that mouth of yours and decide what I will do with my baby?. "

" What baby right do I have ?" He repeated her question sternly before he let out a wry laugh then scoff. " You are carrying them. Sheer proves that I Xavier Reynold has been cuckold by my wife, right under my nose , and you still have the guts to defy me. You will have to abort it , if you don't want the Qin family to disappear from this country, you have just three days to make up your mind." That being said he waltzed across the room without a care for the world but her next statement made him stop on his track.

" In your eyes didn't I deserve even a little sympathy from you?." How could he be so heartless and cruel towards her?, When they shared a bed for almost a year, how can his heart be so still when he talks to her, when they had something?Does this mean that the good times they had meant nothing to him?Her baby is innocent and she needs to bring it to life, if kneeling and crawling towards him is what will make him reconsider then she will have to throw away her pride and beg him for the sake of their baby. All she wants out of this marriage is the baby.

He finally turned towards her ," you want my sympathy and pity, huh? " This time he was really smiling sinisterly like the devil's elder brother. Without uttering another word he turned around again to leave but Clara wasn't ready to let him go until he at least let her keep the baby. Alex hated himself for being so powerless that he couldn't guarantee her safety. If only he could, he would protect her from this man.

It all happened so fast that even Alex who was standing beside her didn't notice when she moved, before Xavier could react

The gun that was under his shirt was now in her hand and the little woman was now standing before him with a gun pointed at her own head . A terrifying scream escaped their lungs " Clara!! "Her action indeed caught them by surprise, even Xavier's stoic face got broken as sheer horror surged through his veins.

She lived under the same roof and share the same bed with him for almost a year, so she knows very well that he carried a gun around, even though he was surrounded by armed men who are ready to give their lives for him, this man still feels insecure whenever he is out and with what happened tonight he would be a bastard if he didn't come along with it.

" You had better start talking, promise to leave the Qin family and let me keep my baby, if not I'll pull the trigger."

" Clara don…"

" don't come close to me Alex, I'm very serious. I will pull the trigger if you move another inch!" she ordered coldly, not even sparing him a glance .

" Crazy woman better drop that gun before I dig a hole between your brows!" Judith threatened, pointing her gun at the woman.

Xavier's face is gruesome,seeing how foolish Judith could be.

A cynical smile curled up on her lips,as she turned to Judith, " as always your tongue acted quickly than your brain, do I look like someone who is scared of death?, Don't be too cocky!, right now I've lost everything so instead of losing my baby I will rather die with it right before his eyes and let see how you will enjoy the qualm after we're gone." On looking at Judith's hand Clara realized she wasn't holding the gun properly, so she copied her stance.

" Stupid woman!" Judith cursed, crooking the gun, her action didn't escape Clara's eyes as she immediately followed suit, Alex and Xavier watched in horror as the woman continued her madness.

" Shit!Get a brain will you!" Xavier cursed sending a flying kick directly at Judith's hand startled Judith staggered back with her mouth wide open.

" Ouch!" Adam screamed when the gun came in contact with his head, but no one looked his way, instead all attention was on Clara.

" Are you seriously threatening me with your life?."He asked vexed but deep down he was nervous that the gun was fully loaded, he was even more disappointed at Judith who brainlessly tutored her on how to use it.

Even though he hated the fact that she was doing all this to keep another man's child, he can't let her do anything rashly, looking at the woman even though she was visibly trembling with fear she was still acting strong.

With his eyes he signals to the flustered Judith.

" You think I won't do it,huh?Have you forgotten how I injured my own hands just to keep the best memories of my piano?. "She clicked her tongue. " Your problem is that you are too cocky, that you seem to enjoy looking down at others."

For a moment Alex thought that Nora appeared but Nora won't do all this to keep the baby, instead she will gladly lead Xavier to a better hospital, but this was a desperate act of a mother to protect her child.

" Xavier please I'm ready to give up anything, just put an end to all this, I beg of you Clara's emotions aren't stable." Alex was worried that if this continues it will trigger the other personalities.

Like a flash Judith made her move, the gun that was in Clara's hands suddenly fell on the floor, a few inches away from Xavier's foot, letting out the breath he had been holding, Xavier immediately pulled Clara in for a tight embrace.

"Don't ever do this again! "That being said he pulled her away, stared at her messy face before turning to Alex with a hostile glance, " I seriously think we had to talk things out." He left without a second glance.

Seeing the way his plan was ruined Adam followed shortly with an angry snarl.

" Mr Qin, did he agree? Can I keep my baby now?He won't hurt us in the future, right?"she was crying loudly but she just wanted a positive response.

" Yes, he did, you can keep the baby."He consoled her gently, picking her up from the floor she was lying on.

" Clara, I think you should move in with me. This place is no longer safe, let me take care of you and you..your baby. " He suggested gently since he won't be able to help if anything happens to her again , so it's better to stay where he can keep an eye on them.
